Exciting. 96 years young and I screamed for the first year of my life because I couldn't digest my food. It has been a giant battle ever since. Seeing this tape, my gut tells me Yay--MORE. Thank you, Doctor Gundry. Mary Louise Hamilton, Newberg, OR.

LH: From what you say it could be assumed that the first brain must be functioning well and is in harmony with your second brain in your head. Life is a challenge. Life is a mystery. The first hundred years can be too challenging and a bit difficult. However, with faith and patience, things will improve if you learn how to follow your bliss. Bless you.

Hi Doc, I'm a retired Dutch dentist in good health and, fortunately for decades, also a highly motivated contrarian thinker who likes to think for himself first, rather than swallowing most of Big Pharma's or Big Money's or Big Whatever's statistical or Ivory's Tower's hogwash. Consequently, I have always told my kids to stick to their being stubborn, provided they have good reason for being so. As a result, they should be able to properly defend with words their point of view! And yes, they know that I am proud about that! Sadly enough, amongst my closest contacts, I have some Parkinson disease sufferers. Your crystal clear lecture has provided me with a lot of information, for which I am very, very thankful. You have sent my 2nd brain on a different road, hitherto not very well known, but most probably the road that eventually will lead to better understanding of the root cause of Parkinson's and the like diseases and finally it's eradication.

I see everyone is having a go at this man in a negative way. I developed vitiligo around my mid 30's. I tried everything over a 5 year period. I had some success but nothing that brought my confidence back. I bought his 2 books and followed the plan. My pigmentation is returning, I'm no longer tired all the time and so far my weight loss is 43lbs. I eat between 10am and 6pm. I don't fully understand what is working but I'll keep going with the gentle exercise, mindfulness and Dr Gundry plan.

Not only are there more bacteral cells in your body than your own cells, but that number of bacterial cells in your weighs in at around 4 pounds. If they are doing well on what you feed them, they will be making a whole suite of chemicals that are useful to the body including vitamins we can't make ourselves but need, like K. The hormones or neurotransmitters and such are just another interesting aspect of our evolutionaary relationships to other organisms.

For me Dr. Gundry's research and presentations are invaluable. Since January 2018 I've been eating lectin free according to the suggestions in his book "The Plant Paradox" and no longer suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Leaky Gut. Additionally I make sure that my food and nutritional intake is high in antioxidants and plant phenols. I consider myself to be the living proof that Dr. Gundry's findings work and therefore I'm immensely grateful for his life changing advice.

I took two salads to work for twenty years everyday and did not lose any weight at the near 300 pound level. I am doing Keto, Dr. Berg style, I point that out because the term "Keto" means different things to different people. It has been the only thing that has worked for me. I am down about 60 pound since late January of 2018. Last week I saw a video from Dr. Berg going for his CAC report. He had great news, his score was zero.

Salads alone will not knock weight off of you. It depends on what's in the salads, what kind of junk you eat, the processed foods you eat, the meat, the exercise you do. So many things---Don't blame the salads---- Congrats on losing the weight you have---- The Keto diet is very dangerous, and that will show up later--- :(

Dr Gundry is one of those Doctors I would trust with my life.He is far above any Dr or person,in his knowledge of the body. This is not the first time I have heard of your gut being the second brain...It all makes sense and we can look around us and see that so many people are sick...when the gut is affected..because of the way we eat..our whole body suffers,,not just physically but mentally.

Because your "gut" digests the bad stuff you eat, which is then filtered into your blood stream, which then affects hormones that affect mood and cognitive ability which is processed in your brain.

Correction - gut is the first brain, not second. It does all the dirty thinking and then sends the results to this gray mass above which we, for some reason, called a brain. It has nine cables to do it, just in case...

---- Heartburn drug warning: New study links to Alzheimer's disease--- PPI use causes low stomach acid which is probably the culprit for Alzheimer's. Unsaid, was the fact that many people over 50, who have never taken a PPI, have low stomach acid. The "Neurologist" Dr. David Perlmutter believes Alzheimer's is related to a dysfunction in the gut biome (stomach)and can be treated with probiotics. Interestingly, having low stomach acid, whether normally from aging or from PPI use, allows "bacterial overgrowth" from both failure of stomach acid to kill bad bacteria entering the stomach as well as bacterial overgrowth resulting from lack of acid and pepsin to properly digest the food we eat. Reflux is due to poor eating habits. Actually, reflux is more closely related to ""low stomach acid" and "bacterial overgrowth" due to low acid in the stomach or a mechanical problem with the Lower Esophageal . The Medical Medium Anthony William says to drink organic celery juice on an empty stomach. It contains a unique blend of seven different acids the body needs to produce hydrochloric acid to properly digest protein and protect the gut from pathogens. Acid reflux is actually caused by bad acids produced by pathogenic organisms traveling up the esophagus not by too much stomach acid or stomach acid traveling up the esophagus. ---- One reason people are more prone to Alzheimer's disease by taking antacids is they aren't getting their B vitamins. This is especially true of B1, B2, B4, folic acid, and B12. In nursing homes people's dementia improves with B vitamins. Yet, older American's are put on antacid drugs, while at the same time they ""produce less stomach acid"" . People who rely on antacids usually will wind up with too little stomach acid. Close to 80%of people who complain of heartburn really have too little hydrochloric acid and enzymes in the stomach. The people who have too little stomach acid can't digest food properly. Antacids make a bad condition worst. Antacids cause decreased excretion of acids and increased bicarbonates, this makes urine more alkaline. An alkaline urine is a breeding ground for bacteria. This is why cranberry juice is used for a bladder infections it makes urine more acid. the low acid in the stomach creates many health issues. No surprise all medications even over the counter ones have side effects. Again, they do not solve the problem. A poor diet can come back one day to bite you. Our digestion system is not meant for all the garbage we put there. I am sure many people would improve with a diet human's were meant to eat. www.naturalhealth365.com/heartburn-gerd-2041.html

