Without their creators RU-vid is fine. Another generation of creators starts everyday. This is just a dope video. 28 mil subs and 5 mil on a video. Dying channel.
I think RU-vid should give you the chance to edit out what they don’t like on the video. I’ve received info and time stamps on why some of my own videos have been age restricted which was stuff like my thumbnail or excessive cursing. But they kept them age restricted and didn’t give me a chance to clip it out or change thumbnail. When you get flagged for copyright music you get a chance to edit it out or mute it.
Yep And Orion as well They have their RU-vid account still even though they're a REAL threat to the community because of the four false allegations to the one person WITHOUT even using the platform
at some point, its gonna become the feeling of “why even take the risk” because of how youtube cant communicate properly with the people that make it it what it is
This video echoes my own experiences the past 3-4 months. Lots of videos getting limited or age restricted completely. It's made me far more cautious about which games I can cover safely on the platform and the kind of content I can produce. It's demotivating that's for sure. Hopefully we can get some better transparency from RU-vid and perhaps they can take a second look at how they handle content - especially fictional stuff like videogames. Cheers for speaking up on this Seán.
Holy shit! The Bendy Theorist himself!? I know you cover other games, but man I love your content! Also, any updates on Bendy and the Dark Revival's release date?
Don't ever let the bad comments get you down ever, remember happiness is eternal, people are only mean because they either don't like other people or they're just mean and they want to bring people down, keep doing the great work your doing bro thank you.
As a small creator that got my entire channel demonetized and see other people that make similar content to me still posting freely and monetizing… this message is so important for upcoming creators RU-vid’s system is so unfair it needs to be talked about more
It's actually a bit weirder. Here is what happens at RU-vid and why they won't tell you anything: - Each Creator is actually assigned a hidden "grade" which specifies how safe for ads they are. - There is a global algo list of words that trigger immediate flags. Certain words and slang used will have higher chances of triggering the flag. I've tested this extensively as I just do tech content, but I was intrigued by it when I had a video get flagged as my content is about as safe as you can get. So why doesn't RU-vid tell everyone this? - The words that trigger the immediate flag could come off as discrimination of many minority groups and is how the entire algo is built to protect the younger audience. - If everyone knew their "grade" then it could be argued in court that RU-vid willfully sensors content and can control the content on their platform. This has massive legal ramifications that could hold Alphabet "Google" liable for the content hosted here. This is why we are left in the dark and why they can't tell us much.
I hope that this comment gets pinned or somehow boosted! This is complete and utter BS that it’s ran that way. Completely unfair. Thank you for this knowledge! 🫶🏼
I mean, I understand how important the the big content providers are, but come-on RU-vid!! You are going to lose viewers, like me, if you keep up this “favouritism”!
Just realized that ever since this video I haven’t been recommended your stuff. No wonder I haven’t seen your videos in my feed, I think this just confirms it. Shape up RU-vid.
The fact that Cory had to avoid saying self harm and suicide because he was scared the video would get taken down while Jack says it so nonchalantly cause he doesn’t have to worry about it. I’m not saying anything negative on either of them, it’s just funny where you see the blatant differences in how they approach their videos and how they’ve learned to be because of RU-vid’s treatment of them.
Plus, like Charlie said, Cory is as user friendly as it gets. He doesnt say any curse words, he censors himself, so logically his videos would do better with ad revenue and more viewers. Yet himself and his videos are suffering more than bigger youtubers that consistantly curse.
I honestly think this is a combination of there being too much stuff to manually check all the time in general, leading to mediocre auto-management with very non-transparent systems that nobody understands (including YT themselves seemingly lmao). Then in the case of Cory specifically, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a group of people going out of their way to flag his content and mass report his vids because A) They just don't like him personally (which is ridiculous because he's a good dude). B) They are racist (even more ridiculous in this day and age, but sadly still common). Or C) A combination of those things. Whether or not it's just random users going after him or there really are some people within the company itself targeting him (doubtful since so many other creators including non-POC creators having stuff de-monitized/striked for seemingly no reason), this is a bad look for the platform and company as a whole and this whole situation only serves to ruin YT and content creation for the creators, viewers, advertisers, and ultimately YT themselves.
