Were Monty and Yamato in the game at the same time? I'm sure I remember Japan had the BBs and the USA had the CVs at first. I may be remembering the Beta, though.

Man, imagine a game about warships where Yamato's main guns' AP shells literally shatter on the armor of a broadside Lexington-class carrier at a range of 3 kilometers.

There is some irony in Yamato being an "AA Defence Expert" considering the fate of the ship in ww2.

It's not just the calibre of the guns that makes them filthy, it's that Yamato's got an incredibly good sigma... it's either 2 or higher, so those massive shells hit their mark more often than other BBs. And, Flamu... you *know* why your shells shattered on that Lexington, and why those other shells dipped directly into the water. It's that forcefield they give CVs in this game.

correction. yamato was in the game before montana. in CBT america and japan both had DD and CA lines but they gave america the CV line and japan the BB line. wasn't until latter in CBT that japan got CVs and america got BBs

Shells landing short is definitely a problem I noticed. Yesterday in my Jean Bart I had a Moskva full broadside at 8km away, I go for the shot at the water line and every shell landed in the water a few meters away.

*little correction actually Yamato is the first first t10 battleship, in alpha & beta testing the japanese forces had the bb line while in contrast the americans had the cv line. There some american BB's to test before, but not as an techtree and without a t10. :)

You were right the first time. The Yammie is the oldest BB. IJN BBs were added before USN BBs. Just as USN CVs were added before IJN CVs.

I have been craving new Yamato content from WoWs yt'ers because I'm slowly grinding for the ship and excited to get it. I've been wanting to see how it still fairs in today's games and I'm happy that it's still a monster. Thx for the vid Flamu!

Watching those shells fall short on the Lexington has made me feel much better. I've played 10 games in the Yamato and was considering selling it already due to how frequently it happens. Does anyone else find that? I've had broadside Stalingrad and Yamato in my last 2 games at less than 10km, I was already used to the shells falling short so actually aimed mid armour belt, both times I had 1 over pen from the shell hitting mid armour belt where I aimed and then the other 5 shells nose dive short into the water. This has happened nearly every game for me so far and is frustrating as anything. All my other t10's are Destroyers and Cruisers so maybe that warps my perspective of what guns should feel like but I'm not sure if it's a Yamato issue, or just an issue with all ships that gets made worse/ more noticeable due to the 30s reload where I'm used to 10s reload at most. (ps. before you all tell me to get good I can aim decently and have a solid 61%+ wr and just shy of unicum rating as I know those comments will come in... and will still probably come in haha)

I’m not sure if this is actually a thing but I’ve noticed that whenever I’m nose in and fire ahead if I stagger fire I’ll have better dispersion. I swear they coded in the conclusive force of the shells screwing with the trajectory of the second turret’s shells. Either that or the likelihood that RNGesus is trying to look predictable just to screw with me.

I just unlocked the RB and completed the double RBP grind and have 30.4 k RBP I really can’t decide whether I should get UU for Yammy or save resources and grind Slava. Great video by the way

Actualy Flamu, Yamato is older than Montana, way back in the day the IJN was the only tech tree with a BB line (no Izumo in it) and the USN the only one with a CV line, after that they added in the same update IJN CVs and US BBs.

I got my Yamato Legendary mission about 2 or 3 days before the beureau bs happened. I don't get to play Wows much so she's still my only tier X, and I have absolutely no shame of it, and I love her to death.

Before, i was saving coal for pommern and don't intend to get other ship (because i usually play BB but i don't really like the T9 Italian BB), but now my Azur Lane collection is completed and got Azuma commander, would you recommend me to save free exp to buy azuma and also buy pommern, or just leave pommern and go for yoshino instead? And i think i heard pommern is getting removed from the armory, is that true?

Over the years many people on forums love to complain that Yamato has been rendered useless. She never was useless, even today with all the fancy new ships and proliferation of 457mm armed BBs. Her 460mm guns have always made her relevant, especially against RN & FR BBs where their 32mm hull armor, extremities, deck armor is literally Free Real Estate for IJN 460mm Overmatch. Even through the days of RTS CV era terror of Midway, Hakuryu, through the CV Rework, the arrival of RN, FR, RU, and now ITA BBs, through all these new Cruiser Lines, the CV and Skill Rework, Yamato has remained relevant through all this. WG has also been very careful on preserving IJN BB Line's unique characteristic of Overmatching against 32mm armor with 460mm and 510mm guns... All found only on IJN BBs. Thunderer, Republique, Ohio, Georgia, their 430mm+ AP do not have that same Overmatch benefit that IJN 460mm / 510mm do. Edit: One of the bigger, but somewhat subtler changes was from the IFHE update. Part of that update was a standardization of armor values for a ship type, i.e. CL and CA armor, for a specific tier. In Tier X for example, before that update, not all CAs had 30mm hull side plating. Des Moines didn't have it, Zao and Hindenburg did. With the update, DM now has it. This had a major detrimental effect for BBs with guns smaller than 430mm as now said CAs can try and angle and tank with the 30mm plating. 420mm, 419mm, 406mm, 410mm AP can be angled and tanked by 30mm plating. But through all this, Yamato never cared. Yamato never gave a flying fuck.

Man, how do you aim like that with just the crosshair, without the lead time indicator? How do you know how far you have to aim to hit the ship or in the best case, the citadel?

Yamato has been consistent. Balancing every other aspects because it has very good guns. Tbh the best ship that wg ever produced (balance wise)

yamato is one of the ships I have the most problems playing good. the ship is made of lighter fluid and on long range I have issues landing shells due to low shell velocity. prolly playing it wrong.

I started playing in 2018... Very late to the party I know. But from the veterans out there, when was the best time to play WoWs?? Pre-CV rework, the only thing I complained about was the British BB HE spam, Stalingrad and some obvious OP ships. But how was the game in 2016/2017?

Seeing the flamu has all heals intact in his yamato at the end of this game tells us that passive gameplay(not his fault) gets way more rewarded than aggressive gameplay since the counter to aggression is basically too much and how in generally the mechanics favors the ships with HE shells specially with high fire chance along high rate of fire. Also add in the fact that fire deals percentage damage, now it gets to the point that as soon as you push the peddle button accidentally, you are good enough to see the screen of your port in no time, atleast for the average/even above average players.. In the game where sniping is only option for BBs. Yamato has all we need to snipe. Good dispersion, good sigma, good range, good shell damage, quite fast shell, quite flat ballistic ( not much flat but still flatter than american counterpart )​

The Yamato is an absolute beast. There is still no BB I am scared of in this thing. Proccing Yamamoto is hilarious. Managed to get 8 kills in a game with the Yama! Regularly get 200k+ damage games and on top of that it's fun to play. Legendary mod + Yamamoto + Yamato + Dead eye = KaBooM!

While in random match with my Yamato and someone did spot their CV then I send all out of shells rain down to CV and she got blew up by one full volley

11:45 speaking as a moderately good player, i would really prefer it sometimes if people also wrote in chat what they want. Sometimes "support me!" means push with me ,sometimes its create a crossfire. Sometimes people ping the map like manmen (yes you have done that too sometimes :P ) but if im only a moderately good player i might not be able to instantly get what you want to say with it, so 3-4 words in chat would help a lot in that Situation imho

So I stared to do this in my yammy a few months back, before flamu uploaded his vid... I started of by going forward, followed by a hard turn and then reversing slowly backwards.... Of course my team mates weren't to thrilled, they started reporting me and swearing and shooting me
