I made this soup with purple sweet potatoes and the Hungarian black peppers that I picked from my container garden. The soup took on a vibrant purple shade, but it still tasted like a sweet potato soup should. My mother taught me to have fun with flavors and colors in the kitchen, and I’ve always been grateful for that advice.
Andrew, I’m just discovered you today and found that by having you on my TV for three hours straight. I’ve almost cleared my desk sorted papers filed stuff learned some great new recipes and I have become your best new fan in Arizona!! I’ve also told all my friends about you. Thanks Andrew! Another Sunday morning with a great recipe…that I can actually make today with things I have here. No butter beans, but have some chickpeas. Love that you ‘discuss’ afterwards, thinking through the main aspects and how to sub to make it work for you. Tickles me with tiny whisk antics on your vids. I’ve used tiny whisks for 40ish years…they’re the first ones that come out when prepping. My daughter told me she uses hers more than any other tool… Look forward to these every Sunday! I'm relatively new to the channel. I appreciate how you take your time demonstrating how to create the recipe and leave the commentary to the end so you can take notes if needed. Do you have a video on how to cann, for beginners, some of the recipes you make? Especially any stocks, soups, or broth you make. Do you have a play list for the jazz playing in the backgrounds of your videos?
Sweet potatoes, butternut squash, acorn squash, pumpkins... all so delicious and work beautifully with this! I like to add some chili to mine (or my bowl at least).

🤤 oh my goodness. this checks ALL of the boxes that I love: affordable ingredients, quick/easy, ingredients on hand/available, and simply delicious😋 I just made this a little bit ago and have placed containers into my freezer for lunch. I subbed with chickpeas, which I love and always have on hand, and then dumped the roasted vegetables into a pot and took my immersible blender to it. Not as smooth as what the blender would do, but I like some of the chunkiness. Thank you, Andrew! 🧑🍳
Your recipes remind me to roast my vegetables in the oven more often!. Such a good idea. The soup looks delicious. Tiny whisk surprises again. From being an escape artist like Houdini (ok, it needs a little help from a friend, but nevertheless), it is also a painter like Picasso. Impressive. I can imagine that this was the beginning of Picassos art. Climbing down from a very dusty attic, missing the last step, falling on the floor, getting up and thinking: "Look at that, looks like an angel. Interesting. "
I have been veggie for 36 years so try to make sure that I get plenty of variety in my diet. If you always put garlic in your daily food you will start to be bored, I have noticed that you sometimes put a dried for in too, is this because you are finding somethings taste bland? This soup looks gorgeous I will try it. Birdy Birdy
I'm definitely going to try this with butternut squash! I might swap out the coconut milk with oat milk. But I think I'd like to try it with coconut milk first
I've loved your videos since I found your channel a few years ago, but find the new background music too distracting. Am I the only one? I have to watch them with the sound off and subtitles on, which means I'm missing out on the prep sounds and the sound of your voice - which were a big part of what I enjoyed about your videos before.
I can’t get the cookie settings to toggle to the right. I can’t tolerate any more cookie cookie cookies there has to be a better way. I love your site I think you’re great but I don’t want tons more advertising. Let me know how to get rid of the cookies.???
