I think I understand where you’re coming from as I had a similar point of view about the time spent with characters as well. I struggled with losing my favorite members over and over again until I realized that this show is emulating the comic Teen Titans and Young Justice squads; where they represent the growth and change of youth, because characters like Dick or Aqualad don’t have a story related to growth and development anymore, so the focus is shifted to the new players who are going through the themes of the show I.e. self discovery, etc

rq I wanna thank you for actually explaining like why you still like the show, but I do get that. They wanna focus on the new-gen characters they're introducing and thas fair, but you already have a whole generation from s2 that didn't get the development that they need (Cassie, Bart, Blue Beetle and Eduardo) before they moved on to another characters, and even with the Outsiders, they didn't focus on those characters even in more of a mentor role. That's just my main thing, don't waste characters & existing plotlines, even if the themes evolve, make sure to evolve the cast along with those themes.

@@KardiacK I know what you mean, it is sad to seem some characters get so little screen time but I'd argue that they already finished their major arc. Blue Beetle beat the reach and is now a good guy, Bart changed his timeline, and Eduardo did actually move on and became a mentor/counselor at the Meta-Human center thing (I'm pretty sure he had a few episodes with him struggling with helping teens too). But I guess Cass was left in the dust as she never really had any substantial plot other then dating Tim Drake. When you say, "even if the themes evolve, make sure to evolve the cast along with those themes," I agree but instead of having a now adult cast of characters deal with teenage problems (literally any highschool/college drama tv show that lasts too long shows how this looks weird and having a cast commit the same mistakes over and over again shows lack of evolution and growth.) so we just get the main cast for the big mission stuff while the teens handle the growth

@@FredMaverik Lmfao, the show is literally called "Young Justice", not "DC Universe the Animated Series". If I they want to expand on the universe, so be it, but the teenage life, interpersonal relationships, and team aspects are literally a ginormous part of the show. That's like getting pissy about fans who want to watch the Avengers, but the movie/TV show is more about the Avengers team scattered off doing their own thing and being very loosely connected. It loses focus of a very important part of the show. You sound like an idiot.

They main problem was that they added too many characters. Season 1 was amazing because it had a tight groups of heroes with shared time and a great storyline. Season 2 even though I love it you could see that them added even more characters a good amount them get a short end of the stick or get enough development and also there could be a focus on a character a lot then give them less screen time in the next season. For example tim drake's Robin was dope in season 2 but he isn't given alot of development and still doesn't in 3 and same with bumblebee,wonder girl, mal Duncan. Also blue beetle and impluse had a huge role in season 2 and in 3 their roles are reduced. Also a problem with 3 it doesn't feel like there is a straight forward storyline it feels like it jumps around place and with season 4 it looks like it's doing the same thing
@KardiacK

I think Young Justice is trying to copy Justice League/Justice League Unlimited in expanding the world/universe and showing us more characters heroes and villians. However this is at the cost of losing what made Young Justice special in the first place, having the primary focus be on a small of group of teenage heroes trying to navigate through their own personal struggles.
@KardiacK
@KardiacK 2 года назад
I agree & the further difference between JLU & YJ, is that JLU was mostly episodic stories that squished development in for one character or a super small group and just jumped around, YJ is still trying to do longer continuous arcs while jumping, and introducing more characters so it’s not the best…to say the least💀
@9xprincess
@9xprincess 2 года назад
But even then Justice League Unlimited still had main characters, major supporting characters, and minor supporting characters. There was a core cast and plot that guided the story. Major supporting characters had well paced screen time by having their own episodes or parts in episodes. Then other minor supporting characters were intentionally kept to small roles.

I don't know why Greg is so addicted to time skips. It makes no sense. Season 2 had characters die offscreen which included characters we never saw. I originally wanted to see the Red Hood storyline, now I don't want Greg to get anywhere near Jason Todd. The guy can't commit.

The problem with Young Justice now is that they don’t prioritize character development all the care about is ‘what’s the next quirky adventure our heroes with go on.’ What made season 1 great is it focused more on character development a than story to really get us to care for these characters.

I fucking lost it when they decided to give Harper 1/3 of an episode to explore her gender identity, meanwhile superboy is fighting for his life in phantom zone. The fucking irony is that a few episodes later, the writer (and the whole studio with them because nobody noticed this) forgot that her gender pronounce is they/them. Really shows how much they "care" about representation. Every episode is a mess of plotline that aren't relevant to each other. Beastboy PTSD arc seems like a slog because instead of dedicate an entire episode to him, they sliced it up and spread it through multiple episode. Harper plot is out of place and is a poor response to the backlash in season 3. The main antagonist doesn't show up 3/4 into the season. Zatanna/Kaldur arc can be completely cut out and it would improve everything. Nightwing has been relegated to a secondary character in his own arc. His most meaningful contribution is breaking the 4th wall to read the writer script to solve a mystery that the audience already know. What the fuck? Is this really the same people that made season 1&2? How can it be this bad?

