You’re probably eating too much sugar and you don’t actually realise. And look no judgment, I probably eat too much as well and the reason why is because it’s sneaked into so many foods

Thanks for clarification on the fruit thing. I thought that fruit was still sugar for the liver to process. However, you have explained it clearly with regards to polyphenols and fibre. I don't feel so guilty about eating grapes now. Fantastic informative video.

Thank you! Is eating 5-8 servings of various fruits daily healthy? Will that be too much sugar? What is the recommended amount of fruits per day?

Can you tell me where to get a video designed for a child or person with dementia to understand, telling all about what sugar does to your brain? My mother, with dementia, craves sugar. She is somewhat obsessive about things, so if I could shift her obsessive tendency to reject sugar and carbs, it would help her. Knowing what has sugar or carbs is a challenge for her.

My Mum has FTD and her cravings for sweet foods has increased a lot She always like chocolate but now she will over consume it. We encourage her to eat berries and grapes that are naturally sweet whilst she still enjoys chocolate. Good quality chocolate is a better choice and if possible gradually move her towards dark chocolate with a 70 % cocoa content. Cravings particular sweet ones are symptoms of dementia so it is something you have to accept but can help to manage. Blueberries are thought to be a powerhouse for brain health so I would recommend them Good luck. 😊

@@nicolagraham9489 I feel that obsessive tendencies and lack of self-control are part of dementia. It seems to be a game for my mom. She’s like a child who thinks she’s being cute. She will eat sweets at every opportunity and sneaks them when you aren’t looking my dad seems to think that she should be able to do whatever makes her happy because it’s too late to stop the process now and she’s only going to continue to get worse. I guess I’m fighting a losing battle.
