Got 11,000 miles and 3 1/2 years on my Geolander AT G015s and they look pretty much brand new. Rotated once at about 10,000, but no uneven wear, even with a FWD/AWD car. No road noise but I've got 215s on a CRV, so they're small. Does just fine on curvy mountain roads and wet asphalt.

Man, I keep telling people over and over again, GET THE YOKO AT G015s, but they always end up going to Duratrac or KO2 and end up unhappy. The G015s are the latest and greatest whereas the Duratrac is technology and compound from nearly 10 years ago.

I'm not hating on these Yokos because I have never driven with those on, but so far, I'm happy with my K02s. Maybe when these run out, I'll get G015s, but not everyone hates the BFGs. Maybe in your neck of the woods, people don't like K02s, but in Phoenix, I know more people running BFGs and they seem to love them. I haven't ran into anyone who runs the G015s, but I definitely would like to hear their opinion whenever I run into someone who has them.

Rocket Scientist, I agreed with you 100%. I'm impressed with these tires. I have them on a 2014 Ram 1500. We have had a couple of snow falls so far and I find myself not using 4WD. I have never once felt out of control. Like I have mentioned before, I had Nitto Grappler II tires that were useless in the snow. I would recommend the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 to anyone looking for a AT tire that may be trying to decide. I did have issues with buying a tire that wasn't made in the US, but those issues have been resolved by the performance of the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015. Thanks again for your review.
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 6 лет назад
Num Nutz Yeah I don't feel bad. I've given every US tire maker a shot over the years, and NONE had lasted longer than Yokohama. They'll need to bump their quality game up considerably for me to switch back.

I love my Geolandar's. Thanks again for your first video that is what sold me. I drive a 2013 Toyota Tacoma and they out preform my old BF Goodrich. I have about 12k miles on my set and I'm still very impressed with these tires. One day I hit some black ice and broke free, I had a good angle going on I corrected my trajectory and man when they grabbed.... they grabbed. Under normal driving conditions these tires will not break free, however just like all tires when you have a lead foot your performance will differ. I tell everyone looking for new tires give Yokohama Geolandar's a try and you will NOT regret it.

Thanks for taking the time to do this--the other thing is they are about 10lbs lighter than K02s (for my size small rig), if you are going to do 50% offroad, ok, do the KO2s, but these seem to be a great 'swiss army knife'--appreciate the point about flat spotting, weird.

Eh bro, my last pair of tires were the Yokohama s, and I am thinking of going back, up here in Canada Alberta and we get lots of "winter" weather and i have a hyundai santa fe, and its alright hasn't let me down yet tires I have now aren't even on the radar, Maxxis 711 bravo a/t's and they are not as good as the yoko s average, but that thing about crossing lanes over that hump and feeling secure its exactly what I felt when I had mine. Also making your own trax when in fresh snow ❄ 👌 similar. Great video!! That's tight you got new tires and got things sorted. Cheers 🍻, for now.

THANK YOU for these videos of your Geolander A/T G015 tires. You may have saved me a lot of money! I owned BFG A/T KO2 tires on my old truck...thought they were "good" all around. But, they were never "great" at anything...off-road, on-road, snow, rain, cornering, braking. Always priced high. Went through two sets. Anyway, I now own a 2014 Silverado LTZ 4x4 and am putting a 2.5" Rough Country leveling kit (and rear blocks) to get more ground clearance, ride height, "proper" truck look...and switch to a larger A/T tire (I am running Michelin LTX MS2 on them now). Those Michelins are great on-road tires...but, boring (IMO). So, with the addition of the leveling kit, spoke with a local tire dealership and priced out BFG A/T KO2 tires...wicked expensive (for the "upsize" I want). Then I priced out the Geolander A/T G015...$500 less. So, appreciate your review and taking the time to upload videos on this tire!

I purchased and installed these tires on my 2004 4runner 2wd. I wanted quality tires but not too aggressive since I wouldn’t try to take it anywhere where I would need 4wd. I got P rated 265/70/17’s. They look good and ride great! I was wondering how they do in the snow since it looks like it has aggressive snow tread. I hear the Yokohama makes excellent snow tires. I could have gotten Goodyear ats all terrains or copper all terrains. The Goodyears looked cheap and didn’t look to last a long time. Still looked like a capable tire. The Coopers looked like better all terrains but not too good with larger spaces. The Yokohamas costed me about $200 dollars more. I thought that the other options I had which were at $700, 200 more wasn’t that bad of a deal. I could be wrong. Overall I am very happy with how they are. I don’t notice noise since I have cars with cheaper tires and a truck with mud tires. Seems nice and quiet to me! Thank you for the snow review!

Hi there, thanks you for your reviews! I've seen all of your videos regarding this tire. I was impressed with your 68'000 miles on the g012. I'm really close to buy it. I've a smaller car compared to yours, a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. I live in Switzerland and snow is common during winter time. I have also to deal with roads that climbs very hard. In your experience, how will perform this tire by climbing in the snow? Consider slopes up to 20%.
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 5 лет назад
Thanks so much! I haven't really done much snow climbing, but I have driven a renegade before. With as light and maneuverable as your vehicle is, you should be OK, especially with the extra capabilities of the Trailhawk package. If you need something more aggressive, the G003 looks like a winner too!