S4 I'll say, seems to be ending in a great place with the Nightwing arc, but I still don't think Zatanna, Kaldur, and Rocket all deserved 4+ episode arcs at this point of the story, even if they're all gonna be part of something bigger. They just need to decide on who is going to be the main cast for development, for support, and for background mentorship, because that will solidify expectations

I hate to admit I agree with a lot of this. The show has more characters than it can do justice. How are we supposed to feel anything about characters we haven’t been given time to know. It’s even worse with relationships. They too often brush over major relationship developments, like with Nightwing and Batgirl, Aqualad and Wyynde, Bart and Ed. Rather than let us watch their relationships start and unfold, they just tell us they’re together now and we’re supposed to feel something about that. I understand they don’t stop living their lives during the timeskips, but if all the interesting developments happen during timeskips, why am I watching at all?

In the first seasons of Young Justice the show had one plot, one interconnected cohesive storyline and a big but medium sized cast. But now we have a whole bunch of storylines that don't connect or parral at all. Such as the phantom zone storyline and the Atlantic prophecy storyline. And there are too many characters to focus on like Nightwing, batman, beast boy and the outsiders, superboy and the new recruits.
@chrispy_091

Tl:DR - I still love the series and want to see it to its conclusion, but I do think it kind of sucks now... My complaint about season 4 is that they treated Zatanna, Kaldur, and Rocket as background characters in their own arcs. It's not that I don't care about Atlantis politics or Forager loving Forager or a Blue/Red Lantern or the focus on Vandal Savage's history again.. it's that the focus of each arc was supposed to be on members of the original team, but because the focus wasn't...I don't care. Also, none of these characters experienced significant growth like Megan, Artemis, and their related characters did. My fear is that they are going to do the same thing with Nightwing. Dick Grayson goes back to being an acrobat occasionally because he just can't deal with being a hero, very likely related to the stress of the job or his grief over losing Wally, Jason, and who knows how many other friends. But is the last arc of Season 4 going to focus on that? Oh heck no! We have to tie together story threads from the rest of the season, so Nightwing will likely be treated as a background character again. I doubt we see Jason Todd and that particular carrot will be dangled over our heads for another season. Another complaint is that Beast Boy's entire depression sprint could have been handled in a single episode rather than splitting it up in 1 minute sections across a whole season. The Episode could have had some focus on Beetle, Static, etc. as they worry about their teammate in the middle of dealing with whatever disaster Beast Boy decided to sleep through, and the episode could have culminated in the rather excellent Black Canary counseling session, instead of it just appearing in the middle of the Rocket arc. This way, you aren't interrupting the other story arcs to focus on Beast Boy who has nothing to do with anything at the time. Also, what about Bumblebee and Guardian? Half an episode focused on Bumblebee going inside her kid's blood to spread the metagene. Where are the consequences of that? What are the consequences of Artemis believing that Wally is dead, especially since this season confirmed there was a way to reach him if he were actually dead (the way that all the magic users tried to reach Connor)? Where has the Light been in the year? At this point the show is creating more open plot threads than it closes and it's making me want to see it to the end, but I am growing exhausted watching this show because it just isn't that good anymore. Also, Some of the characters are not particularly well written (A petty Joker not focused on Batman seems like a good idea, but the execution in this universe is terrible), and the animation has dipped in quality compared to season 1 and 2. I could rant for hours because I am a fan of the series, but let's stop now...

My problem with season 4 is that they introduce interesting moral concept like the greater good or good intentions gone wrong. But then crank the evil to 11 like in the final episode of the any arc to absolve the heroes of any mistakes they made.when we first see Zod he is paranoid nationalist vs the team who won’t let him out as they are more afraid of his race an understandable sentiment and his future actions could of being result of being driven cookokoo by the phantom over 1000+ years. By 26 he is just another villain of the week saying I shall conquer the world even if it makes no sense

When the senior super heroes did show up, you'd think it'd be an extra treat to see them be really kick ass. Season 1 and 2 was having sucess cause it was just one Main Cast of team that we followed but everything just got complicated then time skip happened and more and more character just appeared out of nowhere with no plot or story, some people from the Team i don't even Know who they are like Halo or Geo Force and that Girl that has arrow and some other Girl that is hanging out with Batman and Tim, shit wonder Girl doesn't bring anything special to the team.

Halo was by far my least favorite character as I feel like they gave her the spotlight way too much and her “deaths” should’ve had consequences but for some reason didn’t. This one is more personal but The Easter eggs in season 3 and 4 were so forced like the scooby doo ripoffs. In season 2 they used guitar riffs from Batman Beyond which caught me by surprised.

