Distortion and E.G.O are two inherently different things, a distortion occurs when one resonates with their mind but fails to overcome it, and E.G.O is the antithesis to it A good example being Philip from Dawn Office losing his mind to Oswald and Pluto's mind tricks, despite manifesting an incomplete E.G.O before when he was determined to die to avenge his fallen friends (back at Wedge Office). Yet another example would be the chicken guy from 3.5, Papa Bongy who lost his mind after losing his recipe. Basically, although both Distortion and E.G.O are derived from the mind, E.G.O ≠ Distortion. E.G.O = Winning against Negative Emotion, Distortion = Losing against Negative Emotion Hopefully this isn't too spoilery - I reckon it isn't since it's stuff we learn from LoR and DD, hoping this helps! That first fight was the best Foreman experience I could have asked for. Mostly meta team? Doesn't work, gets obliterated. Rag-tag team of stragglers that nobody expects to win? Claws his way to victory. Magnificent.

the reason why representation emitter and what is cast hurt him so much is because if you look at his weaknesses along with the wekaness to slash he is critically weak to pride attacks too.

One is Hong Lu's brother, the other one is Gubo, a man with red glasses that Yi Sang recognizes. I don't blame you for not remembering at first, it was a very short encounter and ages ago. the way i audibly went "oooooooh noooooo" when you first showed you were bringing headless portrait to the event boss fight, the fight was doomed from the start that said i really like how he works with the minus coins thematically wise with kim becoming stronger (but more fragile) as he loses sanity and becoming weaker as he recovers it while also losing sanity on won clashes, unfortunately the rate at which he recovers and loses sp in the dungeons is so uneven that unless you have the right team it feels like making one singular mistake or having poor skill or speed rng once means losing the fight right away

Happy Birthday Manager Esquire! The birthday luck is real! Very impressed you managed to beat Kim the way you did, you're definitely getting better at the game. Also while yes, Burn was almost as much of a joke as Tremor was (and kind of still is) back in the day, with these new Liu IDs and Magic Bullet Outis Burn has become 100% more usable, though the only actually usable Liu IDs in my opinion are Ishmael, Rodya, Ryo, and to a much lesser degree Hong Lu, Greg and Meursault are basically unusable in most contexts because of their awful rolls. So the best possible Burn team right now is Liu Ishy, Liu Rodya, Liu Ryo, NClair, and Magic Bullet Outis, with Liu Hong Lu also being usable but his Support Passive is so good it's usually better to bench him for it. This team is a TON of fun but still on the lower-end of archetype teams in terms of power (Especially compared to Bleed and Poise) Canto 4 is a very mixed bag of some of incredible writing towards the end of the chapter but even I'll admit that everything before the point you ended this episode at is kind of mid with high notes here and there, but from here on the story starts picking up speed and very quick becomes some absolutely PEAK PM writing. Thankfully Canto 5 is structured significantly better and is more or less peak from start to finish, with an even more peak ending than Canto 4, and Canto 6 (Which should come out in about a month or two) is gearing up to be just as good as Canto 5 if not somehow even better.

burn is actually a fine enough archetype for focused encounters specifically if you have magic bullet outis as she gives burn a way to turn that damage over time into massive bursts, its probably fine enough without her but she is probably the biggest factor for how good burn performs

For a burn team, you have the ids. It would be nice if you got liu Ishmael so you can use hong Lu as a support. Also, be sure to use Nclair since he’s technically burn.

