I love these tires. I run them on all my trucks and they perform great. I run them on a Chevy Colorado and do lots of off roading and they perform great. Alot or guys in jeeps are impressed with how much stuff ive gone through with these tires. Ive gone through snow storms, driven on sandy beaches, muddy logging raods and they are great.

This is one of the most balanced and informative reviews on an all weather tire I've ever watched. It was bang on my general all weather tire experience and all the research I've done. Even if you're not sure if Geolander G015s are perfect for your vehicle,OR sure if all weather tires are right for you, rewatch this and listen to the general advice again.EVERY all weather tire is a compromise but you have to weigh the compromises against your actual needs and whether you can live with them. If you live in New England and need the best winter tire or plan to do a lot of mudding and can afford to run multiple sets of tires then make sure to do your research before jumping on ANY all weather tire. I never just trust the marketing, but if you read all the reviews from multiple sources and focus on what matters most to you i.e. hwy noise, tread life, ice and snow traction, etc., and the vast majority of the reviews lean one way its likely true. In physics every time you gain something there is always a tradeoff.Excellent review, I thought the advice was spot on !

great review ! I have these on my 91 Suzuki Sidekick and the performance is amazing. where I was using tire chains to go ice fishing with my K2's , I went to the same location with even more snow and went in without chaining up. they're such a smooth handling tire be it on dry,wet or snow covered roads I'm putting the same tires on my 03 Silverado this Friday. 👍

Iv'e watched all of your videos for the G015 tires. I currently have BF Goodrich K02 tires and I put 73,000 miles on them on my Silverado 1500. It's time for a new set. Your videos have convinced me to give the Yokohama's a try. I ordered a set and should have them installed early next week. Thanks for the terrific and detailed reviews.

Rocket Scientist, great review! I just put the same tires on my 2014 Ram 1500. These are not my first Yokohama tires and probably not my last. I had them on another truck I had a few years back that I plowed with. Never had a bad thing to say about them and after 70,000 miles I sold them as used for $100 each. I tried Nitto Grappler 2 on this truck that I replaced the factory Goodyear's with. The Nitto's are junk and have NO longevity at all and were very expensive. Like you, I live in an area that mother nature throws every thing she has at you, Snow, rain, heat and cold, Upstate NY and the Nitto's have NO snow traction at all. Your review really swayed me in the direction of the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015, 275x65x20. Thanks for taking the time to let other know, or remind them what a good product Yokohama tires are. Thanks again for your time.

Thanks for the video, i feel the same way about these tires, currently i have 130,000 km's on a set and probably could get another 20,000 km out of them but am replacing them with a new set just because i have a couple slow leaks (nails) in two of them and thought i might as well just put new ones on. This will be my third set in a row and have every reason to stay with these quality tires. I've had these on f150 trucks

Thanks for the excellent review. I have had the same experience with my F150's, Jeep GC & 97' Expedition EB (in mint) purchasing all vehicles new with the Wangler junk. After that mess I switch to life long love of B.F. Goodrich KO's and Now KO2s. my kos were fine but the two sets of KO2s are wearing away at the two year mark. So I now know that you know what you are talking about,,,Moving on to Yokohama ville. Thing have changed with Wrangler GY over the years now its the same story with BF's KO2s.

Picked these up due to this video. I had yokos on my sedan. I bought that last car used. The guy had yokos on them. I didn’t even change the tires by the time I got rid of the car. Had plenty of tread 4 years later no cracks. I don’t abuse my cars or race em or anything. It was just an a to b car. Before that I had to get tires every 2 years from cooper to continental. Those tires got me through 4 winters. I got a newer truck for the northeast and ditched the sedan. I wanted to see if yoko had any options and your video helped me make an informed decision. I got these on my truck and couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait for the first snow as I only really got to test them in downpours and flooding and a little mud. Incredible so far. I think I’m sticking with Yokohama’s for good.

Have a 2014 VW Tiguan with 4motion. Was super impressed my first winter on a set of Pirelli Scorpion STRs. This winter the first snow I was spinning and skidding everywhere, very frustrated. Then I realized my Scorpions were down to the 2/32 bar (@ ~48,000 miles), whoops! Been browsing Tire Rack like a mad man the last few days, pulled the trigger on the G015s and can't wait to try them, was going to go back to the Scorpions but they were a little pricey and weren't the exact same model as my current ones anyway. Just like you say in your video, I'm not an off road junkie but do want to get from point A to point B with whatever weather is thrown at me, especially snow in western PA. Based on the reviews and what I've read I am really looking forward to these fulfilling that and lasting a long time too. Thanks for the review, looking forward to the 10,000 update.

