I think the man in the reflection and the doorway is John Dutton. Why would they hide rips appearance? What if they’ve fooled us all and John Dutton returns even if it’s only for a scene or 2? Sarah has John Killed, Beth goes after Jamie and tells rip and the baby. Jamie ends up dead. Kayce gets the Yellowstone and gives part of it to Rip as he’s earned it and the other part eventually will be inherited by Tate and in a sense goes back to the Indians. Tate grows up to run his side of things and Carter grows up in rips image learning to run his side of things. Those 2 then become the main characters either further down the line in this series or in a sequel.
This show had all the potential in the world. Great cast, good plot, cool locations, and then Sherian F'd it all up. Done with Yellowstone and anything else Sheridan has done.
What if Costner effed it all up. Sheridan had a story line from the beginning and knew when it would end, it's been rumored for a few years Costner didn't like the way it ended.
We are all assuming that John Dutton will die, remember his love interest moved to Washington, he could just walk away from the ranch and leave it for Rip and Cayce to run
My take would be that John Dutton goes to jail on Manslaughter charges. Jamie has a change of heart and steps in to stop the murder of John Dutton (his dad) yes, Jamie has a change of heart realizing how much he loves J.D. like a real father. Somehow though in trying to stop things Jamie is the one shot by thy hired gun. John gets to Jamie just in time for Jamie to ask his father to take care of his son. That duty is going to fall on Beth and Rip to raise Jamie's son. John in his grief over lost hopes for him and Jamie hunts down the killer and kills him, then turns himself in to the law. Courts convict him of Manslaughter therefore not killed off as was in Costner's contract that he not be killed off. It also sets things up for a potential return if ever needed. 8:02
I think that is Beth's hat, it's tan and John mostly wears black or chocolate Stetons in season 5, and if that is Rip it is probably Lioyd with him. But it will be interesting to see how it plays out in light of all the speculations.
In 1883, the native American who told James Dutton about the valley says to him "in 7 generations my people will seek to regain the land" and James Dutton literally says "in 7 generations they can have it." We don't know the exact timeline regarding how many generations it's been since James Dutton settled on the land originally. another Easter egg is that a main character in 1923 is a Native American woman with the last name Rainwater. This leads me to believe that Thomas Rainwater will actually play a crucial role when it comes down to the ranch in the end. If you watch interviews of Sheridan you can see that ultimately he is on the Native Americans "side" even though we are seeing the story from the POV of the white family who owns it. I do think the Duttons will lose the land in the end.
Personally I do not think that John is going to be dead but I could be in complete denial. At the end of the season we see Jaime and John both conspiring to take the other out. I think that even though Jaime is trying to take him out of office, he is still the governor and can receive protection if there was a credible threat on his life. Im really hoping he is hiding out somewhere while they deal with Jaime. I also dont think that John wants Jaime to go to the train station even if he doesnt want him to be alive anymore. I feel that John will always love Jaime like a son and wants him in the family graveyard. And Beth's task is to get him there before he comes back. Idk. We will see!
I foresee jamie killing john and then kayce killing jamie and then I see rip getting brucilosis because humans are susceptible to brucilosis I see beth going back to Utah with carter and I see kayce being the final man standing and him monica and tate living out their lives on the yellowstone
I love Yellowstone but the long delays and the teasers of other spinoffs like 6666 which have been promised for forever with nothing to show for it is it's own kind of bait and switch. The Costner and Sheridan on going battle has left a bad taste in my mouth. I tend to blame a larger part of the problem on Sheridan because I think he spread himself to thin. The fact the paramount didn't step in and squash this squabble make a strong statement that none of them were particularly concerned about the fans. Yellowstone without John Dutton will be a shame but ultimately the quality of the storyline will determine what I do stay or walk away. On another note I love Horizon but I hope that it doesn't end up suffering from the delays that have plagued Yellowstone. That would be one more disappointment that shows that fan loyalty is not valued anymore.
I haven’t payed close attention to all of the details that is presented in the teaser. Thank-you for pointing out the Easter eggs. I don’t think that John Dutton will die in Season 5. Unfortunately, my opinion is that Jamie will. I also think that the 6666 will premiere after Yellowstone ends.
Just when I started liking Yellowstone it ended. Just when I started liking 1883 it ended. Just when I started liking 1923 it ended! I'm not watching this s*** no more! Absolutely no follow-through!
He agreed to a pay cut Taylor couldn't work around his schedule. He has also sued the actor that plays rip of his coffee logo Sheridan ruined this show .
Honestly Yellowstone has barely touched the tip of the iceberg I don't think we have gotten that far in their lives there's a lot of show to tell. I think Kevin Costner's absence can be used to propel for more seasons of written well I for one do not care that he's gone because there's many actors that can step in and fill in like with Tombstone it ended up being a better movie in my opinion I think Kevin Costner's primadonna attitude is who we should be mad at not the producers of Yellowstone. they had nothing to do with it Kevin Costner wants to go bite all of Taylor Sheridan's shows to make his own movie that he's over there trying to be in his early thirties in. Which is ridiculous. But God Bless him Yellowstone don't need him.
