Facts... I'm not a millionaire, but my dollars moved quite a bit since a 20yr old. And nearly all of my youth circle is gone or looks at me like I'm the checkbook for everyone. This speech is so on point.

I spent a large majority of my life trying to please everyone and wanted everyone to like me. It was very draining and frustrating and stressful. It took me the last 5yrs to realize these very words you are speaking. Even though my parents and grandparents told me everyone won’t like me growing up, I had to learn the hard hurtful painful way. I’m still growing but now I am ok being ME! I love me and i wasn’t meant to be like anyone else. I only have to please God and myself.

Brother Ricky,I just had a conversation with my wife about how jealousy sometimes is within your own family. I'm currently dealing with that type of situation now, so much that it had me questioning if I was a bad person which I am not. My conclusion is that some people would rather see you down in order for them to feel like their doing better than you, I broke away from a feeling of depression once I realized that.

I needed to hear this message cause I noticed how my own family started treated me strange after I got my doctoral degree... the first doctor in the family. I thought I would be treated better but they changed then I realized that not everyone is gonna be happy 4 u it's a sad reality that I had to learn the hard way... but I am fine with it now cause it just decreased my circle which has given me a world of PEACE!

As a psychologist, the ball players I have worked with have struggled the most recognizing who is truly their friend and who just wants to be around them because they have money and pay for everything. I have to tell them, it is okay to limit people's access to them and to set boundaries with what they pay for. Protect your peace!!

I work hard for what I have and it seems as though people are envious and it’s not a good feeling. This is genuine. I grew up in a city that was ranked the poorest in America in 2011. Once I started gettin money from WORKIN MY ASS OFF. I got out. Bought me a big house surrounded by mountains and farms in one of the best school districts. Found out quick who was sincerely happy for me, and who was envious. In short, my circle indeed got smaller. Now it's me, the wife and kids, and very few friends against the world.

Hallelujah! Yes, Sir. Your speaking my language. I was raised in Alabama with my grandparents and they sent me off right. I have experienced so much of what your saying and it hurt me. But God kept me close to Him and made me remember the southern values and home training and the Word of the Lord. I’m so thankful to have a foundation in Christ that guided me back to safety and virtue. I worked in the hot fields in Alabama for my grandparents and hated it, but it made me not run from hard work and taught me resilience. People are empty when it comes to kindness, respect and love. So I can relate to most of what you are talking about. Especially the being raised by grandparents. My grandmother helped raise me and to this day I’m always being complimented on my manners.

Love you Rickey. I live in Ohio but spent summers in Alabama around my grandmother. I also went to my maternal grandmother's house everyday during the school year. I always go out of the way to help people who don't really appreciate it. My father is from Towncreek Alabama. He is in heaven now. He used to tell me to stop trying to save the world.
