Rapid air is a fantastic product I have installed for a costumer that had a black iron air line that rusted through. Had a short piece left over is installed in my shop now.

Thanks Kyle, I have been trying to find the best air system for my shop and your time is great. Checked out the link and was surprised at how cheap the kit is. This is the system I am going with. By using a 90 where the plug is in the back of the manifold I think I can mount the lines in the wall for a cleaner look. Thanks again.

Hey Kyle cheers for the review. I have seen these kits but they are only in the box and nothing on display. I have always just assumed that the blue coil was just a plastic composite that would be a pain to run straight and would look untidy in the shop. Now knowing that it is aluminium lined and can be straightened that makes it way more appealing and great value. Cheers mate with out your review I would never given them another look. You should look at the polar air dryer. I have the polar air 7.5HP air compressor and dryer and it never puts moisture through the line. I also have the maxline. Great setup and you get a good deal on it ordering with polar air. I had a 3/4" airline made with swivel ends to go from the compressor to the maxline on the wall I'd recommend that to everyone. You must always use a flexline from the compressor to the hardline. I use ball valves to divert from the air dryer if I'm just filling up tires or doing a few minutes of work.

I used the same material: in italy we use that kind of material for water and gas domestic lines, with a dedicated corded crimping tool and it's certified up to 20 bars (I worked with a plumber for some months a couple of years ago and i discovered it); there are different kind of that material, you can recongnize the difference by the price and the code printed on the pipe itself; there's the 10 years, the 30 years and the lifetime certified one. I looked to the price in the link: OMG, here that material is a lot cheaper😳

PEX is what’s used for plumbing. It looks just like this, however this is PEX-AL-PEX tubing.

Careful with some of these kits the inner diameter is not the sizes displayed in some of these kits. Check if it’s OD or ID that’s being advertised.

I agree, that’s why I side up invoice what I want. So if I want ¾” air flow, then I get the 1” line. Also, I’ve seen people use PEX, what makes this better than running PEX-AL-PEX? Sounds very similar but with nicer manifolds and gaskets on the crimp fittings. (All my thoughts, did not do research)

Years ago I got the ban hammer from garagejournal.com for posting pics of my shop air piping done with PVC. All I could afford at the time. It's been that way since 2014 and hasn't exploded or killed anybody yet. All that said, when I get around to upgrading the nearly 20 year old air compressor I'll use one of the MaxAir kits or a similar product. Cool thing about using huge air piping is it adds a marginal amount of air storage to the system.
