I didn't do this when I first started coin roll hunting. I eventually did tho, and had to back through my collection and "audit" my errors and varieties. Took a few days but it was mostly fun.

As a fisherman never trust what others say the fish are biting fisherman are a cutthroat group they want to keep all the good fishing to themselves I always go with a wide variety of baits and lures and never leave without a big catch

I love researching things, and yes, that's half of the hobby, if not more, in my opinion. I have a Barber designed token from 1886 that I saw examples on NGC, but I couldn't find information on it. Finally, I found a small museum website with the original ad of sale for that token! So it's not an easy path always, but that's the fun to me. Thank you for your resources as well.

I wish those who are always posting "Is there something wrong" or "Do I have..." would take the time to actually LEARN what the minting process is and is not.

Great info as I still look at coins but I've leaned hard on paper cause what doesn't go into the set I can use to tip my self in front of the mirror

There are the obvious errors and known errors but you need to know how to differentiate the parking lot - clothes dryer - wishing well and purposely vandalized coins ! It can be hard and very time consuming buts it good to know !

Looking at some of these "errors" . . . my opinion: Lots of "shaky" undertakings by US Mint employees for profit. Particularly off planchet "errors". Security and inspection at the mint must be weak.
