Honestly I love that it DOESN'T have push button start. Also love that it doesn't use the dumb puck shifter like the new expedition has. Some of the new technologies are just annoying and unnecessary.
For sure I am going to buy this very soon (the 2015-2019 model) Toyota sequoia platinum is the car for the future, and I am currently using the 2007 model and it's super to say the least. Thank you so much Toyota Sequoia platinum.
Folks, dont fix what isnt broken. Take from someone who owns a GM product well really two. I have two generations of the Tahoes. 2001 has 240k miles, never had to do anything to motor but regular maintenance. My 2008 LTZ bells and whistles has 217k miles, engine blew up before 100k. I still have a check engine light which disables my remote start. My back camara disables on its own sometimes. Do take it from me, sometimes not having all the bells and whistles is better on your wallet.
You really showed a lot of hidden gems in this truck that other reviewers failed to show or features they claimed didn't exist. This truck still seems fairly competitive albeit kinda dated but still a great buy. 💯
So, they positioned the radar at the center of the bumper? I live in LA, but TX next door has front and rear license plates. Won't it interfere with that?
It is old school. Hate all these push buttons. What could be better to have the keys and start the car. People became so lazy and they need push button self opening trunk stability control park assist etc. all new cars like computers on wheels that creates problems. Old muscle cars like mustangs challengers hadn’t all that, crown Vic’s, town car, excellent cars more reliable then any new one that manufactured today.
Guys it’s a TOYOTA! They don’t care about push buttons and crap like that! They don’t pay any attention to luxury! They have been making cars for so long and none of you have realized that?? Mhm that’s what I though... They design practical and RELIABLE vehicles for family’s! Give it a rest
One thing that I really don’t like about the sequoias is that there is no pass through in the middle row where that center Consol is. I wish they had a pass through with no consol as an option. Otherwise, beautiful car and awesome video!
Just a refresh here for 2018. Mainly cosmetic with the new front end and gauge cluster, and the addition of Toyota safety sense. TRD Sport is a new trim for 18.
brorowcarwiz thanks for the reply have you heard when we can expect a full redesign of this and/ or the tundra both cars are way to old especially when looking at what they compete against I was surprised to just see a slightly refresh for the both but maybe that means new ones are on the way in the 1 or 2 model years?
Could you possibly do a test drive of the sequoia? My mom had a 2013 Sequoia limited and got rear ended and it ended up being totaled and she is not sure if she wants a new sequoia or a Suburban! And i really want her to get another sequoia!
If she's going for safety features Go for the Sequoia, because Chevy often makes you go to the top trim level just to get stupid things like Blindspot monitors, which you need on a vehicle that size...When Toyota won't offer it in a package by itself and half of it is normally standard anyway
Yeah she loved her 2013 sequoia limited, but with her test driving all these new cars like suburban LTZ and A Yukon Denali and an platinum Armada and and Platinum expedition. They all have the push button start and that what’s she would like to have. And with us living in a small town our local Toyota dealer doesn’t have a lot of sequoias, but they are getting one in for her by the end of the week. And if she gets a sequoia she can’t decide on black or white. She had a white one and loved it, but also loves the way the black looks.
Dylan W Get Black,, And stay away from those GM Tahoe/Yukon, I read reviews of issues with the transmission failing prematurely, and also not being able to switch from 2WD, to 4WD
Henry Pacheco Nissan Sentra comes standard with push button start - yes! But when that module under the dash breaks down it can cost upwards of $1,000 to replace, and I don't know about you, but that's a lot of money to fork out. On a Toyota though, I wouldn't mind having one since Toyotas hardly ever have computer problems.
My guess is that since this was just a refresh, they spent more time integrating the safety systems than worrying about a thorough redo. I bet if they see sales increase, we’ll see a thorough redo. But I’m not sure.
I have a 2012 Toyota Camry that has a push button start. The fact that this 2018 vehicle does not and considering they're asking north of fifty grand for it is downright laughable
For as expensive as these are, I can't believe it still doesn't have push-button Start/Stop and the newer Toyota radio unit with glass front and touch controls, not this one with regular buttons. We have a 2017 Tacoma that has a more modern radio unit than this 2018 Sequoia.
Thank you for commenting what I was heading down here to say! If I could only keep one feature that the Limited trim adds on my car (2012 RAV4), it'd definitely be the smart key and push button. It's very inconvenient to take the keys that are tangled up out of my bag!
It's just so outdated I don't think they want to throw money into redesigning shit. It's a good buy if you buy a used 08. There good reliable trucks just 11 years old now. Hopefully a 2019 is all new
The seats do fold flat. However, the Platinum trim has a middle 2-seat configuration with heated seats and center console, while the SR5 and Limited have a middle 3-seat configuration. I have folded all rear seats flat in my Sequoia Platinum, and fit a 3/4" sheet of plywood back there.
ThePharm btw the Mercedes industry didn’t make push buttons! IT WAS SIMPLY A PLASTIC THING THAT HAD A KITTLE KEY LIKE PLASTIC PIECE LIKE ON THE KEY FOB ALL UT DID WAS TURN! You could literally take it out and use your key!
Toyota is in desperate need of Redesigning their fleet of cars....especially the SUVs (4Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Rav4, etc.) It just baffles me that it's 2018 and we still don't have push button start, LED headlights, more efficient power trains, and other nifty bells and whistles that competitors offer.
One of the hallmarks of the 2018 Sequoia refresh is the addition of LED headlights and a standard suite of safety gear that all of the competition charges you extra for, if they even offer all of it at all. Same goes for the RAV4.
Toyota finally upgrade but that upgrade is definitely poor no press button start no greater improvement in horsepower torques fuel efficiency and its third row seats can be dropped out as Lexus lx 570 land cruiser lc 200 ' landrover rangerover sports offers in seating.
Esclades 6.2l isnt that relaible compared to the 5.7l in Toyota. The Escalades AWD system is faulty. The are prones to have electrical problems and such. GM sucks ass. I know I own 2 generations of the Tahoes. The 2008 isnt and will never be reliable compared to my 2001 year. The AFM that they installed on all GM motors causes lifter collapses.