I'm so sick of the fast forward time-line where you lose track of who is who. They grew them up between seasons WAY TOO MUCH! They divided the narratives and arcs, as well as the characters too much. Then they use the same tactics over and over killing favorite characters off which really fng bites! Then they continually and constantly ripoff Game of Thrones storyline arc and do nothing but beat up on the good guys embarrassingly all season just to attempt to turn it around THE LAST EPISODE IN. All they have managed to do is turn the show into a public service announcement to promote current sociopolitical issues with today's society especially in teens. It's gotten too political. BLAH!

The time jumps have always been a problem for me weather just in the show or the 'cancellation/hiatus' Young justice was a great starting show to bring in more people... but if you wanted more content it would show you comics directly MADE for the show, but then it would also show you the 90s team that concided of kon, cassie, bart and tim- who are NOTHING alike between the two mediums Season 4 stars off with m'gann and Connor's wedding- i never really cared... but then I started thinking Connor has basically known m'gann his hole life wile she 60 years Martian-16 years human of age, and then you get to the 'hello Megan' show... did m'gann really love superboy or the idea of what the show? I never forgave m'gann for what she did to conner, he already didn't have much he drew the line at 'mind stuff' because he understood better then anyone how easy it is to manipulate someone- AND SHE WENT TO ERASE THE ARGUMENT, she basically mind-fucks people into getting information... who's to say la'ghann wasn't a victim to this manipulation as well WE JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO SEE THEM PROGRESS/MAKE THESE CHOICES In the comics it was very well explained WHY the Martians were racist, but I never understood WHY it mattered in the show because Martians can manipulate their body they all have mind powers and have a fear against fire- WHY IS RACISM A PROBLEM IN THEIR SOCIETY (don't give me the, belief in different gods- because jesus crist why would the show put that in as the reason, real weak sauce) So basically I already don't like m'gann and conner- so that's not keeping me in the show, my favourite character is tim drake- HE DOESN'T HAVE A VOICE ACTOR TO DEFEND HIMSELF- all we have is cassie saying "he's a bad boyfriend- boys are dumb- all men suck" the majority of the team is girls and 2 VERY uncomfortable guys who have to listen to this!- and the constant flipping of pov's to unrelated characters! Razor was done dirty, new fans to DC don't know who he is (especiallybecause he's NOT IN THE COMICS)- but if there's one thing to know about the lantern rings is that rage and hope DONT GO TOGETHER- not shoto toderoki magic bullshit should be possible! (Go watch green lantern the animated series- seriously good) Then there's the darkside thing... IN THE COMICS our heroes have fought against him well enough, honestly the light is just getting in the way I'm also sick of the fandom hoping wally will come back- WHAT IS HE COMING BACK TO???? Everything he knew has changed everyone is older, and they should have WAY passed moved on because its been 20 years or something, why did it take the characters THIS LONG to address all this shit (artimiss would be 30ish, and wally should be what early 20s... I don't like that age gap) And the show hints to a comic 'heroes in crisis'- its basically a tell don't show with a murder mystery, basically wally kills everyone because he's too fast or something- i don't know i haven't read it, and DEFINITELY haven't heard anything positive about it Basically WHO IS THIS SHOW FOR, its not for those who started the show because now there are too many characters to little screen time for them to shine Its not for comic fans because nothing is familiar And the episodes don't focus on a character long enough before switching to a different unrelated character- AND it essentially doesn't help IF YOU DON'T CARE FOR THAT CHARACTER ... there is a lot wrong with this show, its time to let it go, look into the other shows, pick up some comics- "fuck cannon- and make up your own AU, to cope with the non existent timeline" (Also they killed jason, but if young justice is the first time you heard that name your probably like 'jason who??'- this show is so not made for anyone, no one cared about jasonRobin so no one cares for red hoodJason... tim drake doesn't get the time)

Yeah, I agree about the characters. The show just keeps throwing random bodies on screen. Season 2 was kind of annoying, but enjoyable. It also felt like it had a coherent plot that wasn't all over the place. Even while divided, it was always a team effort in executing plans. I liked it. Season 3? I thought it was a missed opportunity to build upon Tim, Bart, Cassie, and Lagoon boy. The creators were too quick and eager to overshadow them and center focus around the new members. This show is called "Young Justice" but the canon founding members (Tim, Superboy, Bart, and Cassie) sure do get the short end of the stick. Season 4 is doing the same damn thing as 3...

Exactly my point bro, it feels disconnected from what these SAME PEOPLE put in place with Tim, Bart, Blue Beetle, etc. years ago. It's like they just wanna move on without developing, or even just showing us the characters we already know. Also the decision to make Beast Boy essentially the MC from the past 2 seasons is...weird to say the least, even if they've done a solid job, to use him over the other characters is wild.

