@@shittysoulsplayer5038 this got the same energy as the intro to no ceiling 2 by lil wayne and I hate it. No ceiling 2. DOS. BISEXUAL ....THAT MEANS TWO
even though the deluxe is kinda mangled i dont think its that big of a deal tbh, since the revised donda doesn't really have any alterations that break the record and Donda DELUXE is just newly added songs, the OG record isn't compromised at all and you can still go back to the original tracklist and just listen to that one
@@barackobruhma7182 No he didnt, he was finishing the album. The original comment said ”he just released it under pressure and NOW hes endlessly updating it”. Which is not true because he has only updated it once.
@@UnseathedDeity because if you like the deluxe songs you need to literally make your own sequence in a playlist in order for it to actually be cohesive
It's just a throwback to when people used to compile albums by downloading mp3s from various sources and you'd end up with multiple versions of several songs, few viruses and porn
My best guess for the deluxe tracklist is that he’s put all of the most streamed songs onto the front half of the LP, so anyone listening through the deluxe casually will stream those first if they don’t end up hearing the whole thing, meaning they rack up plays and stay in the charts
@@XxLBPlayers123xX eh mostly just keep my spirit alive and now you can listen to that as pt 2 in deluxe, other changes weren't really that big of a deal imo
The tracklist being shuffled up seems like a mistake, but that doesn't ruin the original album at ALL. The "original" is pretty much still on streaming and we got 3 new songs, with Life Of The Party being an insane addition. For me this just puts the album higher in my book.
The deluxe feels more like a pretext to put all songs and all versions out in some way or another. I dont think the sequencing is the point here at all.
That’s likely the case, but at that point, why bother doing this? Just throw all the tracks that weren’t on the original onto a “Disc 2,” like most deluxe editions. Inserting them into the sequence at all is obviously going to invite the interpretation that you’ve done that for some deliberate reason, after all.
@@JB-dq9pn playing devils advocate, one long term goal in kanye's mind could be to force people to take the purchase of physical media more seriously in the future. You love an album as it is then make sure you snatch it up while you have the chance, even if you have to pay top dollar for it. I'm sure diehard stans of his will call it genius but us movie collectors have been well aware of this for years. Art being altered, moved, or going missing for various reasons is annoying regardless of the reason behind it, so owning a physical copy of your faves is the way to go. This re-sequencing could be a deliberate "fuck up" to spark more physical album sales either now or later....because a mere re-sequencing today could be far more impactful changes weeks from now. And potential fans of the album years from now that haven't listened to it yet will likely never know what the original was nor think/be compelled to dig for it. The issue I have is that this kind of ongoing artistic tinkering could make for a very lazy trend...where artists, perhaps even future Kanye himself, could get increasingly lazy about the quality of their 1st release because they know they can always change it later, but they're never in a position of healthy pressure to make the subsequent releases much better. An artist forcing themselves to get it right the first time is much better if you ask me.
@@NelStone1 i'm not saying there is. I'm simply pointing out that shit like this will lead people to take physical media more seriously. It's the only longterm positive that can come out of this but I doubt Kanye's being deliberate about it - he's just doing what he feels is right in the moment..which of course he has every right to do.
some of these placement changes are questionable at best, jail felt like the perfect start for the album, don't know why he felt like he needed to change it, oh well, im gonna make a playlist with my own placements lol
@@FirstnameLastname-nd9wx this donda deluxe feels more like a playlist that Ye just threw everything at it withouth care for placements and called it a day
@@eh6914 i mean its not really a big deal, but albums are a whole product, not just the sum of the songs. they can be at least. so why wouldn't you try to order them well
eh the ye hook version grew on me a lot. today when picking deluxe songs to download it took me a minute to decide which one i wanted. ultimately settled on the kaycyy one. that version felt like an orgasm the first time i heard it. for sure was my favorite song from the listening parties and first listen.
@@Pizza_Rat I hate that as well. But there is a single released apart from album which is the explicit version and that’s the one I’ll be listening too
Idk if you've seen it yet but Nathan Zed has one about that (and a few other classic videos that cover interesting aspects of music) that I think you'd like.
This is playlist the album honestly. That seems the plan, but I would be lying if I wasn't upset how abysmal the tracklist order is. Also Life of the Party is more than cool Anthony, especially the explicit version is SOTY contender imo.
