Sorry. Well. It was written when Yellowcard took an incredibly long Hiatus and Ryan was basically contemplating whether or not to go back. The song is about him weighing the pros and cons of staying out of the band or going back into it. There are 2 versions of this song, the Big If version and this. The Big If version is the definitive version because the lyrics were the original mix of the song and those lyrics held the true meaning of the song.
This song is about him finding an old photograph. "A black and white of you I found" means a black and white photo of a girl (perhaps a previous relationship). "Hang you up" means he puts the photo of the girl on the wall, then he "pulls" it down, because he cant bare to think about the girl anymore.
@WaterScream yes, he left the band. check out the official YC page for more infos. if you wanna say goodbye to Sean, join the project you will find in my video "Sean O'Donnell "Goodbye Video" - You can enter until Feb. 29th !!!"
probably... put yourself in his position for a second... especially when you need to perform... if your so used to doing something and you take that away unless your really good at adapting or it's been awhile... your probably not going to know what to do with that part that isn't being used
