1) Technical expertise: this is how well you execute scales and runs, but also includes your rhythm, timing, style, and other subtle nuances
2) Ear Development: how well you have trained you ear to both hear what another musician is doing and your ability to hear when a chord needs to be used
3) Vocabulary: how well you have memorized chords and scales to the degree that you are no longer thinking about it. In other words, the amount of chords that are in your long-term memory
4) Creativity/Innovation: how well you can come up with harmonic and melodic phrases that borrow from the ideas of other musicians. Your ability to change or continually improvise how a song is played.
