No words can tell you how much appreciation there is for your effort to do it RIGHT. THANKS, more than one can express. Remember, Chris and Allan are watching and will be at the gate when you get there...!!
Can't say enough about YES I play a guitar in a band at 63 and Steve was always my idol. An untrained ear guitar God. Thise guys always rocked. Glad to see some form of them is still rocking.
So many people say Billy Sherwood recreates Chris Squire perfectly, but he really doesn’t. Listen to when the bass comes in on Starship Trooper at 15:26. For Forty-odd years Squire came in with a D there, which is interesting because the guitar plays a G, so it sounds quite cool, yet Sherwood always plays a G, the root note, so it loses all that tension of the bass not being resolved with the guitar. He must know it’s wrong but does it anyway. It’s stuff line this that reminds me this isn’t Yes
No one can reacreate Chris sound. No one! Chis is Chris! And I miss him evry single note I hear from today-Yes. But Billy is a good musician, a friend of Chris. So we love him.
Saw them the very next night in San Antonio. Fantastic performance. For all of the negative comments, you weren't there, you have no direct experience. You cannot expect a cell phone video to come anywhere close to the experience of being there. Thanks for the footage!
I can tell you that it’s one of the best videos I’ve ever seen how close were you. Jeez 😊😊. This is awesome. I am on stage with the band. VIP backstage access? In the round I guess. I saw them in 1977 about this close..almost.
@Jeremy Spade Jeremy, if you don't enjoy this, you can watch Yessongs, union live, or just listen to other famous bands. Don't waste so much of your time watching this, I say.
Con todo el respeto que me merece Steve Howe, la Banda ya no se debería llamar Yes, sino Steve Howe & Cia!! Y eso que Steve Howe es de mis Guitarristas Favoritos!! 🤨🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Seeing *this* group tomorrow night at Westbury on Long Island ! Can't wait. This coming from someone who saw the classic lineup multiple times, starting in 1971/72. They sound as fantastic as ever!
I was there, too. I don’t know if you remember seeing a guy in a King Crimson shirt and a black hat but that was me. That was probably the most t-shirts of The Who I’ve seen at one time since the ‘80’s. I’m guessing they were at the show the night before
Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford and Trevor Rabin are still living. Yet Steve Howe joins a cover band and steals the band name. Unacceptable. I had tickets to the 50th reunion tour which was famously canceled due to Jon's health issues, and led to him being fired from the band. Ticketmaster offered me tickets to the rescheduled show with the new fake lineup. I passed and got my money back.
I agree, I have been a Steve Howe follower for most of my life. I even spent a week at a guitar camp with him. Total #%$#hole I doubt that Jon would want to work with him anymore as Steve’s skills have waned drastically the last couple of years. Leaves out half of the notes and plays at a snails pace compared to to years ago. Some people ripen with age. Not this guy.
@Jeremy Spade Dunno; a few years prior, Wetton was in the greatest Crimso lineup, tearing it up w/ Bruford,, then this?Kinda like ELP going from B.S.S. to "Love Breach"😭
@Jeremy Spade 🙄 it was Chris' band. He asked Alan & Steve to keep it going with Billy. The band started 1968 when Jon joined Chris' band Mable Greer's Toyshop. It morphed into YES when Peter Banks came up with the new shorter name. Chris kept it alive until his last days when he made his dying wish that it continue.
@@marcelonic1 Still not there the next day. I've seen this happen before, but it's rare. What Are Video Thumbnails and Why Do They Matter? Seen them at least 20x. Steve is the guy. On the In The Presence tour without a keyboard ( Breslin gone by then) Steve carried it on his skills. His guitar work at Portsmouth Va on Perputual Change bests Clapton, et Al hands down , best ever for me
This sounds like a Yes cover band (it is) you'd see in some bar in some town where they only have FM commercial radio that plays 'classic rock' like this, and the band doesn't rehearse very much.
Love Yes.. first time was in the round premiering Tormato...1979..many times after...there's only one Jon, Rick, Alan,Chris..love Steve but they are irreplaceable.
Hey old people ! I'm 19 and this sounds great to me ! Not as great as you in the 80's but still great ! Still better than what produce my generation ! It's a tribute band ? Okay but they were chosen by the originals members so just..shut up ? And appreciate it or just do better ? I hope to see them live next summer in Luxembourg Peace
This is not Yes....its a tribute band now...there is no energy like they use to have....should write a new song called going through the motions...literally now.....Jon Anderson...Rick Wakeman....Trevor Rabin still out there...why not do one more album and tour with Steve Howe and go out on a high note
The current Yes is obviously not cutting it! I propose a new lineup that may remind you of a past band: Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe. Bass could be Tony Levin, Billy Sherwood or the ARW bassist. What do you all think???
