"More breaks and less homework!" "YEAH, WOO!" "Yeah, alright, thanks, Frank. Just a reminder, the Class President has no power to affect the school's daily schedule or class assignments. Next up is Pete."
Kinda don't like how the boyfriend is arguing that the protag shouldn't be afraid to come out because he shouldn't be scared to be who he is. He may mean well but idk i feel like no one should be pressured to come out if they're not ready
*shows proof that there are people in the school that are openly homophobic* “Why are you so scared to be yourself, bro? Why can’t you just be yourself? Don’t you realise how much *you* being scared and uncomfortable to come out is affecting *me*?”
Jesus, the 3 main characters of this video feel like they’re stuck in different decades with their hair and wardrobe. We got 80s mullet jock bully picking on 6’ 3” surfer dude Kurt Cobain and his boyfriend from the 2010s. My mind just melted a little bit.
Theory: Frank is actually Marty McFly. He's traveled to the year 2021 to win a high school election for some time traveling purpose and uses all his 80's know-how to try and win the election. He dresses like a jock, promises more breaks and less homework, and just has the charisma of an 80's protagonist. However, he finds that his methods are for naught when pit against Pete's apparent charm and good nature, but Marty (a.k.a Frank) has a feeling that there's something off about Pete. When he goes to a fancy restaurant to meet up with a cute girl (who may or may not be his daughter) he sees Pete and Pete's running mate...holding hands! This confirms Marty's suspicions about Pete and he takes photographic evidence. When Marty brings this up to Pete the next day, it seems like the election is in the bag. After a rousing election speech (with a oddly cold response), Pete announces that he is dropping out of the race. Looks like the day is saved again by ol' Marty McFly when the unexpected happens. The students beg Pete to continue being president and openly oppose Frank. He tries to reign in control but the students are against him, denouncing him as a bully. Marty has to bring out the last resort and threatens Pete one last time to drop out of the race. That's when Pete does the unexpected and exposes himself as being gay! And they students continue to cheer for him! Absolutely surprised, Marty derides them for wanting a gay president, only to be met with cheers of "Pete for President". It is at that moment that Marty realizes that the world has changed too much for him and he goes back to his own, simpler time. But that's just a theory, A Dhar Mann Fam Jam Theory!
Well, that doesn't automatically make someone gay. People can be straight and have stuff with rainbows on them. Yes rainbows are a flag for LGBT people, as each color represents an acceptance of diversity, but that's still just a coincidence. You can't just automatically assume that people with rainbow somethings are gay, that would imply that Rainbow Dash is gay, but I don't think she is
@@alexf225 It's up to the person whether they want to get out of the closet themselves or not, or whenever they're ready. Not any outsider's force. It's not their job to decide what you do and approach your sexuality
And to think, the 50 year old bully should have been nicer to the gay Calvin Klein model…because he was secretly the heir to Disney all along!! The bully missed out on being in Cars 7
No high schoolers design their class president posters like that, they're usually just memes of the day written on construction paper. When I was in high school in 2016 someone running for class president used a fucking Damn Daniel meme for that but they couldn't write "damn" so instead it said "Dang (kid's name)".
Good actors wouldn't mind kissing somebody they are not attracted to because of their own sexuality. For the same reason, these two might or might not be gay, it would increase the price of their performance if they needed to kiss for the video.
Kissing doesn’t really exist all that much in the Dhar Mann universe. The closest you can get are when there’s just check and forehead kisses, but not flat out kisses on the lips.
Also it wouldn't really add much or make too much sense in context for them to just kiss right there in my opinion, a kiss would have felt forced to me
I want the whole school to secretly be gay and the bully is the only straight one. Yeah he's gay, we're all gay this is a gay school Bully: "Oh well damn"
I'm in a discord sever for collecting pokemon plushies and someone linked a dhar man video in the off topic channel... and people were praising it lmao
Honestly I loved how the fuckin’ bully characters only political promises are no homework and more breaks when he has absolutely no jurisdiction over that kinda shit.
