There're so many kids and adults with glasses right now so I cannot belive that somebody would indentify them as "wierd", "uncool", or "stupid"... It's not 90s anymore, Dhar Mann...
Even when I was a kid in the early 2000s, no-one made fun of kids with glasses. Several of my classmates in primary school had glasses and no-one thought they were weird or anything, they were just normal kids lol.
You can tell Dhar Mann was either extremely sheltered or was the bully himself because no one in school acts like this and that's not how you get glasses
"What happens next is shocking" A truck carrying toxic waste crashes as it's driving by the school, and the bully gets splashes in the face with it. His eyes thankfully aren't too damaged, but he ends up needing glasses.
I love how unhinged the bullies are in these skits. If someone posted full-colored pictures of a kid around school for the sole purposes of making fun of their glasses, the students would def think the bully had some mental shit going on bc that's some next level obsession
The kid needing glasse after bullying a kid with glasses was almost as good as the kid who bullied the new kid getting informed he himself will be moving to a new school. Dhar Mann ain't joking about that INSTANT REGRET lmao
Bruhhh i remember there was a time in my school when students would wear round glasses (that dont have lenses, just plain plastic ) just cause a k-pop star wears one so i dunno why people still think glasses are unattractive, or atleast Dhar Mann still thinks it is
Yeah, no one gets bullied nowadays for glasses. I got bullied on occasion for wearing glasses as a kid, but that had long ceased by the time I was a teenager. There was a period of time when I was *very* young that you could get bullied for wearing glasses. If this skit took place in the early 90's it would make slightly more sense, but even then, the bullying would be ridiculously over the top. And I'm pretty sure no one has been called 'four eyes' since at least 1995.
With the sole exception of the mom in the Tiktok dance video, the people portrayed as teasing/bullying victims in Dhar Mann's videos are very irritating, and I for one think they should be bullied more.
storytime: when I got glasses in grade 1 (first one in my grade to get them) my teacher pulled me to the front of the class and told everyone not to bully me. So guess what everyone did lmfao. I think that teacher would fit right in the Dhar Mann Cinematic Universe lol.
i realized my issue with dhar manns content. no one learns a lesson from self reflection and growth. they only change when the problem suddenly affects them.
There’s also when someone important stands up for the bullied kid and Dhar can’t even do that well enough. Whenever someone stands up for a bullied kid, like the wheelchair girl or the girl with lizard skin, it’s never purely out of the goodness of their heart, because empathy is anathema to Dhar. No, they always have to have gone through what the bullied kid went through in some way even if their situations aren’t comparable in any way, like the wheelchairs video. Two weeks to two months in a wheelchair vs an entire life is not the same thing, DHAR.
@@kuromyou7969 i agree, every one should be ant fascist. But we live in an age of double-think, where bad organizations are given good names and slogans (violent Antifa and race-baiting BLM), no matter the good intentions if it's members. But at least Adum gives us a respite from these brain-aching concepts
i love how the guy just pulls out a pair of glasses that immediately match the kid's nonexistent prescription. i wish it were that simple instead of needing to sit in what looks like a CIA torture chair and look at images of a farmhouse through some big machine.
I love that when the entire class laughed at the bullying of this class the teacher just kept erasing the white board without a word, she really went "y'all hear somethin?" and did NOTHING
I’ve literally never been bullied for having glasses I’ve been bullied for many many other reasons but people seem to understand that im just tryna see
Apparently Dhar Mann seems to think that social status in high school is pretty fluid. He had another one that honestly made me angry about the football quarterback being bullied for needing a wheelchair for a leg injury. That's not how high school works.
That video also sucked cuz the QB only stood up for her cuz he was in a wheelchair, for like 2 weeks at a minimum and 2 months to a maximum. Not the only time this has been done but goddam does it set a real shitty precident where if they didn’t go through what they did, they’d be fine with the bullying going on.
Honestly people in general but especially women often look amazing in glasses. It’s extremely strange to me that glasses are even remotely considered unattractive culturally
I mean if your eyesight's really bad your glasses can distort your face to the point where it becomes funny looking and "ugly" and THAT definitely can cause bullying. However in movies they pretty much never give prescription glasses to the actors (and if they do they make eyes big which looks way better than small and far apart which is usually what happens irl) so it's just confusing.
Joel's got a kickstarter going to make more episodes, already raised 3.5 million...I'm not trying to bug you, if interested google Let's make more mst3k. Have a good one.