I am somewhat understanding why people hate season 3 & 4 of Young Justice. I personally saw some of young justice when I was a kid, but never really watched every single episode of the first 2. I fully got into Young Justice because of season 3 & 4. I may have terrible tastes but I actually liked it. Going back and comparing the the first two and the latest 2 give us staunch differences. First thing is the art style change. The art style changed to possibly fit some budgeting and keeping up with current DC. The second important thing was budgeting. I did some digging and found out budget problems affected the last 2 heavily. This is why many things in the show are not on the same quality. The third and most important reason was the audience. It has been years between the seasons of Young Justice and so much had changed. The writers had to adapt with a new world and a new audience while trying to keep their old one. Season 3 kind of felt like a fun experiment. To see what they could do with everything they had. They got the results and then improved on Season 4. If things go well for them they can hopefully write season 5 better than all the previous seasons. What do you think Kardiac K?
@KardiacK
@KardiacK 2 года назад
I agree, the budget they’ve had for these 2 seasons isn’t anywhere close to when they were on TV, & that definitely limits a lot of the things they could do with the story. & I do think that s4 they got a lil more comfortable with dealing with it. Granted I’m a dumbass when it comes to spotting “bad animation” or “lacksidasical animating” so it doesn’t affect my experience with the show at all aside from the literal slideshows in s3, also I do think (I talked abt it more in the stream I did) I think the show doesn’t know it’s audience, and is conflicted on who the show is actually for, but yeah you spittin

After watching the whole of S4, I still think they are doing a good job but I agree so far from how it was in S1 and S2. While I can counter all of your arguments with two words: "Inevitable Expansion", I won't because of two things: 1. I agree with you that they jammed in a lot of stories into one short series with a short runtime, rushed pacing, and somewhat dragged on sideplots and; 2. While watching, I always felt myself gravitating towards the original team more than anyone new who was introduced. If only they separated the show into two versions like they did with JL TAS and go Young Justice and Young Justice Unlimited. Young Justice would focus on the perspectives of the original team while Unlimited will focus on the new members and the different sideplots. But again, budget, runtime, all that shit. Now for an unpopular opinion: What made every season after season 2 be inevitably bad... Was Season 2 itself. Why? Because it was where the "Inevitable Expansion" began. Introducing new characters was a good move but it also forced the writers to lose focus.
@KardiacK
@KardiacK 2 года назад
I feel what you're saying & kinda agree but to an extent...its up to the creators to determine when enough is enough and when the expansion is too much bc yes you do have to split lines, development, and screen time for those new characters, but its still within your own abilities to write it well. There are shows that do a great job of balancing large casts in animation & there's nothing wrong with a character that's rlly only important for a couple episodes or a mini-arc, it happens in anime all the time, The problem is moreso not ending storylines and individual character arcs and leaving them open for more development, it would be one thing if they just had a bunch of characters they never touched on, but they've actively developed some characters at points and set up more storylines for those characters that we haven't gone back to, that's the problem imo. But i do feel what you're saying
@excelraybina6703
@excelraybina6703 2 года назад
@@KardiacK I agree. But then again, it just feels like the direction they are taking is to run it all down and "Fix" bad storylines in the comics, clearly so with how they ended Season 4 and the teases they threw in. That in itself is a problem that clearly turns off fans of the original cast even further. Remember in Season 3 where they did the Nighwing fever scene? It was by far the best scene of the season for me and the most memorable. Season 3 and Season 4 felt like messes and sadly more messy than Justice League Unlimited IMO. It is like the writers are confused with what the identity of the show is and I can speculate why. 1. I don't know if you noticed but it felt like Greg has been pushed (or pressured) to make stories as diverse and inclusive as possible, hence the arcs in S3 and S4 being about gender, race, religion, culture, mental illness, depression, etc. 2. It felt like they are using these seasons to pitch multiple series runs (Or comic runs) revolving around the many characters in Earth 16. Why? Because to be honest, 1 season per year, no matter how good you are at writing, will not be enough to cover the characters that people want to be covered. This was the issue with JLU as well despite having too many seasons. Except, they didn't have to go through the trouble of pushing storylines related to the previous point. 3. Young Justice started off as a serialized story in Season 1 but started to be hybrid serialized-episodic in Season 2. Then in Season 3, they focused more on the episodic side and only threw in bits and pieces that would tie together at the final act of the season to keep it somewhat serialized. In Season 4, to be fair, they did the same but a bit better. While I hope they do better in Season 5, I am just more worried that they won't rather than hopeful. The three points above are just speculative based on my observations. As far as what I believe to be the best direction the show could take from here on out is to let Season 5 focus on the growth of the main characters from Season 1. Below would be the storylines that could do that: 1. Starfire... Nuff said. 2. Wally (Dr Manhattan story arc) 3. Jason Todd and Damian Wayne (Red Hood and Son of Batman story arc) 4. Prelude to New Genesis and Apokalips treaty break-off (First encounters with Black Mary and Super Girl) With the introduction of Starfire, it could tie BB, Cyborg, Raven, and maybe Damian into a new team (Callback to the Teen Titans). Otherwise, Starfire could also begin the Outlaws team with Red Hood, Arsenal and probably others. While Season 6 will then focus on the event that jumpstarted the creation of the Legion of Superheroes in the future. This event has been foreshadowed by Bart Allen since his arrival and the Legion since they showed up. Remember what Saturn Girl said to Superman? I believe all of this will have to do with the New God war with Darkseid, breaking off all treaties. A crisis level event that could be a good ending for the show. I mean, if they do things right enough that they get to that point.