I'm genuinely wondering RU-vid will actually change something now that people with larger platforms are talking about it. I'm so glad you're using your voice to raise awareness to this problem, I hope other people follow suit to yours as well.
When it's easier and more convenient to try to stay out of situations like these so you don't get involved and potentially risking putting yourself in the ''bad books'' of RU-vid by speaking up, thank you Sean for speaking up on this especially for Cory and lots of other smaller youtubers. Knowing that RU-vid has the power and many creators especially smaller ones and those whom depend on youtube for a living, they feel at the mercy of youtube and of course would avoid risking their channel and livelihood by speaking up against this. I do agree that our creativity feels suppressed with having to tiptoe around everything and get so anxious if there will be any issues with the video. It feels exhausting and demotivating to even upload when everything feels so punishing. Thank you Sean for being an advocate for all creators ❤
Favoritism is really prominent on this platform. I’ve had multiple creators have their videos re-monetized after using the RU-vid editor the remove “guideline breaking” parts of the video. But when I did it, RU-vid support told me i wasn’t allowed to do that and fully demonetized my videos.
Isn't that the point of the RU-vid Studio/ Editor? To make it easy to cut out things that A. You, the creator isn't happy with or B. RU-vid isn't happy with. It was definetely one of those nitpicky admins that are full of themselves and think they're the messiah. Just like Discord and Reddit.
I've had a problem like yours when I tried to upload a stupid brexit meme I made with the gumball challenge meme and my video got flagged instantly even though I saw bigger channels uploading it with no problems. I did try to appeal saying that other channels had uploaded without any issues but youtube did the obvious thing and rejected it.
favoritism is massive. just look at QuantumTV situation. unhinged bl^ck dude and does all sorta sh^tty h0m0ph0bic stuff, cyberb^llying, illega^l copyright strike and what not and he is roaming free while tge Actman gets fked over trying to bring his deed under light.
5:26 I dont know if these words come from your heart but you earned a sub and a fan regardless. A man of honesty is a rare sight in these day even just verbally. looking forward to your other content.
The fact that they removed the age restriction once they were shown Mark's video just shows that it was never about the video's content in the first place. I love Cory too, he deserves better.
"To keep children safe..." Children have youtube for kids. Case closed shut. The overdone censorship of regular youtube content is absolutely ridiculous.
I agree, parents need to watch out for their own kids, they made a special platform for children. It's like in school when one person acts up we all get punished
Exactly! Blurring out words like death and die. I understand giving the context but it’s a natural part of life. The censorship is a complete joke and was fine the way it was
@@MelloriNoMori "it takes a village!" Is a popular saying when it comes to raising kids and it's like ok but you still have your own responsibilities as a parent lmao
Know what's really for the kids? Let's keep pushing shorts promoting men putting down woman for the sake of their own fragile egos. Yeah we can't have this black guy being a positive influence on others or anything. Giving "alpha male" Mysogynists the attention is really what's important
I really appreciate you and other RU-vidrs speaking out about this. I'm trying to start making content, but I feel like with everything going on, having to adjust your contents thumbnails and videos to the algorithm or watching other people's accounts suffer for no reason just doesn't make the experience enjoyable anymore. This is an issue RU-vid needs to look into because otherwise so many account (no matter how big or small) are going to suffer, regardless on what they create and how careful they are. Thank you again for speaking out, hopefully something will be done soon!
My theory is that you got age restricted later because you get more views, youtube pushes more ads in that short time in the millions, which is quick cash gained there, but Evelyn's channel is smaller, so lesser userbase, so less money made, so hit faster.
The thing that got me about Mark's "try not to laugh" strike... they struck the wrong video. They didn't check which video had the "offensive" clip; they removed the video mentioned by both RU-vidrs, when it was the next video in the series that had the clip in it. It was a total knee-jerk reaction to the complaint raised; they didn't even check if it was the right video that they were taking down.
