It saddens me how all the comments are from 10 years ago. I miss Yellowcard. Despite their uplifting music, they had quite a unique style and their music always gave me the feelz.
I've watched the world go by Outside a window I still can't believe Where I am now It's been forever long Adventures come and gone And I'm left alone But not let down 'Cause I have found a gravity A voice that pulls me to my knees Telling me remember where you're from This southern air is all I need Breathe it in and I can see Canvases behind my eyes All the colors of my life This southern air is in my lungs It's in every word I've sung It seems the only truth I know This will always be home I thought about the day When I could truly say I'm better now here I am 'Cause I have left this gravity grab a hold and carry me And I will not Forget where I am from Forget where I am from This southern air is all I need Breathe it in and I can see Canvases behind my eyes All the colors of my life This southern air is in my lungs It's in every word I've sung Seems the only truth I know This will always be home Always be home Always be home The sun lays down inside the ocean, I'm right where I belong Feel the air and salt on my skin the future's coming on And after living through these wild years coming out alive I just want to lay my head here and stop running for a while This southern air is all I need Breathe it in and I can see Canvases behind my eyes All the colors of my life This southern air is in my lungs It's in every word I've sung Seems the only truth I know This will always be home Always be home Always be home This will always be home This southern air is in my lungs It's in every word I've sung Seems the only truth I know This will always be home
"I've thought about the day when I could truly say I'm better now... Well, here I am!" Love this song. Love this album. Love this band. They may have achieved perfection on this album. Great job.
I go to an out-of-state university. It takes me six hours to drive home and every time I cross the border into my home state I play this song and sing along as loud as I can. So much love for this band.
This entire song is so amazing and although I can't relate to it, I still love it so much. Yellowcard's music just makes me feel so happy and inspired. Even though I'm not choosing music as a career they still inspire me because, of there hard work and dedication. Their music just brightens up my day and can make any boring task such as folding clothes fun.
Adithi Balakrishnan beautifully written and performed song. I can relate to this song since I recently graduated college last month and I miss college already. This song makes me think about my time at West chester university and how great it was. Not to mention the friends that I made too
They were by far the best band I've seen live. And I've seen some pretty decent bands including weezer, blink, Angels and airwaves, fall out boy, Panic at the disco. Pretty much the same type of music as yellowcard and yellowcard just was simply amazing. I will for sure be seeing them again live when ever they hit chicago again.
Prepare to be amazed! I've seen them live in september for the first time, after listening to them for a loooong time and i was thrown back by their energy and what nice and humble people they are (:
As a resident of Texas, the spirit and pride of this song pervades my very being. This Southern Air is in my lungs, its in every breath I take.. I love my home :) Even though I'm a minority here, I don't feel out of place. I will always remember where I'm from :)
This is a amazing song! And people who say this should have been faster have a point but this was supposed to be slower because this came from their heart and they want to show that they really do love the south, their home.
This song and this album are my favorite by Yellowcard. Even more so than Ocean Avenue and I love love love Ocean Avenue. I feel like they've finally come home, but are more talented and more experienced. Thank you Yellowcard.
such great song!!! this song makes me think about my junior year in college. I just transferred to west chester university from Delaware county community college and this song make me think about all the memories from this year and all the friends that I made. west chester will always be home to me even though I'm from downingtown
I'm kid that first opened the radio at the year 2010 but damn... I first heard the song "Ocean Avenue". I liked it. Soon, I search more songs from Yellowcard and I found out they are A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
No matter where I roam, I always end up back in Yorkshire. This northern air is in my lungs, its in every word ive sung. Seems only truth I Know is always be my home.
I don't know about anyone else, but I was introduced to this band through Burnout 3. A great game for its time. Their song Breathing was on there and I loved it. That's always the first song I think of when I hear Yellowcard.
It never occurred to me before listening to this song that they really have acquired some country influences over the years. Not that it's a bad thing.
Adithi Balakrishnan in my opinion, yellowcard could have been more of a largely known band like Blink-182 and Green Day are. They could have had cameo appearances in movies or even had skits on Saturday night live. But Blink 182 was known for their toilet humor and skateboarding. Yellowcard was not.
Firstly, Yellowcard could never be described as emo. Secondly, are you guys crazy I came here to see if everyone was talking about 3:20-4.02 its one of the best moments in their music.
A lot of people keep saying this but - though the solos are good - I’m talking about the actual beef of the song all the way through. The verses, choruses
Yeah but let's be real, it's far better than almost the past decade of everything they've ever done. There were some gems on When You're Through Thinking, but this is truly some of their best stuff.
who among you miss the days when Yellowcard,Story of the Year,NFG,MCR,The Used,Finch,Bink182, Sum 41,Dashboard,Coheed,The Ataris,TBS were still ruling the airwaves...well,I do...
Yellowcard is one of those pop punk bands out there who can write lyrics about relationships without sounding too cheesy....i just hope they would release an album that would be more "cut me mick" and less "Hang You up",,,i miss those sick guitar riffs from cut me mick...but nevertheless...Great album as always...
Love this album. But it’s obvious (as Ryan said) that the lyrics were written first. Because the songs were written around the singing; there aren’t many memorable instrument pieces. There’s nothing in this album quite like the violin bit at the start of "For you and your denial" or the guitar in "Back home". They are all great songs but i would have liked to see more imaginative and awesome bits from the guitarist, violinist etc.
violin solo on Always Summer, and guitar solo in Rivertown Blues, dude, come on. And I don't think they wrote the lyrics first, Ryan said he was working on the lyrics in February, and everything had been demoed out in January