I’ll definitely say, my thoughts on s4 are heavily reliant on the Zatanna arc being so…unnecessary, and breaking the stronger themes and tones from the first 8 episodes, same with the Aquaman arc as well, as the politics of Atlantis for 5 episodes have no effect on us at the point in the story. But even to your point, if that is the case, and s4 is getting back to the story of evolving these sidekicks to mentors…who are they mentoring, because this season if anything Is the season that is mostly a micro focus on individual characters, half of which, are characters that (before this new Nightwing arc) are relatively irrelevant to the events of the past season & arcs

Gonna have to disagree the writing isn’t strong and the inclusion of so many new characters ends up hurting the core characters screen time and ends up working against the show as a whole. The core members don’t even feel like mentors and none of the stories seem to have any relevance to anything that has come before or anything that will come. It all is very disjointed.

@@KardiacK To be honest, there isn't really a difference in the show writing except it was altered to an arc style so it stayed focused on a small group of characters for several episodes (a common complaint for season 2 and 3). Zatanna's arc would have overlapped with Kaldur, Rocket, Beast Boy, and Superboy's arcs. This is along with having to flesh out to Lor-Zod and the Legion's missions. The change to arc structure allowed for these stories to not crossover and have minimal cutaways from the main plot. Of course, you might question why you need Zatanna and Kaldur's arcs but along with Artemis's, they are the arcs that deal directly with the Light. Especially Zatanna and Kaldur's fleshed out Vandal further and the history of Atlantis and magic on Earth. Considering we have an explanation of where metas come from, this was especially welcomed.

I’m the same way in terms of loving YJ since day 1 trust me, but it’s the pacing of these stories & arcs, like the whole Superboy phantom zone stuff in the background lasts for too long (aside from what just happened in the Rocket arc) and with the trapped Kyrptonians, only adds more elements & characters to a story that is already having balancing issues, not to mention the amt of things from s2 & 3 that have yet to be addressed or even shown in s4, and that is just as bad as bad character writing. Having existing plotlines like Zatana & Mgann tricking Artemis, Mgann’s depression after Superboy’s death, following up on the escapees with Eduardo, that should all take precedence over the politics of Atlantis

In my point of view, the show fell off in Season 2 because of 2 reasons. 1. A lot of fan favorite characters like Tim Drake as Robin, Wonder Girl, Arrowette, Spoiler, Orphan, Dolphin and a few other new heroes are nothing more than back ground characters, including Robin, Spoiler and Orphan who are my favorites. 2. The unnecessary Timeskips as they raise more questions than ever like, when did Superboy and Miss Martian break up, when did Robin become Night Wing, when did Wally West and Artemis leave to go to college, why did Night Wing and Zatanna break up, how did Tula die? Well that last question is answered in a terrible tie in game. Season 3 was deemed to be the worst by most fans. I’m one of those few fans who found the main problem of both seasons 3 and 4 is the unnecessary blood and gore as it’s trying way too hard to be adult. Don’t forget the shoehorned sex scenes and a massive downgrade in animation as most of the important scenes are in still frames. At least X-Men 97 did a lot of the darker elements a lot better. Plus the animation and character writing is a lot better.

I understand where you’re coming from but Dick, Artemis, Kaldur, Superboy, Miss Martian, Zatanna and Rocket where the Season 1 originals, that’s why they’re getting focus this season. Every other character is just set dressing to showcase the time being passed in the DC universe. Characters from Season 2 like Cassie, Tim, Jaimie, Bart etc are not the main characters. I don’t understand why you dislike the Arc structure of Season 4 when that’s the best way of showcasing and focusing on a character? Also I think Season 4 has been WAY better than Season 3 so I’m a bit confused there.

