Changing the entire Tensioner Assy. w/Pulley as a Kit is a lot of work since the AC Compressor mounts are part of the Tensioner Bracket, and the AC Compressor has to unmounted and suspended away from the bracket, as well as the AC Lines going to the Compressor have to be removed from their brackets for free movement, so as to access the 4 Bolts holding the Tensioner to the Engine, the Alternator needs to be removed as well for work space....kind of a Pain, but if you have the time and patience, no problem!!! This is about as easy as it gets, just replacing the Idler Pulley, the bolt is Reverse Threaded loosening Clockwise.... Great Video!!!
Thanks. 1st clip I’ve seen where you actually show releasing the tension on the system. Reading the owners manual (different vehicle but similar set up) I thought it had to be released by the bolt being undone. It wasn’t coming undone & I was super frustrated. 30s After watching this I’ve got the serpentine belt off & I’m now able to remove my power steering pump. Thanks heaps. 👍👍👍
What's the part number on the Ebay tensioner-pulley that you used? The pulley bolt loosen clockwise, reverse threads so the bolt tightens as the tension loosens. Not the other way around.
Well you can save a lot of time and money with just the pulley, but if the tensioner spring is old and tired you'll end spending a lot of time and money.
Pulleys for Toyotas are diff the idler pulleys diameter are smaller or longer inside the ring Gates product is the smalledest spec will be specific for dealer
