Have to agree with the frustrations of just loading songs and needing ear buds. I just got this watch and out of all the videos I watched, yours made sense. I live through RU-vid music so being able to play music even without my phone is a big deal

Maybe I'm crazy but I remember that I only paired my phone and watch. It was more than a year ago. All my apps just appeared and worked. Now, I stopped using the watch bc my job was damaging it. So, now it's seems that I need a doctorate in engineering to set my watch's alarm. So, thank you for restoring my sanity and sense of self-worth.

Oh my God thank you so much this watch has been driving me nuts. I can't believe that you need your earbuds to start the RU-vid Music. They should make a better note on the watch because I was getting so frustrated. Thank you for this video!

Same here they need to fix this issue. I just spam the play button and swipe back when it goes to the bluetooth connection screen and eventually itll start playing off the watch speaker. Idk why they dont let u choose watch, phone or bluetooth. So annoying this watch doesnt really let you save time and make things easier, i tell everyone i know that its pretty useless 🤣. They NEED to update the software and fix these dumb issues. Its basically a dumb watch not a smart watch.

@@kaizen_creations The Best I could tell you is, buy Apple. My iWatch 6 is not perfect by any means, the music thing it has it down to perfection with minimal intervention on my part, I just use it and it works. The beauty of it all is that I am not allowed to have my phone within my reach when am driving my work truck. So every morning, I pair my very old iPhone 7 running an outdated version of IOS, I pair it to the truck radio and I can start a play list from any music service, it doesn't matter. I put my phone away and forget about. I don't even have to touch the radio to raise or lower the volume, all I do is scroll the control wheel on the iWatch and it lower/raises the volume, this is stuff is amazing just to see it work without me doing anything special to make it work. But like I said, my phone is old, and I had an opportunity to get the latest flagship model of an Android brand at a very affordable price, so I jump on it, given the fact that my iWatch would not work, I immediately started looking for a watch that would match my new Android phone, and what a headache, this is a disaster. And I consider myself somewhat tech savvy, and I have spent the whole afternoon just messing with this two devices just to get them to do simple stuff, what in the world, and how are people still coming back for more pain year after year ? unbeliavable.

I guess I take it all back, I guess it marinated while I was here reading and replaying to some of the messages, I went back to the watch, and it all got resolved on its own magically, my Gmail account showed up, I was able to start playing all my liked songs, I was able to select one of my playlist and downloaded to the watch. As I type this I am streaming music from the watch to the Bluetooth bookshelf speakers, I can advance songs and if I go into a different title screen I can control the volume. I guess all it needed was some time to figure out itself. I am a happy camper, about to go for ride on the bike with just the watch and the head phones. Sorry I can't teach anyone how to do it, it did it on its own. Be patient I guess.

Smartwatches still seem very inconvenient, may take a few years until they are more usable. Smartwatches are now at a similar period mobile phones where in the early 2000s

The smart watches are actually pretty good as far as the hardware goes, the problem is the user interfaces and the software. Things that could be fixed tomorrow. using the software called tasker I was able to create a few apps for my watch to make it more useful and I am much more comfortable with leaving the house without my phone

Thank goodness I found this video as I wasted hours and hours yelling at the poor rep from Spotify....ditched Spotify as it was too aggravating (and caused my LTE version of the watch to overheat) and wouldn't play any songs on the watch (despite paying way too much for premium) so I was thrilled when Google announced RU-vid Music on Watch OS! How wrong was I!! Who wrote this trash program(s)!? What's worse is I've had several updates to both the watch OS and a recent update to the RU-vid Music app.....and it's mid 2022 and still highly dysfunctional and frankly unusable!

