Yes. It's a requirement to British Standards. In section 1.0.23. To really annoy Americans/Plumbers/Refridge Engineers, it is good practice to leave a sharp, scar producing piece of plastic or metal somewhere on the installation. Preferably in a loft or other insulated space, such that the wound gets infected and the dripping blood will be traipsed through the property, annoying the customer until the first aid kit is found. Refer to section 2.4.90 regarding first aid kits for electricians. In this section, a wide range of dressings can be found, from black tape, to grey tape, including blue, brown and occasionally white. However, green and yellow must not be used, as a bleeding body part is NOT an extraneous metal part, and thus should not be identified as such.

North America uses 120 volt household circuits. Therefore, for the same kind of things being supplied, the current level is twice as high. So the Wagos are operated much closer to their rated current. Even good sparkies sometimes forget the formula, I^2 x R. Why this is a factor is because of a "less than great" connection of a push in Wago has a bit of resistance. Now when the current doubles, the heating becomes, 4 times greater because it's current squared. The end result is that with higher currents using the 120 volt standard, the inherent weakness of Wago, makes it self known. The clamp style Wago addresses this to some degree. Current rating is about 30% higher as the surface contact on the clamp style connection has a much larger area than the push in style. Wagos have been known to fail in North America. Hopefully, I just explained why that is, even when in UK, issues are unheard of.

The black cable in the bottom on the box, is it the ground Cable? How does it installed in the ground? If you have videos about it please put the link here.
@stephenwalker6823
@stephenwalker6823 5 месяцев назад
There is one cable feeding that box and another going back out to another box. The Ground (Earth) connection looks to be provided from the black (sleeved green and yellow) core of the incoming cable and, via the gland and nut, from the Steel-Wire-Armour of the cable. These are also linked to the outgoing cable to continue elsewhere. The cable itself is suitable for burying in the ground without further physical protection - the SWA protects it from being easily cut through with a spade and if something (such as a fork) were to penetrate it and touch a Live, there would be a dead short, between the Live and the armour, tripping the circuit out immediately.
