I love your vid, but I have one recommendation for others on break in. Please use melted tallow or avocado oil. Cheap seed oils are toxic when exposed to high heat. Nice rig... congratulations.

Hey Clifton! My neighbor’s driveway goes almost all the way to my backyard (they have a big front yard and I have the bud back yard) so the guys took it to the street and up her driveway. And yeah I love this pit! Cooked Char Siu Pork Belly on it yesterday!

No bullshit. Do you use all those options in that smoker? Matter of fact, do you use that smoker a lot? I’m looking at the workhorse 1975. That Yoder seems like too many bells and whistles. Was it worth it?

HI Manny. When I'm filming I usually only use one chamber or the other, because I'm only making one dish for a video. But when I'm cooking for the family and friends it's pretty common for me to do 2 or more dishes that need to be done at different temps (i.e. steaks reverse seared at 250° in the main chamber and salmon in the vertical at 175°. If you don't do cooks like that, or you don't mind firing up 2 smokers for 2 different cooking techniques, then a single barrel smoker will work just fine.

Hey again. I will be honest - I wish I had gotten a loaded Wichita or other single barrel smoker. I almost never use the vertical chamber because I have to be cooking 2 things that cook at a 30% temperature differential. And the vertical airflow is bottom to top, so you can’t cook anything in there that would benefit from side to side airflow over the top (brisket, pot or lamb shoulder, etc - anything with a fat cap). So sometimes I do fish in the vertical and meat in the main - but in 2 years that’s been like 5 times.

About to pull the trigger on a 20 to add to the yoder army, after alot of research, how have you found the heat dispersion in the main chamber? temp difference in the vertical chamber? After break your break in time of course.

When they delivered your smoker did the Fed-Ex guy not wait till you had unwrapped it and checked it out to make sure there was no damages? Or did you just sign the bills and let him go?

@@Railroad_Bbq thanks for understanding! Yes I did a hot smoked salmon cook while I had brisket in the main chamber (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UZx8fsVSjsU.html). It makes for an interesting opportunity for a dual cook because the vertical runs about 30% cooler than the main chamber. BTW I'm going to be filming another dual cook this week with the same thing in both chambers. Watch for my Father's Day episode coming soon!
