Well I guess it was only natural that I would do a follow-up. Honestly as much as I didn't like these last handful of episodes, I didn't decide to do this video until I saw the embarrassment that was 15x19. Seriously the worst of the whole season, I think.

I can’t take anything about that final episode seriously, because it really just plays like Dean giving in to the suicidal ideation he has literally been fighting his entire life!! It’s hard to put all my frustration into words, but that is what it boils down to for me.

I love how they make 18739 filler episodes and then put so many important stuff from the main plot into 3 episodes. It's like they don't even try anymore for the show to make sense, so they just cater to people who like watching the filler episodes and show middle finger to the ones that prefer an actual storyline.... Also, can't believe what they did to Michael after 10 years of me waiting for him to come back...

I get that disarming Chuck took away their plot armor, but wouldn't they still have the luck which the Goddess Fortuna gave to them? Does that have a shelf life? Couldn't Jack give it back to them or restore it with a new suit of plot armor? Or is that a no, since Jack said he'd be hands-off?

5:52 "Oops I guess they missed one" HONESTLY THOUGH! WHAT WAS THAT! The Empty kept being set-up as one of the most damning final villains and we don't even know HOW that was resolved / how Cas was saved from it? That one line the Empty says,"You made it loud" HAUNTS me. What was the point of that line if we never see it again or that ever gets mentioned?? I'm glad Cas was brought back, but there should've been some sort of on-screen rescue or something to make them work for it this time. For them to let Cas go without asking Jack to save him or trying to get him back themselves was just so out-of-character for both brothers, regardless of how you feel about Dean and Castiel's relationship. Also, love the points you made about Death. They were always my favorite minor character (both Billie and the OG Death) and they always got so disrespected over the years. "Death" should have never been killable in the first place, and certainly not killable by Lucifer.

So you’re telling me after fighting Lucifer, God's Sister, God, going to Hell, bearing the Mark of Cain and being the Vessel of Michael, Dean died to a rusty nail?....Okay, whatever! I have overall mixed feelings about this Series Finale. On one hand, it feels kind of poetic and bittersweet to end the Series with just Sam and Dean, just like they started. On the other, I would have loved if they had included Castiel at the end, on that bridge with Sam and Dean in heaven. He had become a big part of the show just as much as the brothers in my opinion. If I would rate this Series Finale, I would give it 5.5/10. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. It was just fine. At least this Finale didn't piss me off like e.g. How I Met Your Mother Finale or Game of Thrones Finale.

No he didnt die to a rusty nail just by accident. Dean just let himself die because it was the fate he’d always expected, dying randomly on a hunt. He discovered that free will was the real sham, that he’d never escape what he always suspected would be his fate :(

I totally feel you on the not planning to make a video about it, but just needing to talk about it because it was ROUGH. I wasn't a fan of Dean dying on the random vampire hunt just because I felt like he had a lot more skill built up over the many years of hunting and all of that couldn't have just been God? I understand your point of view on that though because they really just say "God wanted it" a whole lot during the final seasons. I can understand if Covid restrictions stopped them from brining back Eileen, but they couldn't have had Sam and his son use sign language? That would have been such a simple hint to put in to imply it was Eileen he grew old with. I was also so bothered we never saw Cas in the end. Like come on you're going to bring him back off screen and never show him again!? He's the third most important character on the show, and it felt like he got no resolution. I agree him constantly cheating death is overdone, but once Jack became God it was kind of obvious he would have to bring his adopted father back. I'm just bothered we didn't get to see him again even for just a moment. :/

It was so terrible! Season 5 had the best ending by far. Even though it was very sad to lose Sam but it was a realistic ending to the series. The god storyline ruined it for me. It’s not scary it’s boring. The Yellow Eyed Demon, Meg and Lucifer are along with others seen from Seasons 1-5 which are the best and have that dark spooky eerie atmosphere. Not to mention the deaths were disturbing.

I hated the ending. The men of letters no longer exist, all of their knowledge is lost, there were barely any hunters left, Dean died in a none-badass sad way, and Sam left his old life to starts a family as if Dean was the reason he never had a normal life. I wish they would've had predecessors to take over. They should've passed on their knowledge and teachings. Idk how to explain it but it just sucked. The ending ruined the entire show.

Will all the stuff that's gone down in Supernatural, I'll always hold that anything other than character development ending in retirement or the buys going their separate ways is just a stop. Everything we saw in season 15 has been done before and there is just no reason why they wouldn't have gone on dealing with the empty and Cas or Chuck coming back for seconds other than The Plot Said so. Also, aside from the whole "peace in death"- can of worms, Dean's death just lacks the context that would have it make sense. If it's the whole plot armor thing, why not bring it up? Is it their first hunt after Chuck? Have they been exterminating nests before and done just fine? Why not show that? Why the damn nail, why not have a monster wound him? Why not take him to hospital, make the whole thing look less suicidal? If the point was the randomness of life, why not give him a heart attack or diabetes or have him injured so he can't keep hunting? There was just so many ways this could have been done in a way that didn't feel like Mystery spot.

i agree with everything you said about the finale for the most part. i think the execution was a bit shaky but i thought the execution of the entire season was kind of ass, and the actual points they hit worked for me. i'm glad we didn't get canon reciprocal destiel. i was never into it, and i think doing it the way they did was the best way to throw the shippers a bone while also keeping the show's focus on the brothers and their dynamic - you can imagine dean's response to be whatever you want it to be. i also liked dean's death. hunters die on hunting trips for stupid reasons all the time, and i think it was a great way of cementing that they really WERE truly free of god's machinations - no plot armour to shield them, bad luck happens, and sam and dean both accepting it was a great way of finally breaking the cycle the show set up of the winchesters going to lengths for one another that were a net negative for themselves and the world. don't get me started on michael... i was so looking forward to his growth and more insight into his and adam's relationship and they just.... did nothing with it.

