wats dis? OwOboy The gweatest wevenge stowy ever told stawwing: Josh Bwolin, Ewizabeth Owsen, SamUwUel L. Jackson *nuzzles you and steals your movie poster designs*
It still bugs me to this day that this shitty remake sullied the name of the original My friends rented this in high school in 05 or so, no clue it was a legend, I stayed up and watched it again, it was mind boggling Honestly though the thing he never touched on in the review that bugged me the most was the painting.. In the original it's that idiom, laugh an the world laughs with you, weep and you keep alone..it defines his mental state and every time oh dae su is about to cry he does that maniacal smile, and it's what makes the ending so ambiguous whether he forgot or not ... And the remake just makes it a bizarre black bellhop because.. Spike Lee and black things? And has no bearing on the story? That pissed me off more than all the other things he didn't understand
He didn't gain or lose weight. He water loaded. It's extremely obvious. At no point does he look fat, he looks like a fit guy that's unhealthily bloated with water retention.
I highly recommend subscribing to adum's twitch or joining his discord if you haven't. the stream announcements go up there within minutes of a stream starting, whether they're editing or sunday streams. You can also watch the VODs of his streams on twitch.
Can we also talk about how spike Lee broke a felony law by posting those people's address. Even if it was geroges real address what he did was still highly illegal, and should be in jail right now
Legality and morality aren't the same thing. That's one of the reasons laws change. He fucked up bad and it was a really shitty thing to do, but the fact that it was illegal has nothing to do with that.
How does Adam's voice have the uncanny ability to sound devoid of any human emotion while talking, but carry so much emotion and expression while singing?
In case anyone didn’t know, the “black people on your wall” thing is a Do The Right Thing reference, which is one of Spike’s most beloved films. The interviewer was just trying to be funny.
Josh Brolin's extreme water weighting. He drank a whole 10 bottles of water one day! Josh Brolin really did put his body through a lot of stress for this masterful remake.
Spike Lee doesn't have to be too worried about someone remaking his work. He has like 3 good movies and I doubt anyone will be rushing to make them again in 10 years.
I showed my girlfriend the actual 03 SK movie (after discovering it through YMS) and then we watched the comparison video on the American version which neither of us have bothered to watch and she credits that video for sparking her appreciation and love for GOOD movies with meaningful writing and cinematography
spike lee: staunchly against one of his original films getting a shitty remake also spike lee, talking about a shitty remake he made for someone else's original movie: come with an open mind :)
Omg I want to see as many of Spike Lee’s movies “reinterpreted” as possibly, let’s get a bunch of tiktokers to star in Do the Right Thing, Doja Cat in Girl 8, a bunch of background people dabbing in Miracle at St. Anna
After hearing what Spike did to that couple, I personally won’t be seeing any of his movies. If you’re going out of the way to do something as invidious as publicly releasing someones address. I’m not contributing to him.
YMS Highlights I felt the same. I cringed hard at the whole Trump is a dangerous person at the end of the film. It was after the Charlottesville, VA protesters that were ran over.
ArtandJunk It’s not wrong to say that Trump is a danger. I don’t appreciate being beaten over the head with a message. If a film creator is not being subtle with a specific political issue or social commentary. To me it ruins the intention of the film. They should take an approach that is going to let the audience judge what is being said. Because if a film is going to tell me what to think, it comes off as patronizing and condescending.
@@josephmichel9178 I agree with you The movie was ok in general, it had a few great things to it, but the ending with the clips was really distracting and out of place. It felt to obvious and it could have been done in a better way. It was pushing too hard Btw I found hilarious that in the movie, Adam Driver and the protagonist are supposed to be the same person for the KKK members but their voices are so extremely different lol
Holy shit, suddenly I’ve picked up my excitement again for his (hopefully soon to be released) album. So glad that this channel’s here so I don’t have to dig through hundreds of hours of footage just to find snippets like those.
"Do you have any black people on your wall?" "I have some human heads mounted on my wall. I don't think any of them were black originally, but they're so rotted away, they're all black now"
Eloise Cole met him a few years back, can confirm this. Not only is he racist, he’s anti-interracial couples and basically hates everyone who doesn’t think like him
This is so interesting. Watching Adam’s creative process and what lengths he goes through for a review. This channel is doing the lord’s work. I can’t click on these highlights videos fast enough when they’re in my feed. Thank you for putting so much work into these little slices of yms!!!
Yeah it's a reference to one of spike Lee's movies, its a weird question from an interviewer cos he's assuming the actress has seen the movie and gets the reference
I'm not pro George Zimmerman or anything, like go ahead and send a violent mob to dismember whoever you want, but at least send them to the right house, jeez.
Pretty sure it's an original song. Googling the lyrics turned up nothing for any of the lines with or without quotes. And the line about "convincing himself he was straight" tells me it's probably based on Adam's childhood since he's openly gay nowadays.
@@YMSHighlights He has his Music Channel Have you checked there?? There are some really old record of songs he made that are going to be in the album so maybe this is one of those
2:25 “Are there any Black people on the wall at your house?” Why yes, I just crucified one on my wall yesterday. He really brings out the essence in my home.
I love how honest Spike Lee is when asked if he would want one of his movies to be remade. The dude is so ashamed of his shitty ass movie but he keeps putting his name on such awful projects despite being talented I honestly don't get it...
@@heartbust4624 The Italian restaurant in the black neighborhood has no black celebrities on the wall and when racial tensions start to rise between the blacks and the Italian family, Spike's character brings it up and it starts a heated conversation that leads into the climax of the film. That movie is one of his good ones but the fact that this interviewer would ask an Olsen sister that is just hilarious.
I'd rather have Hornet. Her game is coming out, making her more relevant and I think her moveset would be more interesting. Although, the Knight could definitely be a Mii Swordsman costume.
Also I love the song.. I'm trying to find good equipment to record guitar/voice for songs I have written and favorite covers. I would love to get a recommendation from you! Are you recording everything on one mic here? Moreso I mean, do you prefer a setup of one mic to record voice and guitar simultaneously, or one for voice and one for guitar? What mic or mics do you use/like best? I've loved making music for 25 of the past 29 years, so it'd help a lot! Also I'd be humbled if you'd listen to my David Bowie cover, my most recent video, but if it comes off as slimy self-promotion don't feel pressured to at all, because that's not my intention! Keep it up Adaum!
Adam you know they are intentionally picking out non-confrontational interviewers. That guy got the chance to interview them not because he showed the greatest desire to get a new, objective and critical viewpoint of the movie. He got that chance because he offers up more publicity for the movie, almost implicitly going out of the way to ask questions to make any redeemable parts of the movie seem enticing. Every interviewer they find with a mundane and predictable thought process is another bit of publicity they can garner the movie as a product and get more eyes to see it, without questioning the movie's integrity or quality too critically. Interviewers like that are basically free advertisement for the movie on whatever website, news outlet, or form of media the interviewer works for (or for the movie creators to release as teasers for publicity). They are as committed to not having integrity that they are safe bets, hired often for this exact reason, and create an interview that compliments the movie with as much bias as a commercial or trailer created directly by the studio in the hopes of coaxing people to see this movie in the hopes it is something better than it really is.
