Always entertaining. You mention making a few incisions to clean the tuna. Could you do a video sometime showing the way to properly dress your tune while on board. I think many viewers would find that beneficial. I would.

@reaperfishingnj8623

Any 50-80 lb class rod is fine for trolling yellowfin tuna. The prices can get crazy if you go the custom route. Best bang for your buck is Billfish Rods from Sea Striker. Then Penn, Shimano, etc.

@reaperfishingnj8623
@reaperfishingnj8623 Год назад
3 oz Joe Shute or Magictail hoo head. This trip our bites were off the long rigger set about 100 yards behind the boat. the depth they run will vary depending on trolling speed/sea conditions. more importantly is to rig them right so they are swimming properly

@reaperfishingnj8623

Thanks so much. We use 130 lb hollowcore braid backing with 200 yards or so of mono topshot which is 80 mono. If I were doing all mono I'd still do 80 pound on a 50 Wide and typically 50 lb mono on a 30 wide

@reaperfishingnj8623
@reaperfishingnj8623 Год назад
@@r2videos965 you won't really be able to differentiate bait out in the canyons. You'll see them as clouds higher up in the water column. Not the deep red you see with fish/tuna. We don't go crazy changing color of spread unless we see a specific color getting bit the most. green, rainbow, purple/black, blue/white. More important to stay with the bait you mark and have the spread running right
