An apartment complex in the sky for my NPCs; the spread can take over the world for all I care, but so long as My People are safe, that is all I care about.
I just bought the pc version today, and it is so much more fun than the console and mobile versions. The gameplay is the same but the controls are just so much easier
did you know that since 1.4 the bee mount has been buffed significantly, it can fly to space and you can use weapons with it now. great for skeltron and the wall of flesh in my opinion
tipp, you can prevent corruption and crimson from spreading by placing a barrier made out of raw ore, the corruption cant spread trough raw ores because it cant convert them into corruption/crimson blocks.
@@dylanyeary3732 someone missed the point of the vid? its things you should build before HM in order to prepare FOR HM. meaning the designs should be HM proof.
If Harpies gave you so much grief.... Then don't built platform. Built a _tunnel._ Every 3 step or so, built a block roof above you, and block yourself when you see harpies. Even if they spawn inside tunnel, that should be one or (if you unlucky) two harpies you need to deal with without the risk of falling down.
I'm surprised that heart/Mana farms for boss arenas wasn't on the list. For those interested, it's an enclosed area with just enough lava to kill enemies, but not enough to destroy items. Hook up a bat(or other working mob statue) statue to a 1 or 2 second timer. When turned on, bats should spawn, die, and leave hearts/Mana behind. I usually put 4 around the arena. This gives a way you can heal while still waiting on your potion cool-down.
One problem with pre hardmode hellevators. They can be overrun by the lines of corruption/crimson and hallow that spawn when you defeat the wall of flesh.
yea, I realized that was one of my biggest problems, so I decided I could instead make my own pure biome bottles, and then when I had access to the clentaminator, I could use the green solution to purify the underground, and make my own underground biome bottles too.
@@silverviz5600 This. I haven't tried myself but bricks stop corruption and crimson. I don't know if a hellevator lined with brick will have the V shaped corruption just stop at the brick or go through it and corrupt past it anyway.
@@dizzydial8081 i don't think so.......but corruption can spawn in your base..........so better not make an hellevator..........just only make a shield for your needed buildings
If you are a ranger, you will need shroomite, which requires about 700 (sorry if Im wrong) glowing mushrooms for the armor set. Thats why you should have a farm running since preharmode. To build it you place mud platforms with 1 block spaces in between. Plant mushroom seeds Then actuate the whole farm, and leave it off. You can remove the actuators. The mushrooms will grow, and because the blocks are transparent, they will immediately drop as items. Just make sure to pick them up time to time P.S. if you build it above the surface, you can build a house nearby, to get the mushroom npc
i must say you dont need to have it running since prehardmode man, i made one 2 days ago and within 1 playing session i got around 700 mushrooms, it grows quite fast!
@@xyzzy-dv6te hmm yeah if you use em for that its smart to start early! I use bosses to get the potions myself , i find to have too many almost all the time and do the bosses anyway to farm weapons and such :)
@@spacenoodles5570 no i looked up the wiki and Saw that it was easiest to hand farm if you did It in rows of 3 and then a walking space, i havent used hoiks yet altough it seems fun, it was not needed for my Playthrough
Hey just in case your having a hard time finding life fruit use a spelunking potion and look for little sparks it will be a life fruit trust me even if it does not glow
A giant tunnel, 7 blocks wide, going under your base and making two Hellevators on the sides to prevent both Corruption and Hallow. Edit: Wow, He actually included that.
I always get some holy water when hardmode starts and I start spreading the hallow all around my base so I don't have to move npcs that like the hallow and they are protected from the corruption/crimson and the hallow is beautiful and has great music.
My Favourite thing to do before hard mode is crafting the night's edge, molten armour set ,defeating king slime, and get the saddle, obtain the goblin tinkerer NPC,make a afk farm. And that's all.
Great video. But there is something major that is very easy that you forgot. A MONEY FARM. That should be on the list for sure. I mean, if there was a 100 platinum cookie pet, wouldn't you want it?🍪
Does it Attack no no dont just "idk" me i want to know this Does it give inf. Buff does it attack and does it have a super bright light? Cause i dont need sleep i need ANSWERS
Happy Happy! I know this comment isn't really related to this video, but I'm finally early and wanted to comment this idea. For a new series in the future, try a flail playthrough. I don't think it would be possible with unmodded Terraria, since there aren't many flails, but I could be proven wrong :). Yoyos don't count, since I think that they count as their own class. Also, for a character going along with this, perhaps it could be someone who was cursed by Raven, and has to break it by killing both the frost moon and the pumpkin moon events to the last wave. It would add a new challenge, as well as having to set up traps and such. Of course, this is just an idea, but I hope some of you at least look through it and find it interesting. Have a lovely day, and of course lots of cookies :).
Flails are a request I see come up quite often! I wonder if they have enough power to defeat Skeletron and Wall of Flesh (flails tend to be weaker early on) 🍪
Well I hope you get some Lauri :). And yeah, there aren't many flails early game, so perhaps there is a mod out there that adds some. I don't play much with mods, so unfortunately I have no clue XD.