Good review. I bought these too. I have a 2016 Toyota 4 runner limited I bought in January of 2017. They came with OE Bridgestone Dueler HT 684? tires which are quiet and smooth but lack tread depth or open channels/siping to evacuate water or grab snow respectively. I drove in snow once with the Duelers...and then I took them off. So i rotate these on in the winter from November through April (RI weather) and put the Bridgestones back on for summer driving. Two different animals completely. I find that the Yoko's aren't as smooth, obviously they are an AT tire vs. a highway all season. I do find that given the more aggressive tread pattern the Yoko's are fairly quiet. They are resistant to hydroplaning and we didn't get much snow last winter so I can't comment yet. They look fantastic on my truck. I'm driving about 1,200 to 1,400 miles a month. I doubt I put more then 3,000 miles on them last winter. I have the tread depth gage you do. I can tell you it works fine. There is no wear. My only complaint is the tires seem to give me vibration for the first 5 minutes of highway driving. I have had them road force balanced three times but it could be I am just noticing the difference between driving a highway all season and an all terrain or they might take time to heat up a bit. I have experienced this with tires before where they might get so called flat spots for sitting overnight, as my Nokian tires did this too. My jury is still out whether or not I would buy them again but my decision is based on whether or not I prefer a LT Highway all season versus all terrain not so much based on these tires performance as overall they have been good thus far. I too have driven Michelin LTX on my last three vehicles so its just different. I will debate going back to those in a couple of years. I don't mind changing the tires every couple of years as I find it fun and I don't really put much money into my toyotas anyway or enhance in any way so its just what I like to do.

Was looking to get a set of tires for my GMC Canyon 4x4 and these stood out as the next tire for my truck. I'll be waiting for springtime to make the purchase since I'll be moving over 2000 miles and new tires are on the list before I go. I've bought tires from Discount Tire in the past, and you can't beat their customer service, and by all means, get the road hazard warranty!!! Used it twice and was always satisfied with the outcome. A total opposite is NTB....NEVER will I darken their doorway again.

I appreciate the in depth review. Tires seem like a simple thing but they're a large and very important investment. I took my Tundra in for a service today and it looks like I need to put tires on the schedule in the next few months. I got 2 years and 30k out of a set of Bridgestone Dueller H/T's. Not super pleased with that. These were recommended to me at Toyota, they stock them, and I've been comparing them with the Toyo open country at2's. I'm in the dirt often, light snow occasionally and I do value the appearance of the tire. They seem to go after the same market, its a toss up..

Had a set of Yokohama AT-S on my FJ Cruiser. They were very good all around on and off road. A little rougher than stock but still good. First problem was they were awful stone throwers. Hearing stones hit the truck constantly was more than annoying. Then winter came and they were awful. Once the temperature got really cold they were downright dangerous. So I bought a dedicated set of studded winter tires and wheels. I got about 60k miles out of them (set of 5). I appears that they may have fixed all the problems I had with the AT-S. The G015 are winter rated, better side wall, better compound and I'm seriously looking at these to replace my Hancook AT-m's. These worked pretty well. Basically a little smoother than the AT-s, similar grip and just as bad on snow and ice. They lasted for the same mileage and got a little better gas milage. The big difference was no more stone throwing. How bad are the G015 regarding stone throwing?
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 6 лет назад
Hi Denis! They do pick up some small stones but the tread in my size doesn't have a wide enough gap to pick up larger stones. If you go back to the video where I was driving through gravel... when I stopped I rolled back a bit and you can see how much was still stuck in the tire, as well as the approximate size of the gravel on the road. The ones that stuck are about the size of pea gravel. I didn't experience any winter problems with my AT-S's like you did. Perhaps its just a difference between our vehicles. Thanks for your comment!

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us who are considering this particular set of tires. I'm a bit of a tire nut and am constantly shrugging off the urge to buy all of the tires and try them out! I do have one question for you though, are you running the factory size on your H3 or did you size up slightly? I only ask that because I'm running Cooper AT3's half a size up on my Tundra and though I really admire the look, the ride after 10k miles, isn't bad per se, but it is making me think about my next purchase, and I've never had a bad Yoko experience. But this is my first truck. Thanks again for the awesome content!
@RocketScientist

hey thanks! yep I stuck with the factory size. Had a little hiccup with the first set where we couldnt get them to balance and ended up with a full replacement set which i did another video on. Still going good with about 40k on the 2nd set.

Nice job! Even 4 years after your review, I think these are still thought of as one of the better mild all-terrain tires on the market - good if you want something for your pickup or SUV that’s a bit more aggressive than a highway-type tire, but you don’t want the noise of a more chunky A/T like the BFG K02. I bought a set today for my 2007 Tacoma, in P265/75-16, to replace the Michelin Defender LTX M/S-2 that I’d run for years, and, after an initial 10-mile expressway test, initial impressions are good. Noise level is no higher than the Michelins, and bump absorption seems to be even better (though the old Michelins were pretty worn, so that could be down to the fact that the new tires have more rubber on them). Steering effort is slightly increased - perhaps on the order of 10-15%, which I like. We’ll see how they do, long-term.

