i think kongo sees humans in a positive light because of his creator's image, and thats why he made the gems at her image, and kinda of assumes a role similar to hers.

On the subject of Kongo's feelings for humans I think its a complicated matter. I don't think he is actually angary in this chapter but more overcome by emotion. On one hand he shapes the gems to look human and raises them in human like civilisation way. On the other hand he is aware of everything the humas got wrong through his eye/visions. I think in his own way he was trying to make the gems a better version of humanity. We don't know how their society would have turned out without the lunarians raiding them and how much that distorted them. The thing people overlook with Kongo is the fact he is a machine built by humans programmed to be a prayer machine. A job we know he was preforming until he malfunctioned. Its not clear how much of his view of humanity is programmed and how much is his own fee will. Its never been clear to me if he stopped praying before or after the first the lustrous appeared maybe his original malfunction was unrelated. The fact he is still sworn to secrecy shows he is still at least partially bound by his human programming. One sad possibility is his love for the gems is just programming he sees them as human and his programming tells him to look after humans. This in turn would clash with the programming telling him to pray for the lunarians trapping him in an unescapable loop. Praying for the lunarians after his malfunction would also destroy humanity(the Gems) violating the programming to protect humans. We know he has spent his whole existence wating for a human to tell him his job is done based on his last exchange with Phos. That makes sense as being told his job was done was the only way to resolve his conflicting programming. Kongo could been seen as a mirror for Aechmea both of them wanting a human for their own goals. Aechmea to create a prayer machine and become nothing. Kongo so that a human could tell him his work was done.

Wonder if Yellow Diamond’s forgetfulness here was due to lost parts as well. The other gems don’t really seem to mention losing a part afaik, just feels like that should be more common. But they’re losing their identity on the moon without losing parts (…as far as we know), the confirmed instance of Cairngorm gets long sleeves specifically, and Phos’ inclusions make them a shameless weirdo, so- The location is named northern swamp iirc and is at the apex of the island’s curve, (H) in the lorebook. It’s relatively close. Lorebook also mentions how the gems in general aren’t suited for teamwork. But the gems gathered for chapter one, and if you counted the “gongs”, it’s 6… can’t believe Ichikawa can’t count. You’ve probably been reminded to death that this is classed as seinen now. (By limited detail in my memory) The moon gems left for their own reasons, weren’t told until they’re on the moon and subject to Aechmea’s silver-tongue about the armour of love and so on.
