Something you will never see, the police take on our local group of medieval reenactment lot and smash us, we did another one were we thrashed them but i need to find it #police #riot #medieval
Lol this community is called historia normannis. There are several groups across britain and we pride ourselves in accurately depicting combat from the time of the normans. However as you can see, sometime we do sillier things for a bit of fun. 😂❤
@@Templari777 of course. I believe the age limit is 16, 14 if supervised by an adult. 16 is also the age you're allowed to start using steel weapons instead of wooden wasters. This might vary across regions but I doubt it as they're all usually under the same reenactment regulations. One thing to note is that the hobby is based around education and entertainment, just as much as it is competitive combat simulation. Hence you have to work your way up to using better weapons. When you first join you can either learn war club, axe or a knife (accompanied with a shield). Alternatively you can just learn to use a 2 handed spear. However as you participate in shows (events where groups meet up to perform larger battles for an audience), you'll "rank up" and be able to depict higher class citizens, and hence use better weapons and equipment like swords and armour
Hello Andrew :) Yes he did ! We did another one where we smashed them ( I flanked this time ) Didn't get this one recorded though unfortunately Cheers for commenting :)
I don't know what I expected, but this was really heart-warming to watch. I see law enforcement and civilians interacting positively and fostering trust in the community.
@@benjamiah i’m pretty sure that’s the point of the game because the second he got tapped with the baton. He knew to back up so the point is that it’s a pretend sword.
@@Jamali7 don’t worry lads if u find yourself alone in green fields with the sun on your face do not be troubled for you are Elysium and you are already dead.
as a member of the SCA this was definately staged (alot of fun to watch) but nights would never have easily let that officer flank you would have ahd the knights on the end points turn to face the flankers oncoming...these larpers did well but forgot basic combat rules and let the officers in to break the line.
Imagine being a cop, and you get a call from the tipline that the Norse have returned, and you have to brandish your family's dane axe to protect your police regiment (I strung a buncha stuff together from memory. Kek)
If you're being alerted to the norse returning, then you are likely not norse. If you're not norse why would your family have a danish axe? (danish = denmark = basically norse)
rioters would be thegermanics, underarmored but fierce, not that disciplined but passionate. officers are the disciplined, well-trained soldiers of Roma. @@RajaIsThatGuy
XD i mean really that would be like a buckler which is great for 1v1 work however in a line you would get decimated as your legs are exposed to spears and stuff.
@@ZombieTeube a higher level of training anyway. You'll notice how the ones with the large shields are mostly just containing, even the guy who turns the line nearest to camera starts that way. This is because initially British riot training is about containment. Only when you have more experience do you move onto the smaller shield which is better for more active use.
This was very wholesome and nice to watch. I can really appreciate the fact that all the people here were just having fun and all that, which is really needed in the hard times we live in.
Imagine a movie or TV show about a group of soldiers and police officers transported back in time to mediaeval england some riot police and Royal Marines during the norman invasions or something like that
Glad theyve got time for this. They dont even respond to phone calls about active murders (a whole family was killed here in Norfolk a few months ago because the police point blank said they were too busy to respond)
"Totally Accurate Battle Simulator", it's a goofy game where you place your units against the other dudes units and they battle it out like babies who've learned how to walk for the first time@@MoisTeaGaming
Not exactly, ultimate battle simulator is more like rpg kind of style while tabs is more of a "you might win you might not, if you do the same thing 50 times in a row you'll eventually get it" while UBS you need to change your strategy. Its all physics based. man youtube really loves to give notifications for other people's replys but not those replying to your own comment.@@MoisTeaGaming
A few of the folks I play airsoft with are actually police officers or ex-military. And playing with them is honestly the best. They’re also super nice. So I can already relate to what these guys are feeling
Just think about this. The Romans came up with that famous shield tactic meant to protect an entire battalion from arrows coming from the air and it’s so effective that it’s still used to this day for riot control. Same as the Aztec death whistle, they overdid it so much that it still scares people to this day
Also unrelated but I need to watch more of your Great War western front vids, I can’t seem to defeat reinforced mortars to capture enemy control points
Iv done lots and lots of them 😂 they are in playlists on my channel , Hope they help , any questions I'm happy to answer :) Please leave a fresh comment though , not a reply or I might miss it you see , fresh comments pop up , replies don't
Okay unironically they cops with baton and shield would be at a disadvantage against a person in armour with sword and shield. I don't see a baton doing great against even a thick gambeson
no that is very true, however I don't see many people of the public wearing gambesons tbh XD I wonder how a taser would do through it, with chainmail as well , sounds like a myth busters episode
@@MoisTeaGaming Lend me a shield, Ill bring the gambeson and chainmail, and volunteer. Though I think I’d have to come back to the right side of the atlantic.
Good times, The same kind of stuff use to happen with us Amtgard players and our local RCMP back In Wildgard...gotta say though you let em win lol. If these were my men We would keep tight and wouldnt give them an inch lol
They probably would have just been regular knights/foot soldiers but put in charge of keeping order and stuff or something but idk these are just my assumptions, tho they probably would have been equiped with man catchers, I've seen a few vids about man catchers.
"We can't keep losing command posts like this. You have to fight hard to win." -- Lord Vader, first of his name, bringer of order, peace, justice, and security.
The way that officer flanked them, just imagine if he was stone cold trying to kill them with a shortsword in that moment, the screams and panic as four or five guys beside you are suddenly buckled over with a mortal stab wound straight to the liver. It just goes to show that every era of warfare has its own special flavor of horror for those involved. In WWI, you saw the conditions in the trenches and no-man's land. In Vietnam, you could be butchered from any angle at any time. But for medieval combat, you have to look another man dead in the eyes as you both try to get an angle on each other around a shield and the first one who does is gonna prison shank the other like a feral animal.
