When I was first dating my now wife this song was what I played and sang to her while we were driving around on our third date. 14 years later, 10 years of marriage, and two kids later I found it on her playlist in the car the other day. I think I’m going to play it for my daughters one day when I tell them about how me and their mother courted one another.
These guys were a huge part of my life growing up , wasn’t a very fun upbringing, bands like this got me through it and allowed me to persevere and become a complete person. Love you forever Yellowcard ☝️
Thank you to all the bands who can actually sing good because this was a true staple of my childhood listening to singers I just love hearing their songs in 2000s and 2010s. Thank you so much Yellow Card and Thank all of you bands who performed in the 2000s and 2010s it's still perform today. Thank you and God bless you.
So I hadn't listened to Yellowcard for a few years, and Pandora played this song. It nearly made me cry. I love you Yellowcard. Thanks for giving us your music. 🖤
It's cool hearing about another pandora user haha. Yeah yellowcard is great, i only recently discovered them (thanks to Matt Cutshall's emo's not dead videos)
The orange rain is a symbol of hope..... when u see orange rain through a hard time its sopoused to calm u down and bring your spirits back up so u can go forth and live on
This is so 2007- everything has this really cool eerie Halloween but also Victorian punk vibe. It’s when punk rock was peaking and WAS the popular culture and I remember specifically seeing this debut on MTV. I couldn’t believe my ears. The feeling was so warm. The time period is ingrained in me. I don’t feel anything like it unless I listen to this.
Funny how this Charles dude brought everyone here when I was listening to this song when I was 15/16. I'm 23 now. Classic song and still brings back the memories from the first time I heard it.
i love yellowcard; their music has love song lyrics without all the slow chords n stuff and instead replaces that with punk/rock for more energy. :) yellowcard is amazing
i love yellowcard because unlike many other bands, they haven't completely changed their sound, yes they've grown up but their still Yellowcard♥ they haven't sold out like many band out there.
The line 'And it's still so hard to be who you are but you've come this far with a broken heart' really defines my life rn tbh. thank you yellowcard for existing
In their time, these songs were massive hits. Like countless other amazing songs, the will slowly fade into obscurity and only people like you and me will be able to remember how amazing this music was. It was our music.
Went to a concert last year where I was able to actually meet Yellowcard. I was so excited I wrote and gave them a letter expressing how much they mean to me and I mentioned this song specifically. Come concert time I'm in the front row jumping and singing my head off when this song comes on. I'm not sure if it was coincidence or not but Sean looked me dead in the eye and blew me a kiss. I will never forget that moment and it's things like that that make Yellowcard the best band of all time
Very happy memories are pouring into me now. summer of 2009 in the Philippines when I heard this song on an FM station, until now I still listen to it, it feels good to be a child again.
I personally think this is their best song. better than Ocean Avenue, despite that being their big song. I can't wait to buy this album soon. I love the video too. very creative.
I love this song more than words can say. One thing about yellowcard - you're either the drummer, the violin guy or Ryan Key. Nobody has ever known who the other guys are :)
Ryan Mendez (lead guitar since 2005-06), Josh Portman (bassist since 2012) and their former bassist was Sean O'Donnell. Also, the drummer, who just left, was Longineu Parsons and the "violin guy" is the awesome Sean Mackin. YC rocks!
The clouds towards the beginning of the video kinda looks like the "Rhino" from James & the Giant Peach & the first lady you see looks like one of James' Evil Aunts! Love Yellow Card!
I used to listen to these songs about 12 years ago when I was in highschool. Sometimes I get those melancholic callings to revisit and listen to those. Still fantastic pieces of music, sadly I made some decisions that left my life empty on the relationship side of things. So I cannot really light up the sky for anyone as I did not take certain chances I should have. I always loved those slow build ups like it starts at 2:25
this reminds me of the episode of Kenan and Kel when it was raining orange soda, and Kel was singing "I'm driiinking orange rain, I'm driiinking orange rain"
