They never promised a open beta. They did have a sign up for a closed beta test back in august last year that did occur, we just are scrubs and didnt get invited. My best guess is the announcement about no open beta was a response to the massive wave of requests for one.
You could literally go to US and try for several days the game at the various Cons they presided as a normal person doing a queue of 30 minutes or less, added to the fact that the so promised “beta” was a closed beta which did took place last year, you just had to sign up and hope for the best.
Judging by Skill ups video its clear those demos released at cons were specific to those machines. Skill up got a demo and played but couldn't show it off but explicitly said it runs terribly and that was a year ago I think. So I would say its not ready for demo ports just yet but we could see one released in the coming month before release. Wishful thinking. ngl this looks like an optimization nightmare. Best advice is to wait for streamers to play it. pull the trigger if you like what you see.
@@sotv_3525 strange you say that. I received mail 5 days ago that those who signed up for online public beta before June 28 will receive in game skin instead.
The preorder stuff will probably be available to everyone after a short while. Remember recon helmet for Halo Reach pre order? It was technically just early access to an armor piece that was relatively easy to unlock. And if not oh well the harder to obtain cosmetics will outshine the preorder items eventually anyway.
more then likely and I remember. True I hope they release a bunch of different armor plates the other thing that worries me is the color schemes like metallic type looks or brush type strokes are going to be locked behind some pay wall since they are taking into account you can paint figures.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. I am expecting the game to have some major catch that ruins it. We just can't have a good 40k game, it seems.
AhnoldRunningMan, if you want to learn more about the lore, I suggest going through the lore vids by Arch and Luetin09 on RU-vid. They have tons of great content. There isn't a real good starting point , as the lore is just too dense for a linear approach. Just dive in to those vids and it will make sense to you after a bit. I also recommend the audio work of 40k short stories by A Vox in the Void, and Aborder Prince YT channels to get a taste of the written works.
Problem with current 40k, and I've started to notice how major politics is slowly 🐌 getting involved in mainstream media is that people behind mainstream media are making mediocre stuff. If you want a prefect example of this, look at star wars series. It use to be fantastic sci-fi series until it was sold to Disney and alot of femininist is starting to input their political beliefs into series thus ruining star wars. I'm worry that warhammer 40k is slowly 🐌 starting to get into this issue. Look at the witcher, and to some extent Marvel cinematic universe. Most recently in warhammer 40k they added a female custodians in-which they anger 😠 most of the fan especially the fact they added a female custodians without a proper retcon or explanation. Me personally I don't mind seeing and being a personal fan of a awesome female protagonist, hell I welcome a female super soldier in warhammer 40k. The issue that I'm noticing is that these political obsessed freaks are ruining media by making a half-bake story and expect it to be popular. In my eyes 👀 these people are stright up lazy to put in a good story.
THIS! its not the "woke" that's killing games its 100% the Laziness of not even bothering in making it have actual depth. it feels like check mark and dust it off like "welp, I did my part." You know what's scary watching meme lords create better story telling then the actual media today. It's not cohesive but they actually add depth to just down right dumbass videos but there's depth. Perfect example Pootis Engage I am not kidding.
I really hope there are options to equip the original bolter and bolt pistol instead of the Primaris bolt "rifles." The whole design of the Primaris and their weapons are bland and uninspired, and a bolt "rifle" makes zero sense to anyone that know show the bolt guns actually work.