I like how they have to make him say derogatory gay thinks but obviously they're not going to have him say anything actually offensive. "Fruits" OH MAN YOU GOT ME
I mean, society has gotten far in the gay acceptance department, but I wouldn't go so far as to say bullying people for being gay has been eradicated just because it's [current year]. Then again I'm not gay so I'm just guesstimating, lol
Yeah people are definitely still bullied in school for being gay sadly. And when it's not outright harassment or even physical assault, there are people giving you weird looks and being passive aggressive, or on the other side of things trying to tokenize you so you can be their gay "bestie" or at least that one gay person they know in their minority collection. But Dhar Mann's video is not accurate at all, it feels like some weird psa from the an alternate universe 80s or something. Also the kid seemed more worried about losing his precious votes from being outed than being bullied or losing friends lol
trans girl so it's a little different but I've been called f*g by full grown men in public within the last few months lol, i think we have quite a while to go unfortunately
If I ever run into Adam in real life for some reason (although we are in entirely different continents so that seems unlikely), I'm going to tell him, "I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING OFF ABOUT YOU. YOU'RE GAY!"
Just came here to complain about the stereotype that men with longer hair are gay -- this has been SO not the case in my experience. Adam is literally the only gay guy I know with long hair, every single other gay guy I've met cut their hair really close.
For the record, I'm complaining because I'm attracted to long haired men, and finding another one that swings in my direction has been like finding a piece of hay in a needle stack.
I know this is supposed to be feelgood BS but this vid has me wondering if the Mann ever went to public school. There'd be a much larger chunk of people in that group supporting the bully just because... Personally I find it hard to believe after less than a decade of graduating public school that 95% of schoolkids are totes cool with someone being gay. I lived in a city that was cool with it, too. That guy near the end was great tho. Looked like he was told to react to a shit demon.
Yeahhhh, as someone still in high school... we did have a pride charity bake-sale and there was a group just standing off to the side and mocking it quietly. It was pathetic but still kinda sad to see.
@@tei4724 depends on where you live cause at my school you got outcasted almost as soon as you wanted to bully someone. Bullying almost doesn’t exist at my school
I think it’s more that he’s writing somewhat from what he knows. That would have been a much bigger deal in the early 2000s, which is probably when he was in school. Hell, I went to high school in the early 2010s, and could count on less than one hand all the kids that weren’t straight. Granted it WAS Kentucky.
The part where the students continue cheering for Pete in spite of Frank's protests as if they didn't hear him was actually a competent narrative choice imo? It was certainly more compelling, subtle, and realistic than if someone addressed him with a monologue like you were expecting.
This is another video that perfectly encapsulates the toxic surface-level bullshit in these videos. For the most part high school kids these days don’t care about this sort of thing. It wouldn’t be a death sentence for a kid to get outted but there are still a lot of legitimate reasons someone can’t safely come out. Telling someone they should be out and proud “no matter what” can literally be life threatening. This kind of shit just makes kids in those kinds of situations feel shitty and pressured
Bruh this is similar to “Love, Simon”, although how that movie did the whole outting (which is what it’s supposed to be called, not ‘pressuring to come out’ or whatever) thing, let alone the whole/majority of the movie is way more impactful than this shit from Dhar Mann.
"I'll make sure that we have more breaks and less homework" Hey, even if the kid is homophobic, or whatever, you gotta appreciate that he's at least trying to call out the abuse of a school system. Which for the record, THAT could be a great topic for anyone, even Dhar Mann, to touch on (I'm currently writing a story where high schoolers come together to war against the school system) I'd actually watch a Dhar Mann vid titled 'School abuses students with too much schoolwork, what happens next will shock you' Even if it was one sided, and cheesy as all heck, at least that'd be SOME form of commentary that's relevant now. But after seeing so many 'follow the school rules' and 'do things the right way' vids from the guy, I expect a 'Lazy student rebels against schoolwork, instantly regrets it' vid instead. Where the failing students are portrayed as spiteful brats who are lazy gamers, where in reality, that's far from the truth on why kids hate school, more so cause they feel pressured that they won't have a future if they don't oblige with everything. And if that vid ever exists, please touch on it, cause I know I'll instantly hate it
I'd of loved it if it ended like that one episode of American Dad, the one where Stan says he has to step down from being deacon because he's possessed and the one guy says to prove it, so he just goes nuts acting possessed. Same thing with someone in the audience asking if Blondie boy is really gay cause naturally everyone is somehow blind and dumb not to see it. XD
Around 25:05 when Pete is looking all lovingly at his boyfriend, it reminded me of that scene in Galaxy Quest where Tony Shaloub is looking at his alien girlfriend and zips up his jacket to save the day. Of course, that’s a brilliant movie that doesn’t deserve to be compared to a Dhar Mann video, but that was just my observation.
Did he go to a fancy restaurant to eat by himself? He still had his backpack so he clearly hadn't even gone home yet did he go straight there from school?