Speaking of playlists, how cool would it have been if Drake did this post-release tweaking for his project More Life that he was calling a playlist... Shit would've been so dope
im just SUPER happy the original keep my spirit alive is there again! i just made a playlist of donda with all my favourites and in my prefered order. super happy he did it
Kinda implies that Kanye (or whoever did the track order) didn't really consider the flow of the album's tracklist too much It's strange, because alot music fans agree that tracklist order is pretty important
Yeah well Kanye is known for going against norms so this could be a case of him wanting fans to do whatever they want with the album in terms of sequencing.
@@cyberbron2077 Kanye is also know for keeping a certain flow for his albums, and not just letting them be a jumbled mess. TLOP doesn’t have an exact theme like his other albums, but the track list order in it is important, for example
@@cyberbron2077 i can most definitely see an artist choosing to embrace the current culture of consumers having the freedom to rearrange an album since theyre likely to do it anyway, BUT there's a ton of value in having an "artist's cut" that flows in a very deliberate and particular way that you can always go back to. A trend like this can very easily lead to tons of artists getting increasingly lazy about making complete and cohesive albums...to the point where the craft of making an actual album gets lost even further than it already has been..all because "nobody's gonna listen to it in order anyway." Not necessarily saying it's a cop out in this case but it is a VERY slippery slope towards that.
I think this is Kanye`s way of giving you 100% control over the track list and which versions of the song you want to listen to. Already created a playlist called "fixed Donda".
Everyone’s Donda is different. I just did my own tracklist earlier. It’s such a great feeling taking the tracks you know and love and turning it into a project with a meaning better to you. It makes it more powerful
I think the deluxe version added some great tracks, life of the party and up from the ashes add a lot imo. that being said I think that he should have just removed all of the part twos and just selected essentially the best version of the songs, but have this all be just the main album. Then for the deluxe version have all of the part 2s at the end. Do you think that would have been better?
I feel that Donda is meant to be more of an experience than an album and that, along with the stem player, you should make your own Donda. Don't like part 1? Remove it and replace it with part 2. Hate song order? Mix and match since the songs don't have a definitive continuity. I like the deluxe better than the original
I don’t think this is a big deal since it’s just a deluxe, just listen to former in it’s full and just pick out one’s from the deluxe as if they’re bonus tracks. I think artists are starting to do this with deluxes nowadays so people listen all the way through for more streams, I saw this last year at least with Wunna’s deluxe by Gunna and a few others.
It feels strange now… was bloated already who ever thought that different songs sequencing is going to improve the album is delusional. I think it’s Kanye himself is just testing his fan base even further I don’t need 2 versions of the same song on the album
I’m personally glad this deluxe got released. I took the 3 songs added in the deluxe and used just placed them into spots I felt with well with the original track list (Up From The Ashes after 24, Never Abandon Your Family after Heaven and Hell and Life Of The Party after Donda) as well as replacing Remote Control and KMSA with their Pt 2s do it kinda just made for an overall better listening experience. You can just kinda stuck them into the original how I did to your liking and it raises the albums score by a point for me.
I just put those 3 tracks as bonus (and remove the part twos) first life of the party, them up from the ashes and never abandon your family (I like Donda’s voice has the final vocals) also keep the original KMSA with Kaycyy. Also I put the all the part 2 in another playlist. The version of life of the party that I put as a bonus on the original Donda is the Single and explicit version not the deluxe and clean version.
My feeling since the original Donda dropped has been that part of the concept of the record was that we shouldn't care about the sequencing and actually make our own. This deluxe version confirms that for me. What originally made me think that was a few things : First the sequencing seemed kind of random. The first line from Jail is "take what you want.". The stem player seemed to be an important aspect, since it's the only physical copy on sale and we can do whatever we want with the songs. Also the rollout of the album with the three listening party : each one getting fuller and fuller. I think it was planed out to look as if he was adding things and creating during the rollout. And the idea behind that was to let us in on the creative process. By seeing the progressions of the three listening party we can imagine what he could add to a fourth. Also with the many features, many beeing younger artist that he inspired, and themes of the album about transmission it seemed to be part of the concept. It's like he disected his most personal themes of home, faith and family and made them bigger than him by letting his many collaborators and the audience interact with it all in a creative way.
Nah this is fax I’ve always felt with how messy the released tracklist on streaming services was compared to the more cohesive listening parties that Donda was meant to be made your own with your own sequencing
I was really hoping Donda was gonna be improved with time, I feel like the pieces were always there but it didn't quite come together for me. Doesn't seem like that's happening with this one tho
Additional tracks I'm totally cool with. Love having Life of the Party on there for example, I needed a high quality version of that 3000 verse. The ordering I agree is just weird now though. That should've been the same.