That kid does look extremely bulliable tho. Also its amusing that Adum can never pronounce Mann correctly. The fact that Dhar Mann himself shamelessly calls his followers 'the Dhar Mann Fam' is just amazingly cringe and helps me to remember the correct pronunciation.
So, as someone who has worn glasses for most of my life, that's not at all how it works. You don't take an eye test and then the optometrist just pulls out a pair for you. You get tested using various lens types, you tell them which ones you can see the best with, then they make a prescription based on that and have the lenses made. Then they take you over to pick out the frames you want, if you have cheap government insurance like me the selection is very small. Once these steps are done, you wait a couple weeks for your lenses to be finished and put into the model of frame you picked, and then they do a fitting when you come pick them up. So basically if this was real life both of these kids coulda had sick, stylish frames that made them look more handsome and then nobody would have been made fun of.
Whens the last time someone got legitimately bullied for having glasses? I've worn glasses since primary school, and have NEVER seen it happen. Edit: Also is it just me, or does the bully when he puts glasses on, look like the guy who worked at the sandwich shop, and had the gold digger gf? Related?
In this video's universe: contacts conveniently just don't exist I guess. This is the most hilarious plot hole I've ever seen, holy shit, unless every other kid who has bad eyes in school was smart enough to get contacts...
The reality is that my man would have been bullied for looking like the giga-Chad Indian dude from diary of a wimpy kid mixed with cookie from Neds declassified
I could be massively out of touch but... glasses are SO common amongst kids... do kids really still get picked on for wearing them? I grew up in the 90s and I think I was one of a very few kids that didn’t wear glasses to the point that glasses were the cool thing to wear... ... am I out of touch or is it Dhar Mann?
All I can picture now is dhar Mann in the Skinner 'am I so out of touch? No it's the kids who're wrong' thing But yeah, I'm a teacher who recently finished school anyway and I have never heard anyone bully another for their glasses
I’ve been wearing prescription glasses for well over a decade now, and when I was in school I was never bullied for it. I can honestly say I’ve never heard about or seen a real life scenario where someone gets picked on for wearing glasses.
Yea because its such a stupid and mundane thing to be made fun of and like half of the population has them so nobody cares. Maybe it was a thing in the 80s, but nowadays glasses are just normal Hell, from what ive seen of my little cousins its now a thing that kids are scared of them purely because of videos like this and cartoons even though theyre terribly out of date
@@dubiousdeliquite6641 shout it from the rooftops, cus this doesn’t make any sense. It’s such an outdated way of thinking. And what bugs me is that Dhar Mann has always used the most nonsensical things to pick on someone for, and nobody acts like a real human being.
This video doesn't even really make sense either. Judging by these kids and the math they are doing i would say they are in middle school. Im pretty sure middle schoolers mature past the point of making fun of wearing glasses for an insult. Its like a highschooler calling you a poopyhead....just what?
Aren’t glasses fashionable now? I know people who wear fake glasses because they don’t need them but want to wear them. This isn’t a thing that happens anymore is it?
I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 (I'm 23 now), and no one ever bullied me because of that. In high school and uni people even asked me if they can borrow my glasses to take a pic/see how they would look like with 'hipster' glasses on. Maybe I'm just lucky like that, but I too think that bullying people for wearing glasses is not a thing anymore.
Is glasses-based bullying even a real thing? I remember 0 people being picked on for having glasses, maybe it's an American thing like swirlies etc. though (I kinda don't think swirlies are real either, but Muricans be Muricans).
I hear people incorrectly say people's name and think that they are doing it on purpose to be mean But watching Adum consistently say the wrong name makes me realize they may just be accidentally doing it
Okay, but yeah. They would not prescribe the nerdy kid those glasses. My optometrist would not prescribe lenses for a particular frame I wanted because the lenses would actually make shit worse for me. But cinema, I guess.
About 1/3 of children 6-17 wears glasses(CDC, 2016). There's no way Fawaz is the only one in the school that has glasses. These videos seem like they aren't based on reality.
So, everyone hates this kid and makes fun of him for wearing glasses, but they go out of their way to learn the name Fawaz and how to say it correctly?
“This is the worst day in my life!” It’s not grammatical incorrect or anything, but the way the kid says it, instead of saying “of my life” really bothers me for some reason.
'Four Eyes' has never been and never will be a good insult. I thought the name 'Fawaz' is incredibly insensitive until I looked it up and it's apparently an Arabic/Nigerian name. It means "Successful" in Arabic. It means "Victorious" in Nigerian.
