I imagine it isn’t farfetched to assert that Sasuke would’ve graduated earlier if not for his earlier trauma. There is obviously the out-of-universe requirement for Sasuke and Naruto to be peers. Pressure from warfare is also definitely a significant factor for some of the uber young graduates.

How would Rin be fodder? She performed open eye surgery in the battle field, in the dark, in a cave, in enemy terrority in less than a few minutes. Thats quite the feat as an 12 or 13yr old.

Rin wasn't useless. She was statedd by Obito to have saved his and Kakashi's lives several times prior to the Kannabi bridge incident thank to her mastery of medical jutsu. We saw that when she managed to transfer Obito's eye to Kakashi. A very complex operation done under less than ideal circumstances. Also, about the argument that people were promoted faster during war times, they still had to show they would be assets on the field, it wasn't just handle to them willy-nilly. Obito and Rin both passed the Chunin exam which not everyone, even during those war times, did. As for Obito, he was only a "loser" compare to the other Uchihas (and genius like Kakashi), but he could still use the fireball jutsu for instance.

Shisui was 15 when he died, when Itachi was 12. Itachi refers to him being a Jonin at least 4 years prior, since Itachi wasn’t a Chunin yet during the (filler) Anbu group fight. Which would make Shisui 11 when he became a Jonin, as the youngest Jonin / Chunin ever.

It's funny how Naruto was portrait in the first episode as the guy who failed the graduate exam like 3 times, but he is the same age as Sasuke when he graduated, which was portrait as the genius guy with the perfect grades.

FACT CHECK: Baki reappears in the post war novel “Gaara Hiden”. He is illustrated as someone with really OP wind ninjutsu. In the novel he decapitates several shinobi effortless all at once with his blade of wind jutsu. He is definitely noted and respected as Gaara’ teacher. He calls Gaara lord Kazekage but Gaara insist that he refers to him by his first name and calls him sensei. He is very mysterious and it is implied that he helped lead the village temporarily after the 4th died, before Gaara succeeded so after. So yeah we probably haven’t seen or hear from him because he is like the kekashi of the sand or something like that idk

I think Might Guy and a lot of others on this list graduated so young because they came up in a warring period so their skills, although not fully developed, were needed in battle. Itachi on the other hand was so special there’s no way you could just not promote him since he was stronger than most adults at such a young age.

From what I gathered. It's not even matter of talent but the entire Kakashi generation average kid had an average graduation age of 9-10. Academy period was just 4 years long and the kids entering the academy were 5-6 years old. Kakashi himself entered at 5 and graduated half year later, still at five. Making the record. In any case, after the war the graduation age slowly went up. So we have Iruka generation graduating at 11 years old. And then Naruto generation raising up to 12. In any case depending on which generation we talking about, the talented genius shinobi is the one one who skips academy years and graduates early. Itachi enters academy at 6 and graduates one year later. It's possible that during his generation, the minimum entrance age was raised to 6. As for Minato, he is a different bred of genius. He was an orphan civilian shinobi, so only after entering the academy could he really begin the ninja training. In comparison to that, Kakashi or Itachi were already at the level where the academy couldn't teach them anything the moment they entered it. In order to graduate rapidly, having shinobi family background is a must. Though in general, it seems like skipping through grades in order to immediately become a shinobi isn't very optimal.

Also Kakashi was by all means a genius and absolutely strong. But theres a reason why Kakashi and all the Jonin got to the Genin and Chunin Rank so fast. So yeah like you said at the start, they got promoted underprepared. Obito first failed but got the Rank anyway, cause it was war.

I'm pretty sure Kakashi got nerfed, hard, in cannon. If he kept his learning curve that he had when he was young (gennin by 5, chunin at 6) he would have been stupid powerful. I think the only reason he didn't make jounin before 12 is because of physical limitations (maybe a small headcannon that Minato wanted him to be at least a little older before he could take dangerous solo missions). Even though the sharingan is supposed to be super powerful, I feel like it did more harm than good to Kakashi as it made it nearly impossible for him to fight for long periods of time. Not to mention he was in ANBU for 10 ish years, taking dangerous missions back to back. It feels like he stopped growing somewhere during that timeline... Also, in regards to Rin... I think she was used more as a plot device and less as a character, which is why she seemed like fodder. Nothing was never really about Rin, it was about Obito's crush on her and how much trauma her death could inflict on Kakashi. She never really had a character beyond 'oh she looks nice,' 'healer,' and 'damsel in distress.'

I think that context is key here. For one the war was a very important factor, but even for Itachi we see that he got promoted after being caught using a shadow clone.

i guess Minato could graduate more earlier, he just didn't want to. He's more of a talkative person and missing on your scool years would be not as desirable for him, cause he wouldn't have much friends that way, and there's also his crush in school. He beat bunch of chuunins being only genin, so was just not in hurry to graduate.

Why there is so little Uchiha Kids in Academy even though Uchiha has been big clan and most important we don't see much of all the kid's from the Uchiha as same generation. Shisui Uchiha older gen Than comes Itachi Uchiha And than Sasuke Uchiha. Where is other kids.

Wrong, the youngest to graduate the academy is Akamaru, at age 3. Beyond this, Yahiko began his training with Jiraiya at age 3, and was likely approaching Jonin level when he finished at age 7.

I think we're forgetting a couple things here. One of them being the timeframe of when these characters graduated. Obito was considered bad by the standards of his time in comparison to other ninja that were stupid powerful and the whole Uchica clan. Sasuke was considered a genius when he was the ONLY Uchiha left and everyone else in the academy except for Neji and Shikamaru were basically weak as hell lol. I'm sure if Sasuke was in the academy at the time Obito was he'd be considered average in comparison to the other living Uchiha. Also becoming a Genin is kind of weird in a way. Genin are weak as shit for the most part. All it means is that you have the basics down enough to be sent on low level missions or be used a fodder in a war. So it kind of depends on when a child actually starts learning the basics. Learning them and mastering them at 5 is impressive as hell. But on the flip side if you didn't start learning them until you were 8 and mastered them when you turned 9 that's still impressive. Everything is pretty relative.
