The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.
@Benjaminarmstrong684
@Benjaminarmstrong684 4 дня назад
Financial consultants can help by recommending investments that outpace inflation, such as real estate or certain stocks. A client of mine followed this strategy and saw their savings grow by 15_% in just two years, effectively countering inflation.

Ken, is confusing a passport with a visa. Some of these places on the cruise need a passport, but none need a visa for a short stay. Turks & Caicos is not an American territory - it is a British Overseas Territory. You need a passport if you want to get off the ship. To go to the Bahamas, normally you need either a passport or a Passport Card, but I just checked the RS cruise description and they are going to Half Moon Cay only in the Bahamas and for that you don't need a passport on a closed-loop cruise. Holland America cruise line owns Half Moon Cay which they bought for their cruisers, and it now belongs to Carnival, the parent company of Holland America. St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands and you don't need a passport IF you are coming directly from the U.S. But you should have your government-issued ID (driver's license) as well as a copy of your birth certificate because sometimes you need proof of U.S. citizenship to leave St. Thomas (or any of the other USVI.) A passport would provide both of those. Most ships are not registered in the U.S. I can't believe any of the RS people are telling people they don't need a passport to go on this trip - but maybe they are letting them know they can just stay on the ship without a passport. A passport is always the simplest document to have to travel abroad as it shows identity, citizenship and U.S. residence. In addition, for any international travel not to U.S. territories and ports, your passport must be valid at least six months after your arrival date and some places also require two blank pages in your passport. Do your research, and the RS people need to make this perfectly clear. Nothing will be more disappointing to the cruisers than to think they are getting off the ship when they are NOT without a passport in at least a couple of these places. (We've been on over 30 cruises.)

For the question on the 15% (since it wasn’t answering what she was trying to ask) it sounds like they may manage their money separately. Each person would put away 15% of their income. A good way you can validate this is correct is if you total what each person’s 15% dollar amount is, that total will match the 15% dollar amount of the household total.

Never put work before God. God tells us to stay out of debt. We disobey him by not stewarding our money, then neglect him by working to get out of it. Put him first and he will see your goals through. My husband & I been chopping at our debt over the past 20. Years,,,we are almost free, and we haven’t skipped worship or Wednesday Bible study or any other function in our 23 years of marriage because it is there where we grow and get strength to keep going. We have 4 kids. How can we provide an example of being faithful by skipping service to work to pay off debt… Hebrew 10:25 tells us Not to forsake the assembling of ourselves. We can’t fix our disobedience of mismanagement of our funds by disobeying the command to worship and assemble. It’s like covering a lie with a lie. We repented for not being good stewardship,put a plan in place that’s working, BUT serving GOD even more!

Does anyone know why the Every Dollar budget has a category of "Debt" that cannot be removed? The other categories can be deleted and I'd like to delete that one, too, since we have no debt - but the best I can figure out to do is to move it to the bottom of the categories. I would think that RS would make it possible to delete that category since they still advocate using Every Dollar even if you have no debt.

So, the singer should stay out of politics because HER life bears no resemblance to the lives of her fans, many of whom are scrimping and going into debt to buy the $1,000 tickets to see her in person. Field bulletin: NO concert is worth that kind of money unless you are independently wealthy yourself. Jesus did not say to be temperate - that is a teaching of the Mormon Church, but it is not in the Bible as something Jesus said. There are numerous verses in the Bible about being temperate, but the main one that is quoted is I Corinthians 9:25 that states that those who are seeking mastery should be temperate in all things. (That is the wording of the KJV translation.) However, using the quotations on being temperate from Scripture have NOTHING to do with financial affairs. All of Scripture teaches against debt. You won't find any verse that encourages financial irresponsibility and debt. The only context in which debt is used for the Christian believers is debt to Christ for salvation and to each other as members of the Christian community.