@@mariosac130 no complaints, at all. I think you will find them to be far quieter than what you’re running. I have about 10,000 miles on them so far, and I like everything about them. I bought a set for my 2018 F150 for towing my trailer (27 foot 5200 pound dry weight) in the winter months down south. I knew I needed good snows for travelling in the snow/mush/wet leaving Ontario when I go south in the late winter to pick up the trailer that spends the winter in Florida. (Not this year). 2 years on I find them to be all you said and more. I did a lot of research cause down south you have very hot asphalt or concrete highways when you travel from Fla to Cali. After 15 thousand trailer miles they still look good as new and I only had to hit 4WD once to get around a wet grassy RV park. Not cheap, $217.00 CDN each before tax, but well worth the expense. Not great on ice but few are and those that are, are soft. Soft is no good on Texas concrete roads when it's 80F. Just wanted to toss my 5 cents worth in here for your readers (we don't have pennies in Canada) and happy if it helps anyone.

Curious what kind of pressure you are running on these guys. I just bought them after your review, and am very happy so far. Thanks! I have the P rated so I am running them about 3 psi higher than the door jam sticker states. Due to salt on the roads I can’t do the chalk test here in NY yet. I know yours are probably the LT since your blocks look a bit bigger, but curious of your input over stock. This is my first set of All terrain tires, I have always run All Seasons

Our mini Cooper countryman all wheel drive has the at s that you use to own and they rocked in the snow. They keep traction well. They look like they are wearing a bit. I am considering the new at version on our f150

Rocket Scientist we bought the mini countryman all wheel drive used with the tires on the car. The previous owner put work into the mini with a 2 inch lift. I was lucky enough to be able to drive the car in the snow a day or so later after buying the car. I purposely tried to get the car loose on a side road with no traffic and I could not get it to break loose. The tires have wear on the outside tread of the tires. The wear is definitely from the vehicle mods and not to mention my wife's driving style. She loves her car and pushes it at times. I love how aggressive the tires look without being too rediclous. I am thinking on our truck with no modifications they should last close to what yours would last minus a few thousand miles due to off-road driving to lakes and mountain places and back country road driving. I may end up with a set of these.

I just bought these for my F150. 275/65R18 H speed rating. They are replacing Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Not really fair to compare the two but I had issues with the Nitto’s. First set was warrantied out because they couldn’t get balanced well and had high road force. The second set didn’t shake nearly has bad but after multiple attempts to get them smooth they still made the steering wheel shake. So far the Geolanders are smooth. The sidewalls definitely feel softer and I lost some cornering performance. They also do squeal in a moderately hard turn like you described. The Nitto didn’t do that. I’m waiting for rain to really test them. The Nitto had no wet traction.

I have the same size tire on my 02 Tundra. After market wheels on it when I bought it. It has Hercules muds on it now and they absolutely destroy the ride. Ive narrowed it down to these or the Falken Wildpeaks AT3W’s. I think you just sold me though on these. Exactly what I need. I never go off road as much as I thought I would but, if I need to take a ruff trail through the woods to get to wherever, I’m sure these will get me through just fine. I worry mostly for road noise, highway, rain, and especially snow. I’ve had a 03 Wrangler with Kumho at51s and then Wrangler Duratracs. So if I can get through those noise wise, I’m sure these will be fine. And you make tire reviews actually enjoyable. Normally it’s some jack that says absolutely shit for nothing. Shut barely talks and doesn’t know how to talk on camera.

@RocketScientist

I never had the KO2's, but on a previous vehicle I had the old version KO and also a set of Trail T/A's. BFG's just seemed to wear out and/or dry rot way too fast. I only got an average of 2 years out of BFG's before I had to replace them. Thanks for your comment!

watching his video to get another point of view and not for the review. I've actually owned these back in 2017 and let me say, the price has gone up about $40 per tire. So as far as price it has almost matched with other tires that are considered M/T so bang for buck is not a thing at this point in 2022 especially with all the price gouges in almost every category including gas... As far as my own personal review/opinion, these tires are perfect for light off road and like you've mentioned, rain. Rainy days are such a ease and these tires can almost do it all. off road a bit and save you gas on the road versus thick mud tires. best option out there for the average joe that wants the best out of an everyday driver vehicle.

Well, I'm going to buy them for Ford Transit. Rear would be 225/75 and I wonder if I should get the same for front (it's RWD) or go with 205/80. Rims are 16" and 6,5" width. What do you think?
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 6 лет назад
Maciej Załucki I've never been a fan of different size tires. I know people do that, but for a transit it might adversely effect handling, center of gravity, gas mileage, the whole smash.. I'd stick to factory size, or at least all 4 same size. Tirerack.com has a nifty calculator where you can see how each tire size effects your speedometer as well.
6 лет назад
Most sites don't have transit or have values for just a vew versions and there were a lot of them. Original tyres for mine are 215/75 but there are no all-season A/T tyres for it (it has to have load index 113 or more on rear axle to be legal). That's why I decided to go for 225/75 (/70 also not available). I'll get some measurements to see if it will fit on front axle but it should be quite similar. after all it's just 7mm adde to diameter.

I have a 2 Wheel Dr., Honda passport and I'm going to be needing new tires soon, I do not go off road every once in a while I might have to drive through the grass or a little bit of dirt but it's 99% pavment would you recommend these tires for city driving. The tires that came on the vehicle are going to last maybe 35,000 miles I would like something that would last considerably longer. We do get a lot of rain where I live and a little snow.