Well, granted I recorded this before the Rocket Arc ended, so between the Zatanna, Aquaman, & first half of The rocket arc, those episodes are useless. Rocket & Zatanna, yes are OG’s but even in s1 they were never super important to the story, and nobody cared about them, hence why they receive 0 screen time in favor of other characters for 2 whole seasons, Aquaman (Kaldur) arc was just…irrelevant & didn’t even develop to justify the screen time over the other characters, even if they aren’t “main” characters, because at this point Zatanna & Rocket aren’t MC’s, and they’re only side Characters cuz they were introduced in s1. I dislike it bc it’s disconnected from what the show has done the past szn, and doesn’t follow up on the plotlines that should be naturally led into, instead it ops to return back fully to a cast that partially, has little to nothing to do with the plots before Superboy’s death

Even earlier in the season with the shows take on Vandal savage and his connection to Atlantis and Nabu reminded me why I fell in love with the writing in this show. Great Video! I think another aspects of the show that used to be great but is not anymore is the artstyle and animation quality... The Artstyle didn't need to be changed at all. It was already Awesome in the first 2 seasons and them changing for the 3rd and 4th season was not necessary at all. The new Artstyle made the characters look uglier and I don't wanna see the excuse of "oh they changed it to show the characters aging" Look at the characters from Season 1 and 2, even after the 5 years time jump, the characters (for the most part) look kind of the same as the 1st season difference is they are taller, older, more matured now and the change seemed natural (A Great example would have to be Nightwing). It seemed to me like the Artstyle changed was just an excuse to make the show look like the current DC Animated Universe Movies and TV-Shows which I strongly Dislike because the first 2 season art style made the show look unique and made it seem like it was from the comics, but now it just looks bland, generic, and ugly to look at. The Animation Quality took a big hit as well. The Animation looks alot more stiffer and unnatural compare to Season 1 and 2 and its most likely the budget being lowered (and pandemic made it worse for Season 4 productions) and with studio MIR having to animate all 26 episodes for the 4th season probably made it even worse and time consuming. So I can understand why but the animations quality is still not good... Sorry for this long comment I just wanted to get this off my mind.

Shoutout to Supergirl in the post credits though was literally questioning her lack of presense in this entire series during the show when she's literally one of THE most ICONIC kid heroes. But other than that...I'm good with just knowing Miss Martian and Superboy got married and the rest I can pretty much just headcanon And can we TALK about all those damn COPOUT DEATHS. They did it with Wally...but bro is in the SPEED FORCE lets just be honest as much as the Greg says he hates it, we ALL know Jason is ALIVE and THEN they pull the same BS with Conner like COME ON😭🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Season 4 ONLY got good when they DROPPED all the NOBODIES and picked ONE plotline AT THE VERY END with the Zod Invasion. Everything else was GARBAGE and HOT TRASH cause EVERYON'S DEVELOPMENT is DONE...OFF...SCREEN. Even Beast Boys so called "depression"

After seeing so much of the new episodes the show could have been great. But as time goes on yeah...it's getting worse. My main question why did Connor revert back to his old programing? And don't tell me it's the phantom zone messing with him. He's stronger than that. He remembered the original Kid Flash.

I think it’s supposed to signify him losing his humanity as a result of the hopelessness he feels in the zone, without Megan, & feeling my like in his final moments he resorted to the mindless behavior from his Lex side…but honestly…all that is kinda bullshit bc like you said, at this point in the story his struggles with all that should be past him & it’s more inconsistency than anything

The woke garbage, the messy plots, the obvious budget cuts, the bad writing, bad voice acting and the inclusion of way too many damn characters did it for me

I agree with you with most stuff, I just don’t rlly understand the overwhelming hate of the “woke stuff” I mean considering how Tula died earlier in the story and how heartbreaking that was, it makes sense for him to return home & fall in love with someone who comforted him, and in a show with over 100 named characters, it makes sense for at least a couple to be LGBTQ (which is around 3% of ppl in real life) idk it seems relatively natural for them to be part of the plot with Violet (someone whose character is built on not knowing who they are) & Kaldur