LMFAO!!!! Respect the creators? My sweet summer child. You must be new to the world. Hopefully your learning of how the world works will be as painless as it can get. I wish you all the luck!
@@RetroGamingSweden I was also once in the edgy phase. My nerves tingle with cringe everytime I look back. You’ll get out of it soon one day, my sweet summer child. Good luck.
On the topic of appeals, reviews, and website reps: Tiktok has the same verification/review process problem, if not worse. They purposefully leave their terms of service very vague so they can decide who gets taken down and who doesn't. I know it's a different platform from RU-vid, but it plays into the issue of manual vs automated reviews and other algorithm based flagging and appeals. As an artist who can spend weeks on a very short video, it's so heartbreaking when something just gets smacked down without a second thought. A lot of us have also been through the process of appeals and being ignored by the system. Love that you're speaking out on this.
"To keep kids safe" RU-vid KIDS aside, since when are corporations and creators responsible for parenting? If your kid watches something it shouldn't for their age, its the responsibility of the parents. Any parent that disagrees with this is straight up a danger to their own kids. You don't go to a knife-manufacturer complaining that their stuff isn't safe for kids, do you?
Not to mention, that it was completely useless anyway. They had to stop collecting kids data? Then why do I get ads for kids toys sometimes? They still have a market idea trying to get to kids. Theyre just pretending that they care
even then, sometimes a good quality knife company (or toy company) may come out with kid-safe knives (usually acrylic) that don't cut and use pure chopping power instead. it's the company's job to make sure the material won't poison my daughter, and it's MY job to make sure she doesn't push it down on her fingers. it should be an effortless team effort that results in the least amount of injuries as possible, yk?
@@haldouglas4773 Yes. When it is advertised to be child safe, it is supposed to be just that. Thats on the company and the respective creators. But to push that agenda on every other product aswell? Straight up nonsensical.
It's their way too control and manipulate creators, when content creators don't know the rules clearly, everyone is afraid and YT just do what they want.
although I agree with many points raised in corys video i think we need to keep things in some perspective. for this im going to borrow what Andrei Terbea said about the youtube algorithm when talking about leafy: "youtube's decision making is highly dependent on two external factors with one hand they're trying to keep advertisers happy without which the platform could not possibly sustain itself and with the other youtube tries to avoid regulation from lawmakers who will not rest until they put constraints on these huge social platforms they don't even fully understand. away from all the big people in suits trying to co-exist in some fragile harmony there's us the creators (that being you and me) between 30 to 50 million people who are uploading content totheir channels but as we've seen multiple times it's enough for just one creator (whether that might be pewdiepie or jake/logan Paul) to cross a line for this harmony to completely crumble whether that means advertisers getting upset and everybody's income getting cut in half or regulators seizing their chance to put youtube in a corner with stuff like article 13 or coppa and again all of us have to suffer as a result"
I have this problem a lot too, gets annoying real fast because I just came back from a huge break, and now my new content is fine for a while, then gets flagged (WITHOUT A NOTIFICATION, so I literally have to check every single day) and the views just drop, which is really dangerous as I haven't been making content for months RU-vid needs to fix this, like actually :/
yeah, i feel like they should at least give you a reason as to why they do the things they do but i think we all know why now.. ps, love your vids weegee
@@bonezxz the first issue is definitely the fact they say it's "manually reviewed" Im ready to bet my LIMBS it is NOT, and that it's automated in some sort and that might be why they don't say anything, they just won't bother :/
it sucks because then we have to complain, like we hate the platform, no, I absolutely love this platform, so please don't give me a reason to complain :(
"I don't want special treatment just because I'm a big RU-vidr" Stuff like that is what makes us follow creators like you. You get big but at no point do you let it get to your head. If anything, you guys struggle more and more about how to adequitely react with every new milestone you guys hit. You keep your humanity, and I love you for that.