The report, published in The Lancet medical journal, claims to be the most comprehensive of its kind and goes against previous studies which have suggested a glass of red wine is equal to going to the gym, or that drinking alcohol makes you live longer. Read more © Stefano RellandiniTeetotalers at as much risk of dementia as excessive drinkers - study While the researchers acknowledged that moderate alcohol use can help protect against heart disease and diabetes, they said the risks associated with drinking alcohol - such as cancer and other illnesses - far outweigh any benefits. "The widely held view of the health benefits of alcohol needs revising," said the report, which called for national medical guidelines - that suggest drinking one or two glasses of wine or beer per day are safe - should be amended. "Our results show that the safest level of drinking is none," say the study’s researchers at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation in Seattle. For the study, the team looked at alcohol use and its health effects in those aged between 15 and 95 across 195 countries between 1990 and 2016. Results showed that alcohol led to 2.8 million deaths in 2016 alone and was the leading cause for premature mortality and disability among those aged between 15 and 49, accounting for 10 percent of all deaths. I knew a Ukrainian older gent & he drank 3/4 of a bottle of good vodka & then walked home. He pulled up at an intersection where cars could turn if it was safe to do so & was well lit , just as the old guy stepped off the curb this car came roaring around the corner & side swiped him, hitting him back on to the pavement. The next morning i was at his place to make sure he got home ok because it was a bad area, so i put the kettle on to make coffee. Then i heard him calling me from his room & when i went in there he didnt look well & he said, look look what happened to me & he pulled up his PJ shirt & the colors in his skin were deep red & purple blue & yellow etc & that bruise went halfway down his leg. It was the biggest nastiest bruise i'd ever seen, but there he was Alive. He should have been dead. So sometimes, just sometimes the health benifits of alcohol can be extreemly benificial , i mean he could have died if there wasnt a crazy amount of VODKA in his system , but you never hear Dr.s talking about it. I'm a vodka drinker now because one day, it just might save my life....hic* :)

My gastro doctor thought I had a pancreas that wasn't working. He did another colonoscopy in 6 years to see. Nothing was wrong. He gave me a med that would tell the pancreas to work. It did its job but way too expensive! I learned a better supplement from a nutrition store that does all the same but only costs me $42 for a month. The other was thousands! As long as I take 1 or 2 of the supplement, depending on meal size, I do not have diarrhea. It was one year of not being able to leave my home before I started to learn what to do or not to do. Wonder if you have had this issue as well.

Very interesting. I have also heard that the only reason for having a brain is movement. If we didn't need to move we would not need a brain. And since we need internal organ movement it makes sense that the computer to carry that out the gut would be located in the gut. I'm following the PP diet and feel a lot better so it seems the lectin theory is correct. I have mentioned it to others and they deny it. Keep up the good work.

Interestingly enough, in Classical times they believed human awareness resided in the breast not the head (I remember a specific reference in the De Rerum Natura of Lucretius), so there's obviously some cultural conditioning going on here, with our modern perception of the brain's function making us place awareness in the head.

I enjoyed the video and subscribed for more info, you set off my Truth detector. I think that every part of the body and all it's guests down to the subatomic level are each individual "brains" that group together to form larger brains and all of their thoughts converge at the heart and diverge from the heart. It seems to me that information is attached to the Sonic wave generated by closing of the heart valve causing a cavitation of the bodily fluids which are quite similar to the make up of sea water. Crystals have been said to give off electrical energy when under pressure. It seems to me that the heart is the nucleus of the mind of the body and is many times more powerful than any of the other nuclei in the body both electricly and electromagnetically. The Heart is the most powerful brain in the body as it is informed by all others as a universal receiver for all that is contained within it's field but for most of us it is the least used because it can only be accessed consciously and we spend most of our time in reactionary states, paradigms where reactions are predetermined like a computer program until our situation no longer fits that program and a new paradigm is chosen. Like when we drive to a social gathering, we are in a trance like state for the drive and acting with little thought about our driving, in automatic. When we arrive we often choose a different paradigm of automatic thought that seems to fit the situation. Try holding your breath and ask where is the need for air first felt. The queen ant and the heart are fed first for the same reason. Many see ourselves as more advanced than the ants in all ways but the ants always know what to do because they always follow the queen.

wire down vs wire up. Hmm I've always assumed wires where two directional. Does anybody know more on that subject? Does a wire in the neverous system have one direction?

I disagree in the beginning that only women have that 'gut' feeling. As a man I have that exact same feeling, it's not just exclusive to women.

What if we consider the heart is the first brain instead of the gut and the brain is the second ,,,

Hmmm, very interesting, I was looking at it 3 times. We have 2 brains and the big one is in the stomach and it is infected with bad bugs because of what we eat. And also here nothing good said about Roundup.

Wondered. Are all living creatures (animals and plants) just like avatars created by bacteria?
