This Yin Yoga class is tailored specifically for alleviating back pain and promoting overall relaxation. The sequence moves through a series of therapeutic poses and techniques carefully designed to address the root causes of back pain. Whether you sit at a desk all day, suffer from chronic back issues, or simply need to unwind and stretch out your spine, this class can offer relief and rejuvenation.
Yin Yoga is a slow practice that focuses on deep stretching and prolonged holds of poses, encouraging the release of tightness and blockages in the body. During this session, you’ll be gently guided into various postures that specifically target the muscles along the spine, helping to increase flexibility and release any trapped energy.
You won’t need any props aside from a yoga mat or a carpeted surface. Modifications and adjustments are offered to suit all levels, from beginners to experienced yogis.
Throughout the class, you’ll be encouraged to observe your breath to help promote mindfulness and presence in each moment. You'll learn to connect with your body's sensations, creating a nurturing environment for healing and letting go of physical and emotional tension.

This practice has just the right amount of "spice" for me. I have always been inflexible, and with age, this has only gotten worse resulting in chronic low back pain! I am so glad I came across this video which allows me to really sink into the poses. It always takes me at least a minute before my body lets go into any stretch. Devi Daly speaks in a very calm and authentic way and doesn't try to "impress" with fancy bells and whistles. I feel a deep sense of trust in her knowledge of this practice. I have been doing this sequence every day for the past 2 weeks, and I'm regaining my range of motion and flexibility!

I’ve been struggling with stiff hips & lower back pain for a few weeks, stress related mostly, but also a lot of intense cycling (to get the stress out) and I did this 2 nights ago & while I initially had a hard time getting off the floor, the next morning my back was 90% better & no pain, sore legs IT bands but felt so much better!! thank you so much! Zive just done it again after cycling this afternoon, looking forward to waking with no pain again! 🙏

I did this class yesterday because my low back has been quite painful lately. It felt looser after the class, but today I woke up with none of the pinching nerve pain and only a little stiffness! The best my back has felt in weeks! I also really enjoyed the gentle warm up stretches before the yin poses - that was great! Kind of like your somatic yin classes that I love so much (please make more of those - the long ones especially - 60 min is the BEST) I love alllllllllll your classes, but this was just what I needed! 💙 jess

Previously suffered with severe, debilitating lower back pain for a very long time. Have done yoga for many years and credit it with almost completely eliminating the discomfort. Being I'm not currently having any problems, initially opted to pass on this video but decided to check it out for my daily morning yin practice. Really nice sequence! Appreciated the subtle music. Chose to do banana during savasana as well as a move I learned years ago: in supine butterfly, use the abs to assist with rolling around the edges of the sacrum. Helps to limber the pelvis, lower back. Followed this video with my own 25-min slow flow. Always look forward to your new videos. :)

@@DeviDalyYoga To clarify, the 'rolling of the sacrum' is done fully flat on the mat. Never tried it with legs up the wall but doubt one would achieve the appropriate movement as your outer knees rise and fall, slightly, as you rotate around and provide bit of counterweight. The motion is very subtle.

Thank you for this beautiful practice. I'm experiencing quite intense lower back pain, and after this practice I have much more mobility. I also felt a tingling sensation after around the sacrum, so I feel like energy is flowing better in that area. Very grateful to you

Devi, I stepped on the mat bent as if I were a 90 y.o. grandma...at the middle of the class, I felt way lighter. For the 1st time, half saddle felt amzing (with the support of my beloved bolster😎). After finishing the class : my back feels wayyyyy more free of movement, more supple. And my mind is clear, I feel calm, ready for a good night sleep. Thank you for bringing your knowledges and your amzing tips / cues to us🙏🙏 P.S. : my rebound position is constricted rest position, this is the one that works bests for my body.

I took this class for heavy legs and ended with the legs on the wall I felt my feet tingling and had an emotional release in half saddle. In figure 4 I feel more strecth with only the foot on the knee and had to scoop back on the left side. Thx❤😊❤.

Thank you so much for this class. I've had this pain on the side of my left hip for a while now (some days better than others) and now it's also on my right hip. I find bending forward a bit straining but once my body warms up, the pain is reduced. Could you advise me please?

I’m sorry about the pain in your hip that you’re experiencing. I can’t really advise you without seeing you in person, but I’m glad to hear that warming up reduces the pain. If it keeps bothering you, try to get a diagnosis from your doctor.