There's one thing I don't know if I missed or if it's just being overlooked. It's nice to say you don't want special treatment. The thing is if they treated everyone equal on upload it would take even longer for the review process. If they checked and reviewed everything the same then they would take more time to get to a lot of the smaller RU-vidrs, if nothing else than from the larger amount of videos that would need review. Not to mention it would lose more money for everyone uploading videos, big and small. Even if they treated everything equal on upload I'm pretty darn sure the review process would still skew to bigger RU-vidrs favor because they would be losing more revenue, both the individual and the company. It instinctually might not seem fair but there are explanations that aren't as...disheartening as the face of the situation presents.
The favt that all the big content creators Don't even fight or get jealous of their views, and popularity, and they just come out and stay together, and support each other like co-workers or something. I love you guys
"To keep children safe" has itself proven to be an excuse a lot of the time to justify censorship. It's what a corporation says when they don't want to spend money figuring out a way to make something work *properly*. "Oh, we can't have this. Think of the children," said the man whose previous idea was to have you select your age before certain games can be played. Not for the safety of the children in that case though, just to cover their own butts in court.
You are absolutely correct that RU-vid punishes you for taking time off, Jack. This is a consistent and disturbing pattern with content creators on this platform, where their numbers take a noticeable hit after a break.
Yeah, had this too when I took a break during the holidays. Would be great if there was a vacation mode, where you can temporarily disable your account for the algorithm (ideally people could still watch your videos) and setup a custom message for your audience.
@@RobinB360 I’m no RU-vidr, but I don’t think it’s fair that any content creator should have to do what you’re suggesting. Not that it’s a bad idea. I just feel bad for creators in general; that it’s gotten to the point where you feel as though you _have_ to suggest a Vacation Mode. The first time Seán took an extended break in 2017- which wasn’t really a break, since he was testing his HDWGH Tour as well as doing Ready Player 3 with Arin and Danny- there were a few people whining about it. But I remember the majority of comments on that particular Vlog being loving and supportive. You’d think RU-vid’s Algorithm would be able to detect all the positive messages and actually see that viewers not only support breaks… _We ENCOURAGE them!!_
a year later, still a problem. i think youtubes algorithm has shifted to only shit all over smaller creators and people of minorities even more. atp this feels intentional, and it sucks
Thank you Sean for speaking out on this, it makes me sad that RU-vid is doing this. RU-vid needs to get their crap together and fix their issues with this.
Cory having so many people rallying behind him (when it pertains to such a serious issue as racism or favoritism within this website) is really, really good to see.
Of course, he makes great content! I’ve been subbed for years now I think, I don’t watch him often but every time I wander into his channel again, it’s always a wealth of laughs and good times.
I wonder, is it RU-vid being racist or picking people to raise up and protect or is it the AI algorithm in charge of it? Because if it’s the AI that’s a deeper issue that needs to be seriously addressed.
So far, all the mortuary assistant footage I did has NOT been age restricted or anything. But in the past week, I've been noticing uncharacteristically higher numbers of lost subscribers. Posted about it on twitter and huge numbers of people have been messaging me saying they were unsubbed my not only mine, but similar content creators they watch regularly. Thank you for using your voice to speak out for all of us.
I literally watched all mark's mortuary assistant videos and now it's age restricted?? Even tho i already watched it and am a minor?? I was literally more disturbed by the first part which isn't age restricted, than the 3rd/4th part which are. I literally can't remember what they could've been restricted for, it was that impactfull and horrible😍
I remember when RU-vid would unsub people, based on how often they visited your channel, years ago... I think that was around the time the algorithm stuff started.
This ... this is weird.... I am not a creator, but I am noticing that videos I have watched and have liked are showing up again on my feed without the like.
I will oftentimes like videos and sub to content creators as a means of support --- basically saying "I like what you do, keep up the great work". It's completely uncool (unacceptable, even) for RU-vid to control my account and unlike/unsub without my knowledge. That should not be allowed to happen.
This is why I love Jack , he's such an amazing person and wants to use his platform to bring attention to things that maybe wouldn't be as recognized otherwise . And he does and says everything so respectfully . I love that he's willing to stand up for the "smaller creators" regardless of the backlash he could get from youtube for it . He's just honestly a good person at heart . And if youtube takes him away from us and more importantly takes away how he and so many others make their living and also the thing that really brings them joy and helps them connect to so many people around the world .