Like you said, this is 100 step backwards. I come from the iPhone world and iWatch where everything just works with minimal efforts on my part. But I got an awesome offer on an Android phone by switching carriers and I wanted to try something different, so I order a Watch 4 to go with my Android phone. After the initial general setup, of course all I wanted to do was to play music on my phone and control it via the Watch 4. I do not own any music files, but I do use YT Music, and I am having a hell of a time trying to get this watch to just advance to the next song or lower the volume, which is something that is done so simply and intuitive on the iWatch. At this point it is asking me for my Google account connected to YT Music, that account is active on the phone and the watch, it tries to sync that account from the phone into the watch but it fails, and the message I get on the phone is that I need to get YT Premium. So if I don't have the paid subscription it won't work ? I really like the round physical appearance of the watch better then the square iWatch, Watch 4 is a gorgeous watch, I just don't know that is worth the hassle. This watch is going to go back and hopefully I can't find something that can actually work with my Android phone because this whole Samsung battle against Google, biting the hands that feed each other, this doesn't make any sense. Samsung wants to sell you all the same services that you are required to sign up for on the Google side, so it is all a repeat, I can't keep up with all the accounts and passwords that I had to create just to get this phone and the watch to connect with each other. At this point Google doesn't make their own watch, a lot of those cheap watches from Amazon can control music, why can't Samsung just make it work ?

One major difference is that on the IOS system everything is in sync when playing music, the same song playing on the watch is also being display on the phone lock screen, so you can control the music on both screens/display which ever is closest to you. With the watch 4, it needed the phone to option the login privileges into YT Music but that is as far as that union goes, after that the watch operates independently of the phone, so you can't just grab the phone stop the music, or change the song, the only exception is if you receive and answer a call, the watch will pause the music for the duration of the call. Other than that you can only control the music through the watch if you start playing through the watch, they work independently. Weird.

Further more, you can control the volume from the media title using the virtual wheel, but that is very choppy, you can easily harm your ears and damage your speakers, so I still recommend going into your volume title and go up or down one notch at a time instead of using the scrolling virtual wheel. Also the sound profile from watch is very different from the phone connected to the same speakers and playing the same music, the phone streams with more base, the watch streams very lean. I still haven't find a way to play music thought the watch speakers, if I disconnect the bluetooth speakers the music becomes unavailable. Today is my first day with the watch, I am sure the more I use it the more stuff I will discover and will have to keep finding work around, and this is a $280 device, that is real money. And I haven't even gotten started with the health app, not sure what is waiting for me there. One of the thing I found when I compared the Amazfit watches to the the iWatch, was that although they all had the same features, the Amazfit watches could only keep up and provide accurate results when I was walking at a slow pace and not for too long, the minute I started sprinting and changing the pace and going far for longer workouts, the cheap watches would loose accuracy and provide bogus results.

Yes you can actually stream music if you load the Amazon Alexa program on your watch which is doable I did a video on that the only problem is is that when streaming even with the RU-vid music your watch is prone to either overheat and or kill the battery fast I've settled for just loading songs automatically on my watch using the auto sync feature which will automatically move songs from a folder onto a folder on your watch that then play flawlessly

Who can listen to your music over data but you can also download it to the watch where it'll play off the watch instead of your data

In most cases data for watches now is a flat rate for unlimited. In addition to streaming music I'm also able to stream news and sports which is what I'm more interested in

I need to correct you ..Ticwatch pro 3 has had youtube music just before the watch. the process is quite simple to load music. I have a Galaxy watch 4 also. I have only been successful in getting 1 song loaded. My watch constantly says ..waiting for Wifi.. Even when I am on charger and connected to wifi. I've uninstalled a number of times... the issues are still there. I might add that I have the samsung S21 Ultra with the new operating system which might be the issue... It's a beta file and has a few bugs.....

Ho, me too. I have an S21 5G, and a watch 4. I was able to download 3 songs, then it won't let me do any more. Also, curious problem is that when I look at my youtube music, the watch only shows me roughly 40 songs - alphabetically - I want to download just a few meditation "songs". So I put them in a playlist and tried to download the entire playlist. When I go to that playlist on the watch, and open it, it shows no songs. Geez! If anyone has any tips please help. I'll keep googling on this problem.

For adding new playlists, make sure it's set to public and play the new playlist on your phone. Wait for few minutes and then go to last played on your galaxy watch. It should appear there for download.

it's crazy there's barely any apps, i listen to the radio and play audible books like.... wish it had those. yea i like fitness but i also want it as a media control device. doesn't seem worth it.

