The philanthropy is a byproduct of the wealth he receives from the entertaining content. In other words he's not "monetizing" philanthropy, he is monetizing views and engagement. People love his videos, they watch them, he gets financial compensation then he gives his money away in another video. The philanthropic aspect is just perspective.