@@blackwolf3361 it doesn't matter how many people speak up RU-vid will still continue with there scummy behaviour I mean look what happened with the dislikes maybe if this was 2009 RU-vid would listen but there to big to give a crap oh I'm sorry poop.
Yes, they SHOULD be able to know what they're being flagged for. But I don't think a company this big is ever going to be transparent in what they do unfortunately. It sounds like they have the bare minimum of rep interfacing with the creators, as if the reps have very little allowance in what they can say. It must be really frustrating to be in that position, and I can imagine a LOT of reps constantly voicing in meetings that they need to communicate more with creators, but to those higher up making the decisions on what is allowed, I doubt they're listening to the reps at all.
@@---jt5wg I find it incredibly short sighted as profitable as RU-vid it as the company grows they should know to hired more employees. I agree with your points completely, but I hope that good change can come from this
Iam so glad you are using your platform to speak on these issues. I’ve seen August the Duck point out kids channels that have content that have adult context but are not age restricted or flagged for inappropriate subjects. RU-vid definitely has favorites.
I'd actually like to understand if there are ANY possible technical difficulties that would make it a harder process for a company as big as RU-vid to deal with.
Cory addressing this Major problem, Has led to Penguinz0 AND Jacksepticeye to explain and talk about it, waiting for more and more people to talk about this
youtube: Genuine Racism, ignoring, abusing small creators, allows for 90rn, takes down videos of people trying to help the victims of rape, assault, pizzaphiles, and degrading bots that spam comment replies; almost nothing done also youtube: removes Dislikes (after saying they aren't), disables comments on their own shorts videos (i wonder why lmao), says they listen to feedback (does the same thing again the next year), supports black history month (bans a black creator the first fucking day because he made a joke about it), and has a pride month logo (accept for in any middle eastern country)
RU-vid should add a feature inside of RU-vid Studio that uses the same automated checking system to check videos before they're uploaded. And if there is a problem, it should give a time and a reason why
This is an abusive relationship plain and simple, and someone needs to hold RU-vid accountable for using bots to enforce their vague rules and making knee jerk reactions whenever people call them on their bullshit. Unfortunately that would probably take ACTUAL legal action and that takes money and not a whole lot of creators on RU-vid don't have that kind of cash.
Yeah I agree I don’t think anything meaningful will come from this unless legal action is taken against RU-vid. They don’t care about the people who use their platform.
I wonder if it would be possible to do a joint operation of this... say that all the content creators concerned compile the cash in a group savings then hire a team willing to work with the group. Either that, or go up to the doorstep of HQ and peacefully protest
RU-vid has a monopoly on online videos. Until there's serious competition, they have no incentive to do better. They could come out and publicly say they hate their creators and think we're all peasants, and out options would be to keep watching their content or not have any online videos.
They are totally playing favorites. Even in their search algorithm. Searching our own channel by name, it's amazing how much I have to scroll past to be seen.
RU-vid has changed, they call it an "improvement" but everyone who prefers the OG RU-vid calls it, "a way of erasing the people that made it to what it was now."
They've got their big fancy house built up nice and pretty, so now they want to get rid of, and possibly ruin, anyone that helped lay the foundation and build it in the first place.
"Keep children safe" To be honest they did make RU-vid Kids for a reason. If they have that platform already for kids, why making the MAIN YT as kid friendly as RU-vid kids? This should be a general platform while the YT kids gets the censor words filter and all that stuff, I dont get It.
You tube kids is genuine hell Just because this is getting famous I have a question - everything depends on opinion is what I have been said so I wanted u people to enlighten me that after what point opinions become invalid and useless For example many video can be cringe but that is subjective, I wanna know how subjective it is
RU-vidr Plagued Moth proved that real gore on YT is a thing, not to mention a lot of "gray area" content. And here they freak out about a game in which nobody gets killed, that has a legit story and a very artistic approach when it comes to the dreamy sequences.