Indeed they do! Mods are great, with so many creative additions that people have. I can't imagine how much hard work they must have done to get something as huge as Thorium or Calamity, or even some of the smaller ones. Anyways, hope that everyone has a wonderful time, I'm off XD.
It's smart to build a farm in the dungeon to farm ectoplasm and some other nice items. Definitely do it before hardmode because the dungeon enemies in hardmode will make building your farm very difficult.
2:13 its a shame this doesnt work anymore, since everytime you destroy a demon altar, a random block is corrupted or hallowed to facilitate the spread. I hate this so much because I dont have anywhere I can go underground now because most of it is corruption or hallow, sometimes BOTH
@@troit1550 the thing is, this random spawn can spawn anywhere regardless of anything, which is what I hated the most about 1.4's update, it can spawn right a few blocks away from your base without you even knowing it.
Everytime I start a world, evil biomes just keep spawning in my jungles, so I go to creating a new one on the otherside of the dungeon entrance. Even make a mushroom biome as well.
Personally I like to make an asphalt runway across the top of my world instead of minecart track or runway because it is a lot faster and useful for defeating moonlord as a ranger.
A sky rollercoaster will get you places quick, and once you're in hardmode, you'll have a wyvern to welcome you to your destination on almost every trip. ;)
To stop corruption or hallowed just use an ore because they can get passed ores like tin or lead but it won't work with sand because it runs the sand going under neath
For anyone slowly going insane building hellevators and are open to mods, there's a mod called 'Fargo's Mutant Mod' that has a craftable explosive called the 'instavator'. It takes rope coils, torches, dynamite, and desert fossils to build, and when deployed, creates a fully-constructed hellevator all the way to the underworld instantly. The walls are lined with grey brick (incorruptible block), there's rope going all the way down, and torches every few blocks to light the way. After having dug 3 hellevators by hand+bomb, I caved and got the mod. Gathering materials for the instavator is faster and much less painful than manually making hellevators. Fargo's Mutant Mod also has a lot of other useful features, such as increased inventory stacking, ability to catch npc's in a bug net (so you can drag them back inside before they die), npc's who sell boss and event summons, and a lumberjack npc who sells an axe that makes enemies killed by it drop wood upon death
1. Heartreach isn’t a Hardmode potion 2. The water duplication trick works without halfing a block 3. *Crimson/Corruption 4. What about non-surface Hallow protection? 5. Can also look into other potential protections, such as thick-enough linings with non-convertible blocks (I personally like to put ropes along the Crimson/Corruption side of a 6-block Hellevator for both protection against thorns on the surface & to give something to hold onto if you want to go up/down and don’t want to use grappling hooks or something) 6. Watch out for other enemies that can phase-thru blocks, teleport, etc
About this "filling the fishing pit with one bucket" trick, one doesn't even need to hammer the block. Just place 6 blocks in a J shape (or a mirrored one) and just pour water on the shorter side. And yes, I have tested this in the latest PC version.
2:10 wait does this mean the spread of coruptions stops when planteta is defeated. Cause ive been spending on every single one of my world building hellevators
My favourite thing was the number 2. I have been searching so much on youtube how to stop the corruption from spreding and they all sucked. Thank you very much for the video happy!!!
This is more of a tip. But there's actually no check if a crate was fished up pre-hardmode. So before you enter hardmode, you can fish up a ton of crates, and only open them when you enter hardmode for a nice early game boost. (Crates in hardmode have a chance to contain all the ores you can get by destroying alters, saving you the trouble of braving hard enemies just to get the basic armors)
1:00 heres what ive found: you dont actually need the U shape, you can just have one block and hold down left click (with water only, you have to time it for honey/lava) only downside is when you stop you cant easily refill your bucket
Ideas for new series Wendy the wizzard (mage) (overhaul) (calamity) (prefix) (thorium) Xeno the cyborg, NEW CLASS (uses only electrical and mage weapons) (overhaul) (calamity) (prefix) (thorium)
To easily stop the corruption/hallow/crimson is cover any grass that can be easily corrupt with bricks so they can’t be touched and sand can be turned into corrupted, hallow, and crimson full blocks so you have to make a giant outer line for deserts
I like to build everything pre-hardmode to avoid having to deal with hardmode enemies. I Even try to build what I can for hardmode specific situations so that I have less work during hardmode itself. My current WIP base will include: An Old One's Army arena, A boss arena, a mini jungle, either one desert with sections for each type, or separate deserts, A main base, themed homes for each NPC, a hellevator, jungle farms, and a portal network linking it all together. I may or may not make my plant and statue farms in the same world.
You don’t need a souls farm, farm king slime in the hallowed, corruption, or crimson biomes to get large amounts of their respective souls. Use a slime statue for the slimes, and fish for platinum/gold, although the hard part is rubies, you can use spelunkers potions for that.
Tell me about it. I'm on a large world, and I haven't even covered half the underground yet. The underground jungle having those special trees is news to me. It's one of the areas I've somehow explored the least. Went out of my way to explore the bottom of the ocean, never bothered to really explore the jungle.
for a soul farm you can also kill king slime in a corrupted/hallowed biome to get each respected soul also the king slime spawns slimes as you kill him which also drop souls so it is a effective way to get souls