Just my 2cents. I have had 3 sets of Geolanders on my 1999 GMC 2500 4x4 reg cab that means the truck has a 8' bed and very light back there. I live in Indianapolis IN the midwest of good ole USA. The last 2-3 winters have been mild as far as snow fall. On streets that have a right turn lane it may or may not get plowed so snow gets pushed by the plow and cars as they drive by so it can get 10"-14" deep. I put in 4 wheel drive and drive right thru it, I try not to stop because I don't put extra weight in the bed and don't want to get stuck. Matter a factly I haven't ever gotten stuck in the snow with these tires. I have the same experience as Rocket Scientist not being pulled or slide on accumulated snow in between lanes and in the center of a lane. Now on wet pavement on a round about or a very sharp S turn, with a light ass end and heavy in the front because of the engine I have slid straight instead of turning. So weight balance of your vehicle and road conditions play a important part of style for each condition of driving surface. All in all I will keep buying Geolanders for me and my wife. She has a 2010 Toyota 4 Runner and putting on her 2nd set of Geolanders on tomorrow so I will have spent $4k on these tires over the last 5 tire purchases.

@gutteherr
@gutteherr 6 лет назад
Once again, great review. I feel the same way. Currently at about 27,000~ kilometers on my set. Traction is still as good like when I first got them. These tires wear really well. Also, I think the "wobble" is due to the fact that it is a softer compound, to remain pliable in sub zero temperatures. The old G012's had a harder compound. So when your truck sits for a few days, it so to speak "settles." And then it rounds out again at speed. I also have experienced this.

Do these Yoko G015 tires get out of round / flat spot in warm to hot conditions too or just in the cold? I live in Phoenix with 0% chance of sub zero temps. I'm looking at these tires for a Jeep Wrangler, it can sit for days, sometimes weeks at a time which is why I ask, it runs 30x9.5 15's - have Michelin LTX tires now that are 8 years old, tread is still great and I've really liked them, best tires I've ever owned but they are no longer made in that size.

You should clean your windshield super clean on a nice warm day, then apply a coat of car wax to the windshield. It will bead up the rain so much that you will barely need wipers in a downpour at highway speeds. I use a synthetic liquid on my car (Klasse All in One), and I use that on my windshield also (Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze may also work). It was an epiphany for me, but I later found out others do that also. Plus, your mud and snow won't stick to the windshield as much either. :-)

Getting these on my 2009 Honda Pilot. I am looking forward to the better control making lane changes on snowy freeway. The Michelin's i have now were good but always got a little skittish changing lanes at speed on snowy freeway. Thanks for review, makes me feel like i made the right choice. I will up date after i go over Donner pass this weekend with expected 6-12 inches snowfall.

Nice! Looking forward to what you think about them
@TheSkystrider
@TheSkystrider 3 года назад
Depends what your previous tires were (winters or not) and your vehicle. Heavier vehicle and most any snow tire is going to be as he described with changing lanes. So his review is helpful, we know they offer similar winter performance as a basic/good winter tires. Which is precisely what I'm looking for in an all weather rated tire. So I'm probably going to get these myself!
@TheSkystrider
@TheSkystrider 3 года назад
Even when I had a light little Toyota Celica with basic Nordic tires I could Cross Lanes in a blizzard (fearing for my life) and then I'm like "oh that was easy, the tires didn't find that a challenge". So anything that doesn't give us this capability is not good enough for winter :)

Do you think these GO15 handle a lot better in snow and heavy rain than the Geolandar GO55?
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 4 года назад
Just looking at the difference in tread type and depth, I'd say definitely. The G055 looks more like a sport tire in comparison.
@swaha55
@swaha55 4 года назад
@@RocketScientist What does that mean? They won't handle very well in snow and heavy rain? I don't need them so much for off road but I want to be safer on heavy rain and snow to avoid accidents.
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 4 года назад
@@swaha55 you asked if the g015 handles better than the g055 in snow and rain. Never owned the g055 so all I have to go on is a picture of the g055. Based on that, I would not go for the g055. I sometimes have to drive through a foot of snow or more, so it just wouldn't work for me.

Thanks for your video. Now let talk about these tires i love them.i just had a big storm in ny .my cousin has them on his jeep and they were great in the snow .No problem in snow. So mine is coming in the mail After i saw what they can do in a bad storm.I got them on ebay with a coupon 100 off my size is [ 225/65R17 big tire] . I paid $480 on ebay from discounttiredirect. And the installer only $60 to put them on total $540 . Everywhere i looked { costco walmart mavis and others} all over $730 plus to get them .So im happy with price. ok now let me help you guys how to make them last even longer. Put this stuff called [303 AEROSPACE PROTECTANT ] on the inside and out .put it on the outside every 2 two 3 mouths .And they will last much longer and save you money. tires get bald faster when they are hard and dry this stuff keeps them softer and gripping better on the road for you. you will love this stuff. hope that helps love you guys .

@jenifer357
@jenifer357 4 года назад
I've had Subaru Foresters for 12 years and had a few different tyres. The older AT-S was amazing and I now have the GO15 fitted. These are the best snow tyres I've ever had, even pushing through snow deeper than the bumper. They handle superbly on road as well. I teach off road driving (using Landrovers) so know a bit about getting around off road. There are big differences in 4x4 vehicle performance in snow. Look for your vehicle on RU-vid to see if there's a snow test. As I'm sure you know, driving on snow is something that has to be learned. I find a lot of people could do with some instruction. I don't know what level of experience you have or what vehicle you have, but in my experience I wouldn't buy anything else for my vehicle!
