Great review. Your ability to ride these technical and difficult trails while giving detailed descriptions of the bike is very impressive.

Switch Infinity is so good in the climbs that I can’t really justify having a “downcountry” bike - which would be just ~2kg lighter… The extra weight is worth in the descends, and it is so nice to be able to ride with the shock open the whole time… Didn’t have the opportunity to try the SB140 yet, but I’m really happy with my Yeti SB130 Lunch Ride.

Great review!!! I really enjoy your video reviews and trust your take on these bikes! I'm ready to buy and new bike that will be my only one and am torn between the Yeti SB 120LR and the SB 140LR. Ive watched your ride reviews on both these bikes several times and am leaning towards the SB 120LR and some of what is helping me lean in that direction is the sheer joy in your voice as you ride the 120. It cant be denied how much fun you are having on that ride! My trails never really meander into the realm of an enduro bike, but often a true trail bike would be appropriate and appreciated. As far a fun factor comes into play I was wondering if you could give a little comparison of these two? Thank you in advance and again, thank you for the continued content!!!

You can’t fake the joy eh! That’s why I love live reviewing as it’s really hard to write that feeling into words. As you’ll have seen I ride that 120 hard on some spicy trails and I loved it. Genuinely think it’s one of the best bikes around, esp in that category. 140 is a great bike but there’s closer competition and it does really wow in the same way as the 120 in my opinion. Hope that helps, but it would be good to know what bike you’re currently riding to get some context?

@@GuyKesTV I'm long over due for an upgrade. I currently ride a 2011 Yeti ASR5 and it has served me well for many years and on a multitude of different terrain, though I do find it can get a bit squirrely over 30mph.

How does it compare against the druid v2. I had a sb130lr but found the druid v2 better in every way. Would like to hear how the updated sb140lr stacks up.

I'm not a fan of the rear suspension Switch Infinity linkage system. I prefer regular bearing pivots.

I'm with you on that - more faff, more moving parts to wear out, more maintenance, more weight, more things to start creaking- no thanks

It seems a like a really dialled bike, but does not seem to quite give you the same buzz as the likes of the Druid V2? Hopefully a current SC Bronson review in the pipeline 🤞🙂👍

It’s really refined, balanced and sophisticated in feel, but you’re right, it lacks that proper ‘holy fk what am I holding onto’ left field lunacy of the Druid. I’d say Bronson splits the difference between the two and the review is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tZLLhvCoTUA.htmlsi=DoisyyLmESL_bgaX

How does it compare to a v3 Hightower? Also something sounds really loose/rattly descending? Is that the bike or just the camera banging against chest mount or something?
@GuyKesTV
@GuyKesTV 28 дней назад
I think it was the front guard too close to the tyre, the bike is actually really quiet normally but I added that for the filming to keep the lens clean

@@GuyKesTV cool thoughts on it vs ht3? Which would take overall
@GuyKesTV
@GuyKesTV 28 дней назад
@@didzy9349 This is the verdict I just wrote for the review on Bikeperfect.com: "If you’re looking for top value in this category check out the Canyon Spectral CF7. If you want a seriously hench, hero time all rounder with internal storage and similar trailhead kudos then Hightower is probably your go to. Need smoothly neutral suspension, huge amounts of geometry adjust potential and more parcel space than a UPS van? Then check out the Specialized Stumpjumper EVO. Minimal maintenance and easy cleaning with a similar old skool MTB history? There has to be something in the myriad of single pivot bikes Orange offer to suit you. Pick the Yeti if don’t look at the prices on menu’s but you really appreciate refined quality. If you want a subtle, sophisticated bike that’s a gradual, glorious grower, not an in your face show’er. Because this SB140 is unique mix of engineered AI suspension, beautifully balanced geometry and frame feel that transcends a straight value for money comparison. And it does it by creating a subtle, but unmistakable feel that every part of the bike - including you - is just working better than it normally does. Which is lucky, because in terms of Top Turmps spec check the price stinks, and Yeti are about the only brand who’ve not done a Covid clearout sale. But then again, that alone should tell you something about the difference between value and price."

Any ride comparisons to the previous generation SB130?
@GuyKesTV
@GuyKesTV 26 дней назад
More lively but also more capable. I always felt like the SB130 was a bit close to the 150 in weight but didn’t gain much in agility

I'd feel embarrassed riding a Yeti 🪥, even if I could afford one. The feeling when someone goes past you on a £800 Boardman would be unbearable 😂😂😂
@GuyKesTV
@GuyKesTV 28 дней назад
Haha, Boardman's are the AstraMax van of MTB. There was a bloke who rode a Boardman XC hardtail with a jacked up Fox fork at the Ard Rock Marathon event a couple of years ago that smoked almost everyone. I remember they interviewed him for Pinkbike