To keep dondas relevancy high, he's likely gonna release a version of the deluxe with similar structure to the original donda, it just seems like a Kanye thing to do tbh
I think the sequencing is messed up on the assumption/intention that people will mix and match their own version of the album through playlists. I'm not sure why you'd even want to listen to the full 32 tracks anyway
Even as a Kanye fan, i feel this is Kanye’s most messy album rollout since TLOP. Guarantee the only reason he released it when he did was to one-up Drake. The album was never finished he just wanted to release before CLB. He is one of the greatest artists of our generation but he allows Drake to live in his head rent free.
@@callmeinfested except he is now going doing interviews talking about the album and releasing music videos and the deluxe version, clearly he did actually mean to release it. The thing about the label releasing it without his permission was only because jail pt2 wasn't on the album initially
I just updated my original Donda with this: Never abandon your family before Ok Ok Life of the Party before Moon Up from the ashes before Come to life All part 2's are at the end as 'extra'. With that, Donda is an absolute 10/10 for me. Just sad that I have to do it myself instead of Kanye doing it, doesn't feel right. Loved how all Ye albums previously had an arc and meaning to sequencing
I remember when Donda first dropped it was a big trend to mix the songs into a playlist and make your own track order, but this shit is kind of ridiculous.
But if you want the original album sequence the updated version didn’t change the album order I feel like I’ll only come to the deluxe for Life of the Party and Remote Control Part 2
The non-deluxe Donda hasn’t been removed from streaming so I’ll just continue to listen to that and add the bonus songs to my playlists. But yeah this deluxe sequencing is pretty stupid.
I’m glad I was able to download Donda before the changes, but the fact that Keep My Spirit Alive got a part 2, and the only change is the KayCyy chorus is pretty weird.
Donda would be 10/10 if; Remove the Pop Smoke song Remove all the Pt.2 songs Kept the Kaycyy version of Keep My Spirit Alive Kept Pusha T and Kanye on the song "DONDA" Left original track order from the 2nd live performance of the album Remove Glogabgabgalab from Remote Control
I liked Hurricane, Moon and Life of The Party being the 1-2-3 but after that the order is super weird. Love the improvements and changes he made but the order is kinda dumb lol
It's still on YT Music, but now you have to go to the "other versions" section of regular Donda to access it. The artist page for Kanye West now only lists regular Donda as his latest release. Also Deluxe is missing when trying to search for it
Come to Life works fucking incredibly near the end of the record. I think No Child Left Behind also works very well as a come down from that beautiful moment. It makes no fucking sense why they’re not only separated but they’re in the middle of the tracklist now
If “Ye’s” name was not attached to this Deluxe album, I would of thought that some random person would of made this a playlist and did not care of the seq. and just played it in shuffle.
damn almost like this album is made for the fans to have some fun with it? Just make a playlist of your favorite songs and sequence them however you want. We get great music and a massive album yet people still complain.
The sequencing was always off from the initial release of Donda. What I found was that there we’re actually 2 different albums mixed into one super long album. And this initial list out songs out of sonic contrast making amazing songs like “Believe What I Say” feel odd and out of place, essentially making it a skip track because of how it brought you out of the sonic vibe being built through the album. So from very early I identified which songs had that brighter gospel feel that meshed with “Believe” and sequenced them together going after a resequencing of the darker trap/drill tracks which had an amazing sound and feel fully cohesive together. This gave me pretty much a double album with album consisting of: Album 1: Never Abandon, Jail, God Breathed, Off The Grid, Hurricane, Praise God, Wash Us In The Blood (trust me it fits perfectly), Ok Ok part 2, Heaven And Hell, Tell The Vision (full song from Pop Smoke’s album Faith), Jesus Lord, and Come To Life completing album 1. Album 2 consists of: Donda, Believe What I Say, Junya, Remote, Life Of The Party, Moon, Keep My Spirit, New Again, Lord I Need You, Pure Souls, Up From The Ashes, No Child Left Behind. This is the best way to listen to Donda. If it was released like this it would be regarded as one of Kanye’s best ever and album of the year. Both albums 1 and 2 being amazing but different listening experiences. D they even flow nicely into each other if you listen to them back to back. Everything gets slotted into context. I just wish Donda was released in this fashion.
