How do Millennials and Gen Z's of color see their future?
#basicblackgbh, #millenials #genz, #blackyouthvote,
Millennials are the biggest generation group in the United States, with over 72 million in population surpassing Baby Boomers. Generation Z, or Gen Z are considered the most racially and ethnically diverse of all the groups, with the oldest Gen Z’s born in 1997, and will turn 27 this year. Combined, both generations wield a large and growing voice on issues in society. Both groups are also important voting blocks in the upcoming presidential election. On this week’s episode of Basic Black, Paris Alston, Co-host of GBH’s Morning Edition 89.7 spoke with some young adults to get their thoughts and opinions on a range of issues that impact their lives now and in the future.
Guests:
-Joel Crawford, a sophomore at Harvard University studying Government and Philosophy.
-Adelia Da Silva, the Youth Leadership Committee Co-Chair at BAGLY: The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ+ youth community.
-Eryn Ashlei Bailey, the Affirmative Action Officer of the Boston Ward 10 Democratic Committee. She is also a SPARK Boston council alumnus.
