You've inspired me! I have a sx 195, copied your transducer bracket, but used manufacturers mounting plate. You may have heard from the manufacturere , as I spoke to him and told him about your video. Also added starboard door per your instructions. Best mod yet. Shelf as well. Keep up the great work!

Loving this channel, like you no nonsense, practical approach with things done well, no hack jobs! Sounds stupid, I watched your winterize video, but can you do a video on the covers you use and set up for outside storage in winter. Scares me to death, but might have to do it with my boat. Have u always stored yours outside. Thanks again. You’re a huge help!

Hey Squeaky, thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching! I have been using the transport cover that my boat was shipped with from the factory as a winter cover. It has been working really well. I always keep the boat outdoors in the winter.

Hey Capt! I bought the phone charger/holder and had no problem mounting it. I had a question on if you remember which wires to splice into with the ignition switch? Thanks!

Hey Alex, I think for the phone charger I just tapped into the 12 volt lead for the blower. Since the blower is hardly used I figured why not.

Amazing video with great editing, I like you way of explaining and Demonstrate. We want to know how you wash your Yamaha and what products do you use? Another question do you flash the engine every time you finish from you sea trip ?

Thanks, I wash with a bucket of car soap after every trip and yes I flush my engine with fresh water and Salt-away since Salt water is very corrosive.

Great video once again Leon! Looking forward to starting on a coupe of these... Any chance of more detail what happened with the wiring of the phone charger between 11:55 and 12:15? Like... for a complete beginner who has no idea how to wire anything at all? Someone who already looked at the wiring diagram that comes with that unit and still has no idea what’s going on?!?!?! Asking for a friend...

The red wire needs to connect to a 12Volt power source, the black wire to a ground. I tapped into the red wire feeding the blower and the ground for the blower for the black. This might be helpful: www.dropbox.com/s/y1t1hh0pvdqrnjj/P3260311.MOV?dl=0

how is this set up still working out? no leaks? Again, sorry to bother you, just trying to learn. Were the 3/4 screws enough, or would you have rather done a bolt/nut/silicone? I feel like there is a ton of force on those screws? Sorry for the loss of your friend.

Captain Leon. I was wondering if you could do me a favor. I want to do the door mod on my 212X. Do you happen to have the measurements on the door? When I look online it doesn’t specify the measurements. Thank you.

Roberto, I measured the fiberglass piece which I cut out for the door. So these measurements are for the opening. Its exactly 24 inches tall, 14 3/4 wide at the bottom and then it tapers to 12 1/4 wide higher up on the door. Hope that helps.

Where did you get the little round white piece that sealed the cable from the transducer as it passed through the hull?

Hey Tony, the cable clamp was purchased at West Marine boating store. They have several types of cable clamps. The under deck of the swim platform is usually above the water line.

@@tonyreid2178 zero issues, it's perfect and watertight. The waterline is generally several inches below cable pass through, although water rises up to it when coming off of plane and in rough water.

I need the measurements for the outside of the frame, hieght and width at the top and bottom cause the top of the door is angled. I wanna buy this door to put on my 2014 212x but need the measurements to make sure itll fit.

It does get hot Eric. In direct sunlight it will overheat.
