Today I'm doing what I'm always preaching by getting out of my comfort zone and heading to Sukhumvit in Central Bangkok in search of some authentic Thai street food.
I headed to the famous Ruam Sab Market in Asoke, which some claim to be the best Thai street food market in central Bangkok, to see what the fuss is about!
Talat Ruam Sab (ตลาดรวมทรัพย์ อโศกมนตรี) is MASSIVE! I mean it's really big. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but there must be 100 different Thai street food stalls here!
It was difficult to choose from all the different shops but I settled on Northern Thai to start, where I had Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiow (pork in tomato broth with rice noodles), Hang Lay (Burmese curry) and Gaeng Ho (leftover curry noodles) all cooked by a lovely couple from Ching Saen in Chiang Rai.
I then had Nam Tok Gai Ob Ong (spicy chicken salad) with Khao Mok (yellow rice). It wasn't exactly to my taste but the chicken and rice were great, I just didn't like the larb seasoning that much.
Last up was Bamee Kiow Moo Daeng Moo Krob (egg noodles with wontons, red pork and crispy pork). It was very good but I was far too full by then!
The whole feast we had came to 250 THB - £11.45 / $13.95 which is crazy cheap with the centre of Bangkok!

This is a prime example of why I love Bangkok so much. There’s just so much food to explore here! Whether you are in Chinatown, the Old City, Thonburi or here in Sukhumvit, you can always find amazing Thai food in Bangkok