I currently use a hack - Load Ultimate Alexa (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.customsolutions.android.alexa&hl=en_US&gl=US) you can then access some media source in streaming mode - you can also use My Media Alexa (www.mymediaalexa.com/) and you can play your own media - I donwload a few hours of radio and then play it later...

lets say i have list A with 10 songs on my phone and GW5 downloaded. i add 3 more songs from my phone to list A. how do i make my watch update list A to download those 3 songs? the only solution i found was to delete and download from scratch list A, which is barbaric. love your channel btw.

It says that RU-vid music is downloaded on my watch but it does not show up on my apps in the wear app. And I have hard reset my watch and it still says it's installed on the watch.

Well it doesn't work like that no more . Why what it does now is all the stuff that you like on your RU-vid music it remembers that and then when you say your playlist it's all the stuff you liked and then it it downloads that from or doesn't download it to the watch it plays it over the the phones data I have that same watch

I guess my biggest issue is is I do like playing it through the speaker on the watch sometimes I'm just sitting there and I just want to hear the news or in 20 years song while I'm sitting there reading the paper or something and I don't have my headphones so I don't like that they force you to have a Bluetooth connection

I took a look at the realme buds Pro and yes they should work fine. To answer your second question Iam going to give you an oversimplified answer. The person who discovers something is the person who can name it. It can be a serious name or a silly name. I have an ancestor who was a dinosaur hunter and named several dinosaurs some after himself (LOL) true story. (www.wikiwand.com/en/Samuel_Beckles) A technique was developed to send information (for the sake of this explanation) lets call it music...between two devices (example: watch to phone, music to headphones). The creators decided to call it Bluetooth after Harald Bluetooth a 10th Century Scandinavian King ( www.wikiwand.com/en/Harald_Bluetooth ) In fact that funny symbol that you see every time something has Bluetooth is actually the Nordic initials HB for Harald Bluetooth ….lol Nine times out of 10 when someone refers to Bluetooth they are referring to music being transmitted from one device to another. Editor’s Note: Techies I said it was a very oversimplified answer, Please do not comment on how much I left out….lol

I did not need earbuds to load music. I just had an issue because I only had 12 songs available to select to put on it right away in the folder for the watch to take

I did but I'm not sure how. I had to keep going back and forth between the play menu and the Bluetooth menu and it took like 15+ times but it does play without buds. But you have to fight so much it's like not worth it.

I hate this freaking watch so much.. I click download and it literally does nothing.. the download icon lights up like I touched it, but there's no notification it's doing anything.. I'll sometimes get downloads, then magically a few days later, they're all gone ! I check the settings and it's set to 500 songs... What a joke of a system. The reason it's 5g is so we can use it as a mini phone, I mean wtf is this gimmick crap.

yes as you could tell from my review I'm not pleased with how they're doing this there are a lot of disadvantages to wear OS over tizen as far as implementation is concerned so much so that I may do another video on the subject but because this one did not get a lot of views I probably will do it as a member only video only because then at least I make $2 off the video as opposed to nothing if no one watches it LOL but if I do I'll post something here to at least let you know I put something up

@@TheHiTechNomad hopefully the issue gets fixed through an update. Seems like RU-vid music is premature on the Galaxy watch but I managed to get my desired playlists that I have by going to the recently played section and it'll show what I played on my phone. Another issue I encountered was that now that I have the watch paired to my phone, my phone won't let me install Spotify 🤦‍♂️. But yes I could install YT music on my phone. also if I have 800 songs downloaded on the watch from YT music, my watch overheats and runs out of battery in just 20 min. Allot of issues that don't make sense with this watch in general. Never tried an apple watch. But Samsung has a long way to go with their Galaxy watch.

@@TheHiTechNomad also if you think not enough people are watching your video I would say it's because no issue was solved. It only shows you doing what we already know what to do and making it look like we wouldn't of figured it out. I came here to see if you solved my issue at least but looks like you didn't have my issue.
