#thelifeandsadending #theaddamsfamilytvseries #munsters Mini bio about actress Carolyn Jones who was most famous for playing the part of Morticia Addams on the 60's sitcom "The Addams Family".
My trademark is really more of a branding thing for youtube. However I did coin a phrase that ended up being copied by a thousand youtube channels trying to cash in on my success. My lawyer said I should trademark it, so I did.
She was so pretty. I enjoyed watching her in different roles. But The Adams family Morticia character was spot on and one of my favorites. The entire cast was so good. 👍
I loved The Munsters! Kept you laughing 😂 I mainly watched the reruns. I didn’t really understand The Adams Family. I was too young to remember when they aired in real time.
@@metalmike570 Because…. Sutherland had what to do with The Adams Family?? Or are we just randomly listing off people who died recently? Why not include Willie Mays?! He was a baseball player and had fu#& all to do with TAF but hey… let’s just list off random people.
What a great talent she was. I didn’t realize she was married to Aaron Spelling, nor did I make the connection to her broad and diverse work. I loved her talent. Thanks for enlightening me.
Great video on Carolyn Jones, but you forgot to mention one important fact, not just about the Addams family, but the Munsters as well. Both shows premiered in 1964, when most network shows were still black & white. By 1965, the ratio was half color, half black & white. The 3 networks agreed to switch over to all shows in color by the start of the 66-67 season. Unfortunately for the Addams family & the Munsters, they both had huge sets that were designed to be filmed in black & white, and the cost of redesigning the sets for a color picture would prove to be prohibitively expensive, & the ratings weren't high enough to justify the cost, so it was easier for both networks to cancel both shows, since they already had accumulated just barely enough episodes for a syndication package, & showing reruns was pure profit...
Hi Steve! I remember Carolyn Jones very well. Her acting was superb, whether it be movies or sitcoms. Wasn't aware her demise was at such an early age. 🙏 RIP CAROLYN JONES 🙏
Such a beautiful woman. We didn’t get The Addams Family where I grew up. Only got The Munsters which I loved then and now. I saw my first Addams Family in my mid-50s a couple of years ago. It’s pretty funny but I like The Munsters better.
I didn't know the lovely Carolyn was in so many things & such a busy actress. These vids are so informative please keep them coming. All these great classic TV shows and people we all really owe so much! I can't imagine growing up without them. I think we were all very lucky because the current stuff is pretty garbage in comparison.
I've always had a vivid memory of hearing about her passing away. Was coming home from visiting relatives in Indiana when it came over the car radio. No idea why that memory is so strong but it is.
There are many very glamorous photos of her taken throughout her career and she was quite stunning in them! She also played the sidekick "Pat" to Joan Collins' Crystal Allen in the 1956 remake of 1939's "The Women" that was titled "The Opposite Sex!" Despite a star studded cast it's largely forgotten!
Well thanks for more things i never knew about her. I loved Addams family and the Munsters the same. Sad that cancer takes so many great people. Enjoy your channel alot.
I liked the Munsters better, when I was a kid, Gomez and his arm kisses freaked me out, and still do actually but Carolyn was perfect as Morticia. So beautiful!
She was wonderful in 'King Creole'. I was so affected by her death scene where she ran all the length of a pier and then shot,. So moved that I sat through the programme again just to see her.
If my memory hasn't failed me, I believe The Munsters and the Adams Family were both on Friday nights. I loved them both, but when I had to choose between which one I'd watch, it was the Munsters. Herman was too much! Darn, darn darn!!
Your memory is correct sir! I was in Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio recovering from surgery( burst appendix) at age 10. The Sisters had to calm me down, I was laughing so hard. They were worried I was going to bust my stitches! I don't remember which show aired first, but both shows were immediately my and all my buddies favorites! Good times! Thanks for bringing back a (good) old memory! Cheers!
Man I Always Had A Thing For Her! Especially when she was mortica, on the adam's family. I'm 74 so I remember her well! And yes, her life was way too short alright!!
I loved the character Morticia. I see her as the perfect partner. - Supportive of, and involved with her husband, in whatever hare brained or lunatic thing he chooses to do, while retaining her own exotic and slightly aloof style. - What a woman! Carida!!!
Thanks so much for the info. I'm not only a big fans of Carolyn's, having seen much of her work, but also distantly related! Check out her spot-on hilarious performance as a govt. bureaucrat in Kolchak: The Night Stalker's :Demon in Lace."
Just watched her in THE MAN IN THE NET (YT), in which she played an extremely flawed character brilliantly. Although exiting Life`s Stage early, she certainly left her mark.....
I watched them both as a kid but I liked The Addams Family because I thought it was more cerebral than The Munsters who to me anyway seemed more slapstick driven. Also I was a fan of I'm Dickens, He's Fenster so I was already a fan of John Astin. Carolyn Jones was the icing on the cake for me at that young age as I started paying attention to the female sex. I hope that answered your question.
She was good in 'House Of Wax', but excellent in 'The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers'!!! Morticia was more sexier than Yvonne, but 'The Munsters', had a more scarier theme🥺. Which in my opinion, made it, the better show.
She definitely had her own style. In the movie 'Baby Face Nelson' with Mickey Rooney as the title character she played his Moll and she played it good!!! Very sad that she was gone so early!
