Everyone has to have something new, as if what they had is broken. BDU and DCU are both very fine camo patterns. US Special operations units still wear both patterns, mainly to look cool and different.

I think the original worked better, the bigger the pattern the less it turns into one big blob colour at distance and the extra coyote brown colour is quite effective at blending into even wooded backgrounds

Shame, I love the vibrant green for moss+lichen and fern coniferous forests Norway and Sweden use. They're entirely useless where I live but they're just sweet and right up my alley when it comes to just colours alone.
