Muay Thai is mostly close range and clinching. But when you get to Muay Boran you start to get the long range strikes as well along with joint locks, throws and grips. And a lot of kicks to the legs and back of the knees

wrong. muay thai is superior in both close and long range strikes. it's just muay thai fights these days have given more emphasis on the clinching aspect because of their corrupt commissions. the problem with yaw yan as a pure striking art is that it lacks defense and clinching. this is just my opinion but i think my questions about yawyan can be answered in the future if our fighters will compete against muay thai fighters in thailand under thai boxing rules just to test its martial arts theory.

@@dwightgeniston7714 They may be similar but it's not the same martial art Yaw Yan is officially filipino martial arts Muay Thai is officially Thailand martial arts.