After discovering that there are many different alternate universes in season 13, I want to believe that Swan Song was the final battle for Sam and Dean in that universe and Sam stood in the cage with Adam as Lucifer and Michael, and Dean continued to stay with Lisa and Ben and lived a happy life. In another universe, Sam was sprung from the cage just like we know, and events played out like they did up til the fall of the angels and Sam dying due to the trials. Dean continuing to live on and become a one man killing machine, that would soon turn into the Dean from the alternate universe illusion version of himself from season 4 when Sam said yes to Lucifer, only that never happens to him going forward. Another universe would be the events playing out as we know after the angels fall and up until Dean becomes a Demon after dying with the mark of Cain, and Sam has to find him and sadly probably kills Dean in that universe. In another universe things play out up to the series finale. As for the Death books of destiny, I would like to think that there are infinite versions of everyone’s death from all those infinite universes, that’s why we didn’t see some of them play out in the main series universe, but they probably did happen in an alternate version of our main universe. The possibilities are basically endless in my opinion, that’s how I see it. Probably over thinking things like crazy though lol.

I’m the type of person that will accept things for what they are, the bad doesn’t take anything away from the good because as long as I enjoyed myself then why should I complain? But omg I hated the season finale. Every second. I have a whole rant and a whole list of a million reasons why that I won’t get into, but hearing that someone actually watched it and say they liked it makes me happy that at least someone was satisfied and able to take it in as it is and still enjoy it if that makes any sense.

I think that Dean's death is totally messed up but at least they let him die as heroes should, but Sam living an apple pie life for 30 years knowing there are still vampires, wearwolves and what else, it's simply ridiculous. The excuse they make is that he was honouring Dean's death wish, which doesn't add up since Dean tells Sam to keep on fighting. For Dean, keeping fighting on means fighting what goes bumping in the night, not the struggles normal mortals go through. For like 40 years Sam and Dean have been superheroes and at the end of the show they just decided they were turning them into regular Joes. This is the most miserable ending I've ever witnessed.

I'm actually a bit surprised with all the stupidity I read about this series, that we didn't find out Sam and Dean are also the reincarnation of Jesus and are destined to take God's thrown in heaven so fans can indulge in that Wincestors fanfic idea. I mean those two are like the "true vessel" for like half of the cosmic heirarchy. Instead though the writers just went full fanwank with Lucifer's plot device son Jack. Who's stupidly overpowered and a walking plot device for... whatever reason. I guess it's the Marvel answer and simply "evolution" and microscopic changes to human DNA via Lucifer's penis is the equivalent to the power of the big bang or something?

Too bad it was awful. I actually watched up to season like 10 or the beginning of 11 with my sister. It had camp but there was some cool and interesting stuff. Honestly I started to check out when it started feeling like the writers got too involved in their own fandom and started writing the show to appeal to the Tumblr crowd that was so active online, rather then just writing the show as they had been.

This show does have such a difficult time with displaying hierarchies of power. Basically all power displays on this show are equivalent. The biggest thing you get is exploding characters with a finger snap and a bunch of characters can do that. Michael and Lucifer throw little blue lights at each other or slowly float around a church and forget that each of them can teleport. Actually, characters who can teleport ALWAYS conveniently forget. Sam and Dean also have a habit of bringing their least effective weapons in general (pistols) into every situation. ALSO, the only reason "free will" beats determinism in this show is because God or whoever else creates the seed of their destruction and then sits back allowing it to happen. Every character just lets Sam and Dean do basically whatever they want all the time. Just kill them or lock them up or something. It makes no sense. All that said I like the show just for the joy of the creativity with stand alone episodes and the general small town hopping environment. I think the bigger characters were a great idea but they didn't generally pull it off. Crowley and Cass were fun. Azazel was interesting. The four horsemen were cool. Up from there it's just hard to buy. Everyone seems to scale about the same: strong human with limited telekinetic abilities and a somewhat specialized death weapon. I mean, Lucifer was physically digging graves. Why? He doesn't even have like weak Jedi capabilities. I know they probably didn't have the budget or didn't want to hurt the show by making larger scale power displays, but bite off what you can chew is all I'll say to that.

I just finished the series last night for the first time after bingeing it over the past 5 months on Netflix and what a ride! Love this show! I've watched both of your videos and mostly agree even though I'm still processing everything Supernatural. The show is bigger than itself though I'm glad I could watch it basically in one sitting verses watching the series over 15 years. I'm not sure I would've stuck with it otherwise. But just a couple of points: too much Lucifer! I was livid every time they brought him back. Mary works well as a concept but no version of her was as charismatic as she would have needed to be for her to be the impetus of this story sans God. And God became a crutch but overall I was satisfied with that arc. Jack is the most meh character ever created for prime time. I'm mixed on Castiel, he's so in love with Dean it makes him one of the stupidest characters I've ever seen, but that might be the point, so...mixed. Wayward Sisrers: just no. But Sam & Dean. Jared & Jensen. Wow. They kept me going when all else seemed to fall away. I don't know how they did it for 15 years. They must have an unknowable bond. As much as their characters frustrated me the actors never gave less than everything and are easily, inarguably the reason to commit to this show. I hope they are proud of their achievement. I wish they would have given Jared more comedy but he does earnest so well I can almost understand why they didn't because Jensen is a comedy genius. He made things work that absolutely shouldn't have. Supernatural is incredible for being as consistently entertaining as it was for 15 years. That is unheard of and unlikely to be repeated. And well earned. My only question after watching the whole series is why were there no consequences for Dean killing Death? Seems like there should've been some universe shaking stakes for that. Otherwise, bravo!
