Tesla suggests doing it every 2 years, but we think it is best to do it every year to keep the air circulating in the car as clean as possible 🦠
This is to prevent breathing in dust, pollen and other particles from outside pollution as much as possible.

Not recommended, as it can get wet in a carwash and heavy rain. Once wet, smelly mold will grow and go into the cabin.

Voids ac Warranty, restricted airflow to my system to the point it stop cooling the car. Gets wet and moldy and causes system to smell as well. When you take it to tesla they will say you used a 3rd party filter and void your warranty.

This is an aftermarket part. I have one but it heavily restricts the airflow.

Iam not sure if we can stop an appocolyse with this filter, what we can do is Filter Pollar and Filter smelly air.

That’s a bit pointless because water will be hitting that filter, allowing bacteria to grow.

It's the worse place to put an air intake. This is for the model Y I believe, and the AC stinks because water gets in there so easily. No other car has the intake so close and directly under the windshield like that. My AC stnks like vinegar after a couple of months of replacing the in-cabin double AC filter. It does not remedy the problem.

Hi Bri, apologies for our late reply! The air filter does fit all Model 3s. The air vent cover are a little different, but we do have the vent cover for 2022 in our store. 😁👍

I would not do this. Water gets under the hood of a Tesla very easily compared to other cars.

I open my 2022 M3 and don’t see an air filter at all. I believe that is just for air flow.

There indeed isn't an air filter there by default, but the holes in the air vent cover are quite big and easily let dust, sand, etc through. The filter will stop all that. 😁👍