@KardiacK Okay I get how you could think that season 4 was all over the place but if you pay really close attention to the plot it really wasn’t and I’ll break it up into the arcs. Superboy and ms martians arc was the introduction to the season with its main point being superboys “death”. Then we go to Artemis with her main point being.. well her arc didn’t really tie in other than showing us how she is continuing to cope with the death of Wally and now the death of superboy while also giving us amazing character development for Cheshire and setting up Artemis for the night wing which I’ll explain when I get there…huh guess her arc was kinda important in a way 😅. Anywho next is the zatana arc which is important in two big ways if you watched the post credit scene at the end of the season. Zatanas arc set up Mary in how she was, in her mind, wronged by zatana and the others which made her quit Z’s group which sets Mary up for the big reveal of her being by darkseids side on apocalypse with supergirl, in turn setting us up for season 5 without us even realizing til the very very end of phantoms. The other very important part of zatanas arc was Z finding out by repairing klarions damage while he was searching for a familiar that superboy was indeed alive! The whole Child thing was weird and all but outside of that Z’s arc was very important. Then we have aqualads arc which explained the lifespan of savage and the fall of Atlantis to tie in how savage planned to use a mixture of a clone of his grandson and orms mind to try to take over all of Atlantis and sea dwellers and it also showed the characters fighting of a fire pillar that Child used to try to destroy Atlantis. This arc was also not as important as the others but it did show us Aqua lad finally taking a short break for himself which set him up for Nightwings arc as well. Now come, in a way, the most important arcs rocket and nightwing. Rockets arc was very important. It showed how the justice league the green lantern corps and the new gods attempting to make a very powerful alliance to prepare for darkseid if need be which is awesome, but outside of that it advances the story in showing us that superboy is actually in the phantom zone with the house of zod and also shows general zods son and how he is trying to release everyone from the phantom zone which of course is most important cuz the zods are the main key point in this season. Now finally we get to nightwings arc which shows what we have all been waiting for in most of the classic characters from the series trying to figure out how to get to the phantom zone to save superboy which also leads to the giant season finally of the team and the legion of superheroes who were trying to prevent superboys death throughout the entire season fighting against the zods and winning and then the seasons end with the Mary and supergirl thing I mentioned that was built up for s5. This was a lot and I hope it shows that the arc plots indeed were all important to the plot in their own significant ways and shows that the writing for this season was indeed not trash but a well written season that just required patience some brain power to see how this entire season tied together. Young Justice is still my all time favorite series by dc that is still ongoing and it is not trash at all. I here your opinion and I respect your opinion but I disagree with it largely and I hope this break down helped show that the season wasnt trashy written at all it just wasnt as straight forward as season one was 😊

I feel you, & I do especially after the szn is done see how everything led up to a big conclusion, & trust me…I don’t truly believe it’s garbage, but I still do think time could’ve been allotted differently, especially if you’re going to continue with characters & plotlines that are completely disconnected from what happened for a majority of this season. Trust me, I see the relevance, and it’s importance, but to a certain extent, there’s a lot of dropped stories along the way, as well as the storytelling between those separate arcs being disconnected by going from individual group to individual group. Because while watching the szn until Rocket’s arc there’s a lack of cohesion and feel that all these things would matter, the only thing that ties it together is the Zod reunion & motherbox plot, & that’s not detailed until past the halfway point of the szn

@@KardiacK true I will admit they could’ve ordered the episode differently and honestly taken some out and replaced it with more content relevant to the superboy plot but at the same time I think another main focus of this season was to show us where the main characters from s1 are now in their lives

I was a fan of the show from s1 to s2 and wanted the show to come back but I have really not liked the show at all ever since it's come back. S3 was a huge disappointment it was boring, forgettable as hell it was a drag to get through all the episodes. The show has way too many characters but doesn't utilise most of them, they keep focusing on characters I really don't care about. The budget of the show feels less than before the animation looks worse than what it was in S1 and 2, some characters don't have voices I will never forgive them for what they did to Tim Drake one of my favourite characters in DC( he only speaks in one episode and is silent throughout even when other characters are directly speaking to him). A show called young justice doesn't focus on young superheroes like Cassie, blue beatle, impulse etc. The biggest problem I have with the show is that it's just not fun to watch.

3:59 the thing that bothered me the most was that they forgot that Black widow was there then mother/therapist. So I made no sense that beast boy went through his depression art why couldn't they just hide the fact that he was going through depression from Black Canary instead of just taking her out. That was one of the moments that bothered me about season 3 not including season 4. Personally I didn't like the fact that they also put Superboy and his marriage to the forefront of the whole season3.

The biggest mistake that happened in that show is the multiplicity of characters that made the story distracting, not to mention the low quality of episodes in season 4 and also the situation of that Muslim girl I mean really it is not necessary to talk about any divine religion this is a TV show for fun and most importantly Muslims are not homosexuals like this It was so filthy I have the book the most important question is will it get any worse than it is?
@KardiacK

I think the point of her character is that violet isn't who the girl whose body she's in, really is. Like she essentially starts as just a motherbox learning what it is to be human, and she doesn't know who she really is, so despite her appearance or her biological mother, the character isn't actually Muslim.

I got to disagree. Don’t get me wrong season 2 is the best season of YJ while season 3 is the worst. But this new mini arc they are doing in season 4 is amazing to me. Mini arcs allow the writers to explore new genres, demonstrate how lived in the world is, and keep the “young” in young justice while still allowing the characters to age. Zatanna’s arc is the weakest of season 4, but most of that has to do with DC’s magic system issues. I’m hoping that this whole magic arc is an investment in the future for better magic stories that they couldn’t have done otherwise. With how many call backs they included in this season alone, you can’t doubt that if given the opportunity the writers will make good on the other story lines they got started. It’s just not all stories can work for the same main story. They chose the right stories to explore for this season. I especially liked that the light wasn’t the main bad guy this season and just in the background. It’s refreshing to not have the same villains over and over again. Sorry you don’t like the show man. I wish you did.