First time on this channel and it's an instant subscribe. I'm impressed. Best of luck dealing with what's obviously a de facto monopoly being lazy at best and being malicious at worst.
It’s nice to see that Jack backs up Cory on this. Even he sees and agrees with everything Cory had because he’s noticed how RU-vid they like to play favoritisms.
RU-vid NEEDS TO: -Promote the YT kids app -bring back dislikes -remove double ads -listen to their community -use less bots/fix their bots -crack down on bot/spam commenters (thanks Hajimemes) -regulate YT Kids further
RU-vid: “We’re removing the dislike button.” Community: “We don’t want that.” RU-vid: **Removes it anyways** RU-vid: “Keep content family friendly and don’t violate our rules.” Also RU-vid: **Allows ads that violate the same rules they tell content creators not to break** RU-vid: “Scams are not allowed on our platform.” Also RU-vid: **Allows scam bots to run rampant throughout the comment section** RU-vid: “We restricted your video.” Creator: “Why?” RU-vid: **Refuses to elaborate** Something needs to be done.
@@theuniverse5311 That's how they started out, and even for a while after they got bought by Google they were still pretty good about that. Nowadays RU-vid is just a monopoly and they can do whatever they want.

You're mostly right but it's silly to expect anything different. That's how big businesses are, which is why if you want one to be more ethical there have to be regulations and unions, because a big corporation will never willingly value ethics over profit.
Not just RU-vid, it's been something going on with all social media sites going corporate. And there's probably some inevitablity to it unfortunately, as having technology where people can connect to more people than any other time period would mean incentivizing the money-makers to be money-makers (just as railroads/locomotives, the European printing-press, and the Silk Road trade has done in the past).
I say it was when monetization of content happened…which won’t have been possible for RU-vid if it didn’t have interesting content creators drawing people to the site….. RU-vid is bits the hand that feeds.
It’s refreshing to see youtubers talk about the issues on the site Edit: about 90% of the replies to this comment so far are bots. You really can’t avoid the problems being talked about
Cory started a ripple, now watch the pond react 👌🏾Great content Jack!! You can tell Jack is talking from the perspective of a content creator that started before RU-vid was the giant it is today.
I really feel like at this point, people just need to do the brave thing & change to another platform. RU-vid has ZERO competition, which is the reason they don't care when this issue comes up over & over & over again.
It reminds me of the issue with parents ignoring the age ratings on games. Its the parents responsibility to enure that their kids are not viewing or playing age restricted content, others shouldnt be punished for parents slack parenting. Thousands of content creators losing thousands of $'s because of lazy parenting.
I heard youtube kids is full of just baby videos. Like, if you have a youtube KIDS but only have videos for literal babies and toddlers, yeah kids aren't going to use it but, that is not the public's problem. That is the companies. They need to make products that are actually used by their target like kids for youtube kids. This honestly just feels like rich peoples way of oppressing anyone they don't agree with because the laws are making those people's lives that they don't like easier.
@@Sebastian-fy3hu not entirely true but you're close. RU-vid kids has actually got content creators who make content directed at kids as well. As for teenage made material I can't speak but I have kids who watch it. My son watches a father and son play farming simulator all the time. granted the fact they don't have ads on it probably sucks for most content creators seeing as how they probably don't get paid for it. That's probably why creators like Blippi and ryan's world stretched to tv platforms as well.
Pretty much screams this: RU-vid does not know what it's doing at all when it comes to ethics. Basically it's being lead by money and algorithms and not some kind of thought-out code. Historically speaking, given that it is relatively new, and new tech tends to go through a 'okay this is unethical/getting people killed, time to reel it in to not suck so badly' period. Thinking of industrial revolution assembly line work conditions, or the shift from apothecaries to pharmacies type situations. Hopefully this is that period for RU-vid.
I love how everyone is spreading the word about Cory's situation to get more people to know, and I doubt that RU-vid is going to change anything but hopefully they do.
I've been watching coryxkenshin since he's had around 200k subscribers and this is heartbreaking what's happening to him all the way he's come, I really hope we can resolve this issue. Respect to Jack for helping cory out.