Ah, ABWH was the best Yes cover band ever, go figure why. I have nothing against actual members, they have great qualities, but it has became more a Yes cover band with Steve Howe... But... would they want to work with Steve again? Bruford back from retirement to play "casual" stuff? Well, maybe if he thinks his pension is too low?
@@Jay_Tee2023 : I think that Portnoy may know how to play some Yes songbook on the drums, and he can sing at the same time, moreover, he has a very good feeling with Tony Levin... But aren't we a bit egoist? Shouldn't we let 'em simply retire before things go pathetic. Do you remember the last time Lionel Hampton took the stage. Moreover, there are many young great ones, gosh, just listen to Maria Barbieri doing Fracture and Larks Tongues. Tina S. preferred to give up and focus on her sciences studies foreseeing a dubious future (better NOT be a virtuoso in France!)... Maybe should I translate Siron's book in English (errr, well, only if I'm nicely paid, c'mon, 758 pages and you have the tools to go Ligeti if you feel like doing so, and , moreover, it's easy to understand. You'd probably have to read half of Berkeley's library about harmonizing and have a hard time linking the dots while this book does it for you)... We're too affective towards the stuff we got high on when we were kids in the 70's/80's so Prog is becoming classical musing and so, by essence, is no more Prog... Thus, in some ways... Yes was highly anchored into classical, except for Bruford... Fripp probably did the right thing by disbanding KC, thus, I also had a hard time still calling it KC, it was more the 21st Century Schizoid Band ft. KC members: coming back with the early-KC songbook, well, I felt uncomfy with it: I've always preferred when they took risks!
@@Jay_Tee2023 : Holy crap, I though he passed too! I must say that I was pretty away from the music in the last years: In 2014, I stated there was nothing to do, so... I did nothing... Now I see positive moves: the vinyls are back!
THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT YES…45 years of being a YESHEAD and to listen to this monstrosity….ITS A SHAME….STEVE HOWE IS BRINGING THIS SO CALLED YES BAND DOWN THE DRAIN…they should give it up …and come back when they are more professional
@@thomasrudy6132 Yes. Was a bit disappointing disappointing. The laid back tempos of the songs was strange.. Steve Howe was great on his acoustic songs but would fall behind the beat on his arpeggio lines that is his trademark. AWR had the killer rhythm section plus Jon Anderson. Big advantage there. Now the Band Geeks going on tour with Jon next year should be amazing! Look them up here on RU-vid
@@thomasrudy6132 It's Jon Anderson.. Singing songs mostly wrote and singing lyrics he totally wrote. Its a night of YES music with Jon Anderson...With a killer band!
I wouldn't mind seeing this lineup but they don't look nearly as good or as entertaining as ARW. I saw the latter group in late 2018 in Denver, and all three of them.. Anderson, Wakeman and Rabin...were in top form and just killed every song. This group just sounds weak, and I've never much cared for this singer. Howe is losing his speed, and Sherwood is a shadow of Chris Squire. Kaye is a full level below Wakeman.
Sorry but this cover band version is pretty bad, especially the singer. Steve you’re 75 with a few good years left. Hook back up with Jon and Rick before it’s too late.
I saw the 90125 tour in ‘84 and the 2004 tour which I guess was an anniversary tour. I am sorry to say that even though it’s nice for younger folks. I think this lead singer filling Jon’s shoes is a terrible singer. He is totally off key and out of synch 100%. I saw Steve Howe’s solo tour years back and in a way that had a bit more substance than this.
With all due respect, the singer is horrible. We need Steve, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman to reform. They can invite Trevor and Billy I suppose, but it needs the first 3 guys for sure.
Furchtbar. Das Timing ist verheerend. Chorgesang out of Tune. Eine ehemals überragende Band ist nur ein Schatten ihrer selbst . Keyboards einfach nur furchtbar.
The singer is awful.....his voice is very weak and he chooses the wrong key too often at the end of verses. The band sounds good considering Howe is the only one left.
Sorry …buts it’s a sloppy version…Jon is singing too high….I know they are trying…but this is not the YES that people went to see 50 years ago….the YES back then was vibrant and in sync….This is sad…45 years of being a YESHEAD..and never did expect this….sorry …No JON CHRIS or ALAN…this is not YES
