I feel like maybe I should have picked some more positive and funnier questions for this Q&A but I wanted to finally answer some more serious questions (since last time I asked for personal questions you guys were way too polite hehe) Sorry this wasn't super fun but I hope this helped you guys get to know me a little better, and I'd love to hear your own opinions on the topics touched upon in this vid! I loved what you had to say Cari! Especially on religion and having children of your own. I am in my early 30s and constantly feel the pressure, even when I'm firm on not wanting to have children. While unnecessary comments from friends and strangers can be super annoying, I was very surprised at the fact that I myself was pressuring myself too. It was easy for me to say I didnt want children when I was 25. It's a whole other thing in your 30s though where that decision is almost final (biology etc) you get feelings of fomo etc. Lol. I am only saying all this because I 1.love to hear from women who also choose not to have children and are living full and happy lives and 2. Because I want to give you a heads up of the questioning and doubts that may arise later. That is also normal. Also random: but if you're ever in Germany and need a tour guide, hit me up sis 😊💜

The societal pressure to 'WANT' kids is so exhausting. My coworker and I were talking about not wanting kids and other lady was like "whaaaat? You have to try it at least once!" What does she meant TRY it??? Can I give it back if I don't like my free trial?

In America you can anonymously leave a newborn at a fire station, but I think it’s only if the kid is a newborn. I think you also have to leave a birth certificate? But they didn’t really go over that in sex Ed

I think it’s hard for some people to understand that not everyone wants to have their own children. I’m 30 and perfectly content with my solitary lifestyle, and running into high school acquaintances becomes painful when they have children and ask if I’m married or seeing anyone and the “well you’ve still got time to have kids!” comments start coming out. I don’t want children of my own and I think as a society we need to get out of the habit of asking women these questions or assuming that it’s the right fit for everyone.

cari cakes exactly! I read an article a few months back that said we are already beyond the point of no return for climate change reversal, we can only slow down the severity of the warming. Our government is trying to ban single-use plastics here in Canada but even that is not enough to stop the destruction of the planet and I’m not leaving any offspring behind to deal with that mess, haha

@@jarjargreens +cari cakes One of the big arguments for me as well. And you could always adopt an existing child if you really really would want one. On the other hand, at some point our sun is stopping producing energy and than all life will be over anyway, but yeah, in one or two generations the conditions on earth will already be really bad, I don't really want to do that to anyone. Ressource-wise we would need a second planet by 2050 if everyone would live like we do in industrialised countries, that paired with human accelarated climate change is really not a place I want to bring children into.

1) Absolutely stan the way you guys perceive marriage and the way you guys made it official - literal goals. Super chill, no big deal, marriage is just a big legal commitment so let's just sign some papers and get on w it. Yes. 2) Honestly, as a guy, I am SICK n tired when women are expected to give birth to a child. No is a no. If they don't want one, they don't want one - period. It is not an obligation, it's a choice. I personally wouldn't want to carry a heavy ass HUMAN BEING for 9 MONTHS just to take care of it further and teach it life skills for 18 YEARS. I found this Q&A very refreshing and insightful :) I got married early 2018 and we don’t plan to have kids either. Most typically are offended to an extent when I tell them it’s not something I want but it doesn’t mean I don’t like kids, I just don’t want any of my own. On that note, fur babies are gonna take over my life 😂

I can relate to the solo travelling part. When I go somewhere with someone, I am more anxious even if it's a close friend I am with because I'm thinking I have to ensure that he/she is enjoying his/her time. At the end of the day, I feel more exhausted than happy... so I prefer to travel alone especially when it's out of the country because I have complete control of my activities. Cari you keep making videos and you be true to you because that’s why people watch this channel! And if they don’t like what they see they don’t have to watch it your videos are incredible you do a great job of showing a side of Korea that not a lot of people get to see. I love that you mix it up between fun travel vlogs daily life and then you do Q&A is as well. You have done a phenomenal job with how you do your vlogging. I watch a lot of different people on RU-vid and I have to say yours is one that I look forward to like every week because even simple things you’re just so relatable and real and I can’t watch some of the blogs when you can tell that people are being fake and phony such as I have to do this for view I have to be extra happy. No if that’s not what your channels about then don’t do it and you don’t do that you keep it very real and relatable and honest. cari, I always feel like I can relate to you in so many ways. First, it’s so refreshing to have someone say that they don’t want kids. I’m still not sure about this myself and it feels like I’m the only one in my group of friends actually questioning something that we’ve been conditioned to believe it’s “the right way of living for everyone”. I feel so lonely about this sometimes. So thank you. Also, I can relate to the solo travelling with anxiety so much. Surprisingly I even find myself less anxious when travelling sometimes compared to being home. Last year I went to Japan by myself for the first time, while I wasn’t even able to use the train in my hometown because of anxiety just a couple of weeks prior, and it was the best experience of my life. I think a big portion of why I love travelling solo is the flexibility as well. I love your work, it’s a pleasure to watch your videos and be a part of your not-so-small fanbase. Congrats for 100k, you deserve it!

I totally understand u on your view on marriage and not wanting to have kids!! I feel the same and I actually don't know anyone else that doesn't want to have kids so it's always nice to hear people talking about it hehe Anyway I don't usually comment on videos so I'll just take this opportunity to tell u I love your videos very much and they are very calming 💕

Has a French vibe about it :) I really enjoy your videos, they calm me down, give me hope and make me happy about living close to Seoul (well, if 2,5 hours flight can be called that). And I loved your video about ghost stories! Thank you for the tips for solo travelling. I love it except for eating alone 😂 , you have covered it in one of your videos, I need to rewatch it. Also sometimes I can be very indecisive and I need somebody to push me. But this is minor compared to the freedom you have when travelling solo.

I definitely agree with your take on traveling alone. People always ask my huh isn't it boring/scary/lonely/awkward traveling alone, but no it's not. I love it. I love deciding what I want to do, where I want to go and what I don't want to do. I feel so free and content doing that every once in a while. And yes I love traveling with family or friends, but to alternate between that and traveling alone is perfect for me :) That's also why it's inspiring to see you go to all of these places by yourself!

Was literally driving to Cali from AZ when the notice popped up (to go sourcing) and just got so crazy busy BUT I still wanted to send some love and loyalty your way...even if it's late. this was a great q&a! it didn't feel like a bummer at all. i totally agree with the sentiments you shared about religion. my mom is irish and was raised very catholic, but hated how structured and hierarchical it was for her. we're more spiritual in my house so we do christmas and solstice lmao. loved the colors in this video!

I agreed with so much of what you said! Your comments about people's expectations of what steps you should be doing with your life really hit home for me. I'm the opposite of you, I dont like kids but I do want one of my own! It's hard feeling the pressure that you need to act a certain way and have certain attitudes towards things because you're a woman, or because you're a newlywed. In fact-- I dont tell most people in my life that I even want children because I hate the thought that they think that's expected of me-- instead of them seeing it as a soul-searching, and much discussed decision that me and my husband have made. Knowing that we are giving up things to do this. But, I've found much relief in trying to let those outside opinions roll off my back. You can only control yourself and your reactions.