14:14 there’s also region flags as well.. sometimes content shared from different areas have different rules, regulations, etc. I know you’re a larger channel, but I’ve seen where smaller channels I can only see some videos where as others say, “not available in your area,” due to different flags
It's great to hear Jack, Cory, and Charlie all talk about this massive issue and massive lack of clear communication (if any communication to begin with) that RU-vid has with it's creators
I love... i love, i love how many different youtuber just come around and saying fact about this, shadow behind RU-vid. like you Kwon what i mean right just patting them in the back, eachother back its just show how serious is this like ykwim idk man im just saying but yeah
I wanted to start a gaming channel this year but after how many creators are struggling and these are known creators struggling makes me wonder how worth it it is to dedicate into something that isn't currently stable. I lost 3 creators that are no longer posting because RU-vid is flagging their videos and not even explaining why. So not only is RU-vid discouraging creators we like their worrying new creators as well. like you said you've been doing this for 10 years you work hard everyday providing content that you can't be sure is going to be okay or not. its like having a job that keeps you on probation. its really disappointing to see RU-vid not really doing much to sort this issue out despite it being a big problem for a while. has it come to the stage that RU-vid is just no longer interested in their creators and just want money. RU-vid was really entertaining for the most part in previous years but even as a viewer I'm enough of ads every 5 minutes its like one of those stupid clickbait games now. Not to mention the content just isn't as fun as it used to be with creators constantly worried about their content dialling it down. or even just stopping it entirely because their livelihood is at stake and its no only worth It. starting to hope someone starts a new app that was like how RU-vid used to be before stuff hit the roof. If RU-vid wants to continue being the app that it is it needs to start hiring people who are capable of taking these concerns into consideration and start forming protection for their creators and content.
Honestly, if you’re comfortable streaming I’d would just switch to twitch and stream instead. I know twitch has its problems but I haven’t heard nearly as many bad stories as I have with YT.
It’s so sad to see people like jacksepticeye, and Coryxkenshin and many others, just completely giving up on RU-vid. It really has changed and it’s just so sad to see.
@@theroboman727 no no that’s not what I’m saying, I’m stating that, RU-vidrs have said many times that RU-vids not the same, and that RU-vidrs don’t have the same motivation that they used to
I think the worst part about the whole RU-vid situation is that there's no real way to protest this. Theres no real way to starve them of profit, which would be the most effective message to send.
I hope RU-vid gets they're income so low that the employees at the headquarters begin to starve and they're like. Oh how about if we actually go back to the old system
There is only 1 way. A mass boycott of the majority of the creator community. It will only make a small 2% dent in their profits, but the defamation will not be good for their PR and a lot of sponsors/brands will pull away. They'll have to take action if not for their Profit, then for their Reputation
There is one way, but nobody considers it viable, because _technically_ it isn't. On its own, it's inefficient, non-viable, very much something that people will get arrested for. Done alongside a much bigger movement to end a lot of bad practices on the other hand? That's doable, and we'll see success. However the problem arises that not a lot of people sympathize with each other in the same way anymore. What I mean by that, is that turning a profit tends to take priority over the moral choice, and due to hundreds of years of systems that have indoctrinated people into thinking this way of living is viable, no-one really thinks of doing anything any more, as if it just isn't possible, or that it's wrong to try fighting for what's actually right. My head hurts. Part of me's baffled we actually allowed this to happen, the other part understanding people are too easily manipulated by media, corporate and government control conspiracies. Even worse is, people that try explaining or exposing this often get pitted into the same hole as the real fringe and odd conspiracy theorists, which is only going to lead to further downfall. Sorry for the textwalls. Have a good day.
Speaking on the mass-reporting of a RU-vid channel, that happened recently with a channel I watch: "DissociaDID." Someone they had worked with wrongfully reported many videos claiming they have some ownership and it was just a mess. I would recommend watching the video DissociaDID posted for further explanation AND if you can support them (as they are in court with the man responsible for mass-reporting).
These bots are ridiculous. I just want to hear other people's opinions without the comment section being spammed. RU-vid needs to really step up their game in so many places.