Happy Birthday, Foreman! Don't have much to say, really... just uh, thanks for the entertainment. ALSO, ABOUT BURN: Burn is good now. Like, really good. Granted, it takes quite a bit of investment (like most teams, nowadays) but it's strong enough to hold its own. Rodion's ability to accelerate burn dmg with her S3, Ryoshu's EGO and new liu ID, plus the previously existing MB Outis' absolutely insane kit have enabled it to work just fine. Here's the run-down of things that might be helpful if you ever want to run burn: -Liu South Section 4 Ish + Ardor Blossom Star: Great clashing, high damage, incredibly consistent. Although she lacks a little in burn application, ABS completely makes up for that and gives her a "screw it" option in the form of a 40 something clashing EGO she fuels perfectly. -MB Outis: Just MB Outis. That's it. She clashes well, but her real draw on a burn team is her unique burn "Dark Flame" which, if memory serves correctly, activates on turn end and multiplies the enemies burn Potency times it's count and deals it as damage. 4th Match Flame Ryoshu + Fourth Match Flame Rodion: Ryoshu's Fourth Match Flame is busted. It clashes well, it does tons of damage and has a really good passive. A must for most of her IDs. Rodion's is less powerful, but still strong. It's negative coin, which... is questionable, honestly, but it also inflicts lots of wrath fragility- and in case you didn't notice, most burn IDs have at least a little wrath- or have it as their big nuke skill. So both of these are powerful if you want an optimal burn team. However, you can only get them with Shards now, because they originally came from the Season 1 battle pass. My advice? Get it if you want, otherwise don't bother. Now, currently, the commonly accepted "best" burn team looks like this: -Liu Ishmael (Ardor Blossom Star/Capote) -NFaust (9:2, Fluid Sac) -NClair (9:2) -Liu Ryoshu (Fourth Match Flame) -Liu Rodion (Rime Shank, Fourth Match Flame) -Magic Bullet Outis -Liu Hong Lu [Support passive] And you can generally replace NFaust or NClair with Liu Meursault (Regret/Screwloose Wallop, Capote) without much in the way of problems as long as you have his good EGO (Regret especially, since it's generally just the most busted ego in the game, only nerfed by the fact that Meursault can't really make good use of it). Of course, you can also bring Liu Gregor or Liu Hong Lu on your mainteam- just know they aren't as good. Anyways, it doesn't really matter- mirror dungeon gifts can carry any team, really, but I'm passionate about burn, and have been since before it was cool, so I thought I'd rant. Anyways, have fun Foreman!

"[Clash Lose] After getting hit-" Which implies that you take the hit from the clash loss then proceed to whatever it implies afterwards. But yes, the biggest thing I think you noticed is that you made that fight significantly harder with those Sinking gifts as Kim gains sanity upon Clash Loss. Amazing job overcoming Kim though, with a secondary team at that! And yes, try out Liu team, don't care if Burn's not great currently status wise, they're fun and cool! Also damn, Project Moon giving you both Liu's for your birthday lol! Welcome to old Foreman, time to go yell at kids to get off your lawn. happy birthday foreman. just as a note. the season will soon end which means it will cut your crates in half as you already know. consider before the season ends to use some of the yellow crates to get a unit from this season as they are gone for the entirety of season 4 and only come back after or pick a standard season unit or potentially more important strong ego i wont tell you which are good if you wanna figure it out yourself tho. thats my 2 cents, have a good day.

Here's a bit of copium about To Claim Their Bones - counter skills have a weird visual bug, where the game precalculates how much damage is enough to kill, and it will only show you the amount of coins necessary for the kill. TCTB is programmed like a counter, so the UI showed you only three coins, while the full skill has 4 coins. I know it's not much, you've seen 3/4ths of the skill, but my Kimsault (and OG Kim) fanboy ass wants to say that the skill's animation *is* less cool without its finisher. :D Not to mention how cool it is when all 4 coins get to crit... BTW I think you had the kill on Kim with the first team if you went all out on damaging him during the turn he counters - not like it matters though, congrats! Also, happy birthday!!!

Foreman bud, if you're ever in a pinch and got Meur in your team *with* a Yield My Flesh and 3 Pride skills on the chain, you can make Meursault basically immortal to death for the turn *then* Claim Bones as he's refusing to die at 1 HP left. It's how I beat up Kim sometimes in MDH if the EGO gifts I get aren't when the stars align kinda good (The one turn immortality is in his passive, keep reading bud Also Meursault gets pissed and goes even more crazy (sanity and damagewise) as his students start dying)

So that's how Kim goes if you don't have months of investment into both the BL and MD... sounds about right. Liu Rodya is everything Liu. She has +cPw, Burn potency, Burn Count, and mass Burn infliction. She even improves single target burn damage, which is what the status has trouble with so that's nice. Liushu is just better Liu Greg. There's 6 Lius now which is enough for a MD squad, but Hong Liu is generally preferred on the bench for his support passive, generally in favour of Shootis who improves single-target burn damage to a significant degree. Should you eventually unlock the Burn fusion gift, both N-Sync and Capmael qualify for it and are strong IDs in their own right even if they don't benefit from the burn themselves.

Well at least I'm not the only one who made the mistake of getting Sinking stuff when I plan to fight this guy. Bought Lowest Star RIGHT BEFORE the final fight and it sealed my fate For the Liu IDs, only Hong Lu is truly bad (as much as I use him) due to having pretty bad clashing on his most important skills but his support passive is top tier so you still want him. Ishmael and Gregor both do a lot of damage with a lot of coins and have their own niches in that, Meursault has some good coin value and the other burn units in Magic Bullet Outis and N corp Sinclair help the team with EGO resources. The only real issue the Liu team has is healing since the healing EGOs you'd use conflict with the really good damaging/support EGOs (but that assumes you have both, so it's not the biggest concern)