Y’all gotta understand young justice after season 1 and 2 has changed completely it already has told the arcs of our main team and now Snice it’s not consider a kid show at all they can show the themes they always wanted to show even if people don’t want to explore a lot of these themes and have so many fucking characters it ridiculous but my Favourite character Super Boy got good moments and still got some moments to come some of my favourite being Like in season three the raid on the meta trafficking fight club Where Connor fights Mammoth again without the Shields and really won probably with better training and a blast from the bio ship but still whooped his ass at they probably fought the most in the whole series like they have 5 fights scenes in all of young justice much more than any character Connor friendship with JR continues which was awesome to see again Artemis got good moments too and the season 4 arcs are still interesting and really love Lor zod and his squad and child only new villains we really got that were the main ones at least but yeah I m still happy we got something for one our favourite child hood shows though it matured quite a lot and definitely changed forever

The first and the second season had the same problem about the characters and the disconnection between chapters and plots, but those weren't too bad as the season 3 and four. They believed that, adding limitless characters season after season, the series was going to be better, but it has just shown how they never learn that we liked the series because of the characters and how well they were developed in the first season.

This show went down hill cause they kept introducing new characters and people wanted the original characters back. Also this show did feck all with darkseid. There's only so many times you can have darkseid in the background until it becomes boring. There's also to much buildup to final crisis storyline with a crap payoff. Also s4 becomes incredibly woke.

I mean I feel you I feel you all I haven't finished watching season 4 but holy crap Young Justice when it came back it came back for the worst and I don't know what happened I don't know why but this show isn't the business anymore. I always say it after season 2 that whole time skip thing that they did can only be done once but they keep doing it every season and then they treat us the viewers as if we already knew what happened between the years that been skipped because they literally talk about things as if the audience has already seen it and we haven't seen it. It is a problem because it is a mixed Marsh of characters to be honest a lot of characters haven't really gotten that much attention since season 1 to be honest and then you're bringing them back for season 4 and it's just like season 2 and 3 you should have been developing them instead of bringing in new characters you know I mean what they need to do is they need to look at how Justice League Unlimited where they brought in new characters but what they should be where Young Justice like they did with Justice League first is focus on the team for season 1 let those characters grow and have at least two seasons to themselves then what season 2 should have been should have been season 3 then you could have had what season 3 is could have been season 4 and what season 4 is could have been season 5 without some of the time skip that's the major Crux of it is all over the place and the time skip is so lazy. I understand they want to do some kind of mystery thing or whatever or get us a you know put the clues together on what happened but it gets kind of annoying at this stage of the game
@KardiacK
@KardiacK 2 года назад
Yeah whether it's just the overinflated cast, or the rearrangement of the story arcs, or something...like you said this show has definitely changed the formula from the 1st 2 seasons. I really agree with what you said about the timeskip, looking back, they skip some pretty important info with those, even from s1 to s2.

They are trying to get you to read the comics. I’m personally not confused at all when I watch the show and I love it. It’s the closest thing I’ve ever seen to emulate the depth of the dc universe. The movies haven’t helped sales, in fact with the success of the MCU comic sales dropped even further. As a comic reader they drop hints about what happened during the time skips or offscreen and if you’ve read the comics you know exactly what has happened, and if they’ve decided to change something from the source material they show it to you, like how Barbara became paralyzed. It’s just like the titans comics. A lot of happens to the characters in their own personal comic runs that only get briefly mentioned in the team up books. You want to know what happened, you have to pick up the issues that covered the story. Tim Drake goes ballistic and almost beats a mugger to death in an issue of teen titans, he informs them that his father was murdered recently. To read that story you have to read identity crisis. I’m not judging anyone for not reading the comic books, but that is exactly what the show wants you to do. The DC Universe is probably the most massive fictional universe created. It’s older than marvel and it’s been consistently publishing for 85 years. The crisis events aren’t reboots where you start over from scratch, there are characters that remember what is was like before every crisis, so it’s a continuous fictional history that has been developed from the 1930s to today. It’s getting up close to be a century of lore. As a fan it’s one of my favorite shows because I catch all of the references and I know what’s happening in the background. We will probably have another time jump and Bruce will likely have “died” and Dick will be Batman and Damien will be his Robin. Just like in the comics.

All these past seasons have been the focus of "the light", but that became confined. More developments needed to be made, for example to characters have grown,we have the entire galaxy now to explore, look episode 21,22 of season 4.... Witchboy just got a backstory explained,together with the chaos and lords of order. Vandal savage and his corporation....

Well first, I'll say this video was recorded before both those episodes, and then I'd still say that that's cool, but the antagonists have never really been the main focus of this story and when you have existing plot threads and characters who require further development/screen time (Bart, Black Lightning, Eduardo, etc.)...who cares about what Klarion is doing, I'm gonna be honest