There's so many times I'm hesitant on playing a certain game, or reacting to certain videos. Because, of this exact issue right here. I'm so glad to see Cory and Jack speaking out on behalf of all creators... Large like them or smaller like me. It can only hopefully make the platform better for everyone. Much love to you all, and especially Cory. I'm sorry they are treating you this way, it's extremely messed up.
His line of work is RU-vid, and speaking up when things are changing for the worse is very important. It goes for any line of work. Don't be a pushover. Nicely done!
Comment section need a to ban all bots here , The sex bots, the “I’m better than this RU-vidr” bot, the “Claim your here within and out bots basically ALL bots need to be banned because I have been sending so many reports but RU-vid does nothing about it
Why does the first thing he thinks of have to be that YT is racist though? It's the woke way of thinking that black people are immediately victims because of their race and race alone.
The only consistent behavior at RU-vid is that whenever they fuck up, it only gets corrected when a big creator points it out, and the fuck up is always an "error". They constantly apply their rules inconsistently, then treat any call-out of that unjust application like it's a one-time mistake, with no indication that they have any plans to fix the underlying problem
They definitely don’t have plans they’re a monopoly grown lazy. Why would they fix anything when there’s literally nowhere else to go. It’s surprising that youtube hasn’t been split by anti trust laws. The only other competitor in the same content type is Vimeo i geuss, and they’ve just been slowly dying.
i disagree sometimes even when big creators do stuff youtube doesn't care, jack has been a big proponent against youtube and the removal of the dislike button, pewds also. and youtube just doesn't care.
I agree with everything should be equal and its important to see the goals of RU-vid, what they want the AI automation to understand. I will also say that working with AI's and automation a lot of the workings from outside those who directly made it from the ground up. Many AI's and automation systems are put in to save RU-vid money as they would need thousands of people to work on manually reviewing content. Without the system RU-vid may not be possible at the moment, that system also serves billions of accounts, this usually means it has to be as lightweight as possible. With so much weight on that one system, any changes could lead to disaster, its incredibly intricate. If the Engineers do mess up than its potentially all over for RU-vid. Even having the system give basic reasons such as "Flagged reason - Potential nudity in 500 frames" Would be an extra layer on everything. So it would be very hard for them to add something like that correctly as it would have to do that for every video released on the platform, that multiplies how much processing it would take. While I have no idea of the load the RU-vid servers are under, if they go under too much load they will have delays and start to fall behind in videos uploaded. That would lead to expansion and make things harder for everyone, so its not something they could do overnight, potentially weeks and or months and its certainly possible, but any kind of automation edits I can imagine would be the last thing RU-vid would want to do unless its a huge issue. So I am glad to see creators like yourself raising the issue and helping all the little RU-vidrs out there. I'm unsure how manual flagging is handled so only on a guess is that perhaps it compares the ratio of flags, scoring them with the ones more recent being a higher score and if the score ratio ends up higher then the limit ratio then that might notify RU-vid. The limit rising with the number of subscribers and it having a ratio to it. I think it would be a good idea for RU-vid to go over a video with how RU-vid runs in basic and the complexity of its software, a showcase which would do good to promote them as well as work as a perhaps guideline for RU-vidrs to have an idea of how the software works and be able to get an idea of what content may trigger it. Still not as bad as the censoring of SigredBot in NovelAI or DungeonAI's great censoring. Just them attempting to censor it killed off most of the users and even after it was fixed it made the AI fairly dumb. Hope something from here may help, I'm not RU-vid so this is all mostly from my own knowledge but hope understanding the complexity's of automation and AI's even more so if RU-vid even has all the original developers who put it all together may help at least elevate some irritation. Its an amazing platform when you really look at it and how far we have come in a few years, Just makes it all the more worth fighting to progress and keep working, so more power to you for raising this.
22:36 You are not alone, Jack. My channel is starting at rock bottom and I need to make the stuff people want to click on and not what would be fun for my audience. I completely understand this meta of having to make people click on your content just so it does well.
