This has to be the most comprehensive video about acne treating ingredients on youtube. Thank you
@le_th_
@le_th_ 3 года назад
Agreed, although I would politely edit that comment by saying OVER THE COUNTER ingredients because there are some absolutely extraordinary prescriptions and laser treatments (and some clinical chemical peels) that can be life-changing for people with acne vulgaris that is cystic. Accutane Spironolactone Retin-A (I do not recommend tetracycline, minocycline, etc. because they eventually destroy your gut bacteria and that's a whole can of worms you do NOT want to open or learn the hard way like I did) Then, there's also unbelievably effective laser treatments like... IPL combined with photodynamic therapy w/levulan (a miserable 10 day recovery in the dark, but beyond worth it: better than Accutane). Microlaser treatments There's something else called Isotaz, which I haven't personally tried (I've tried all the above excepting this one), which is said to be amazing and effective, but that needs to be discussed with a dermatologist (as well as everything else above). However, I was shocked to hear it requires 6-10 treatments, but the upside is there is zero pain, no downtime, and no sensitivity to sunlight afterwards (very much unlike Photodynamic therapy combined with IPL). Honestly, as someone who has had to deal with treating acne for the last 40 years (and new treatments have been made available as years turned into decades), there is no reason that anyone should have to deal with acne today unless they don't have access to medical treatment where they live. This isn't every treatment, but just examples of how much more is available than just the slow, tedious process of over the counter ingredients which tend to be far less effective on moderate to severe acne (especially cystic acne).

I've finally cleared my acne and I'm so so happy about it. I just changed my skincare routine to something simple which is double cleansing at night, using naicinamide, retinol and then moisturise after. I don't wash my face in the morning as well, I just use Hyaluronic acid, moisturiser and sunscreen. Also I recently found out I'm lactose intolerant so I cut out milk and it did really help with my acne. I just have little scarring from past acne but my skin is completely smooth, clear of cystic acne and glowy! Edit: I also use 2% salicylic toner in my night time skincare routine

I’d also like to add an ingredient to your acne tier list: harsh cleansers. Growing up and even into adulthood, I thought the harsher the cleanser, the better it will work for my acne. I would even leave the cleanser on my skin for 20 minutes or more to really try to degrease my skin and pores. My acne just stayed the same or often, got worse. A couple years ago I decided to try a very gentle cream cleanser with no soap or detergents/surfactants added. Before switching to a cream cleanser, I had been on Retin-A for a couple of years so my facial skin was not too bad but I was still experiencing breakouts here and there, but what was worse was that I constantly had these cysts form in my neck and I ent years with always having at least a couple in my neck all the time. When I switched to a cream cleanser, within days my face was so smooth and the small breakout I was still having went away. Yay! But what I couldn’t believe was that these cysts in my neck that I had been getting since my children were born went away and has never come back. I went from having at least a couple big, red cysts (angry looking but deep) on my neck to nothing. And to this day I have never had another cyst on my neck. IMO, harsh cleansers damage the skin barrier. Even the gentlest lathering cleanser can irritate some people’s skin if it’s really sensitive. So although harsher cleansers is something most people experiencing acne will reach for, in my experience, it made my acne much worse.

Purging isn't bad, it makes you break out all the acne that was going to appear over the coarse of a month, in 2 weeks. Which makes it faster. So imagine Having a dirty closet, you take out a small portion of the mess everyday to clean and throw out. And you do that for a month. Versus taking out a big portion in one week, yes it will make the room look even worse, but that's only because a lot more is coming out, meaning you get rid of more of it faster. And then you sort that out, throw it away, and guess what, you have way less of a mess left in your closet. Hope this helps. (:

Another factor besides diet is that acne can be an allergic reaction! I thought I'd just share my experience since it seems to be an uncommon one - I had pretty severe acne for 5+ years that I thought was hormonal/genetic but after seeing an allergist it turns out it was actually caused by hereditary allergies in the form of skin allergies (not dairy/gluten allergy which was suggested in the diet section but more like... I was allergic to 30+ things including humidity and spices haha)! I also had symptoms besides acne (dermatographia, "goosebumps" etc) so probably if you just have acne it wouldn't be this type of allergy but just sharing in case it helps someone else! I'm halfway through taking immunotherapy medication and it's done miracles for my skin.

Hey guys! Love the videos, thanks for everything you share here, it's all awesome! I'd love it if you'd consider doing a video focusing on skin care while pregnant/nursing and maybe share some tips on how to help with the hormonal acne most women experience during and after pregnancy.

anecdotally, I find that my zinc pca serum works great as a spot treatment quite consistently, especially with inflammatory acne, so I'd give zinc its credit, it's a tier 2 in my books

Congratulations guys! Fantastic video. Very informative and well structured. I'm sure this will help so many people who are struggling to understand what they need. So many products on the market are all hype and no substance. What you've done here is a game changer. Thank you for taking the time to do this. We appreciate you more than you do us! Personally your advice has changed my life. I can now look people in the eyes instead of bowing my head because of breakouts. Sending you blessings and love from England. xx THANK YOU

@@mishasharma1126 do you know the price of that? It's three time it's worth..let's not get carried away here..shall we? You guys are hysterical. So 2 of my kids have mild acne. So how would all your recommendations fit into a routine? 1. Cerave SA cleanser 2.? Benzoyl peroxide? 3. ?Azelaic acid? 4. ?retinoid? 5. Moisturizer I'm not sure what order to tell them, or are some of these not to be used daily? And retinol should only be used at night right? So much information leads to more questions!!

My dermatologist gave me Tretinoin (apply in PM with lots of good moisturizer) & Benzoyl Peroxide w/ Clindamycin (in the AM with moisturizer & sunscreen) Both were great at stopping my acne and getting rid of the dark scars. When I was planning pregnancy, he took me off both and gave me Azelaic acid(PM) and Clindamycin in the AM (w/o the benzoyl peroxide) and it kept my face clear. It just take some time but my face definitely got so much better. Bonus part on retinoids, it keeps the wrinkles at bay too.

First thing I tried for my acne was salacylic acid and it didn't work ( i tried the ordinary one and some fresh salacylic acid products than the Paula's choice one ) , than i tried differin for 4 months and it didn't work my skin get even worst with it , than i started the benzoyl peroxide 2.5 cream it worked for my acne but my face became so red and inflamed and i stop it after 15-20 uses , than i saw a video about sulfur and i bought it , it worked for my like magic , after a week my mom told me what did you do for your face it's not red anymore and you don't have so much acne like always , I'm using it for 2 months , i use it at first 2 times per day as a mask i started with 10 min than 15 than 20 , after 5-6 weeks i use it just one time at night for 20 min and on top off acne if i have a new one

Low carb diet is tier 1. My son went zero carb, his skin totally cleared up in a week, after years of chronic acne. I have suffered from hormonal acne for 20 years, finally fixed by going keto. Insulin resistance is high insulin = acne. If spironolactone works for your acne, keto diet or Carnivore diet will work.

Hating coconut oil is also another extreme. It works great on many people's hair (not scalp) and it actually penetrates the hair shaft. It's been used for hair for generations in South Asian cultures but the whole trend of putting coconut oil on face and body, which is ridiculous, only started in the west
