This traffic officer training film shows both the right way - and the wrong way - to manage a busy intersection. Downtown locations include 9th and Hill Street. Busy street scenes with buses, streetcars and pedestrians just after WWII
This is more than cool! I would watch this over and over and over....... I literally walk those streets everyday as I work downtown in that area! Love seeing "everyday" people doing "everyday" things!
If you don't think our once great nation has declined, just take a look at 1948 downtown LA. Look at the way the day-to-day citizens were dressed. The men in suits and hat, and the ladies in nice looking dresses. And oh yeah, gimme that 1948 cop anytime over today's lot. A great time in American history that preceded the late 60's decline leading right up to current times. From this great short film on 1948 America, the decline in morals and character is significant and disturbing to students of history. The Roman Empire of old, the last 100-years of it's existence, show a similar decline in morals, in character, and a complete rebuttal of the principals that made them the greatest ever at that time. We, as a nation are on the very same path as Rome! Moral decadence with the people of Rome, including the same , with corruption as icing on the cake, with the government was the path from greatness taken. Look at this nation today and weep for our children's future.
The ones aged 25 or so might still be around. Minimum age to be a cop has usually been 21 not always but often. Some years ago I remember an article about the oldest former cop aged 107 or so. He became a cop in the late 30s.
Honestly there was not much difference between Tommy and the 2nd by the book cop. There was even a pedestrian that almost got hit by a car with the 2nd cop Looks like cars were more important than pedestrians.
The narration says it's Ninth and Hill, but the views of the Orpheum Theater and the Eastern Columbia tell that those shots are actually at Ninth and Broadway.
MUST SEE!!!!! World's BEST Traffic Director having fun (practicing) directing traffic and dancing to Cap D Coming by (Uncle Luke). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dEnTEvVsNJE.html
What an era when women were still objects. Even this film shows how sexual harassment was very common. An officer chasing tail on the clock. What golden years.
