Y'all complaining about assets in the game world popping up when you approach, but that's how I see the real world when I leave my house without glasses.

I've been a YS fan since Celceta on the Vita. Gonna pick YS IX on Switch for sure. Yeah Falcom needs a new engine for YS and Trails, it's really showing it's age.
I played the demo, and I really really wish they let you do more than ten minutes in the two areas they give you, it's barely enough time to get a feel for the game. I liked it well enough, but I'm thinking I'll wishlist and wait for a sale.
Currently playing it right now and I can't express how amazing this game is. The combat is fun, the characters and their backstories are amazing. I can't wait to finish it so i can play YS 8 which a lot of people are saying it's the best YS game yet.
I’m currently playing through Ys VIII right now on your recommendation. It’s safe to say that I’m now hooked on this series and I’m excited to play Ys IX soon.
Great vid! Playing through it right now on Switch & loving it. Frame rate doesn't bother me but the graphics are a bit outdated now. Thankfully Falcom has been working on a new engine for their games which the Ys series will highly benefit from for when Ys X comes out.
I loved Ys VIII but am having a hard time getting excited about this one. Probably has a lot to do with how drab the environments look. Ys 8 was low res but at least it was colorful. I’ll pick 9 up eventually but not an immediate purchase.
None of the footage you showed would have bothered me when playing, im used to playing retro games at 20 fps. What i find more jarring is when 60fps drop down to 30. Awesome video.
I'm really into your reviews. You always give us some good insights Thanks for you honesty on this one. I'm really looking forward to it but I'm gonna wait a bit more before picking it up because my backlog is considerable right now. I'm not the kind of player who can only have fun with solid 60 fps but it seems the problem is different here because the game will only play flawlessly on a PS5. Maybe a patch that improves performance a little comes up soon. I'm convinced it's never gonna be perfect but if it gets a little more consistent, it'll help a lot. I've had a lot of fun with VIII on the Switch and I'm pretty sure it won't be any different with this one
As a side note, if anyone is remotely interested in picking up the physical version of this game then I would personally recommend doing it within half a year to a year. YS 8 physical version on switch is now over $100
Love this game, played it back when it first released, on the PS5. An easy 9/10 for me. Ys never disappoints!! For the Switch version, hopefully they can patch up those frame rate issues. Or just wait for the Switch Pro to release, lol Great review as always✌️😀
Got this on the PS4. I’ve only played it on my ps5. Kinda glad I have, after seeing this review. Solid game though, IMO. Those who are Ys fans know what they are going to get.
Been waiting for this to release on the switch Been a fan of ys since ps2 And my fave is Vlll Cant wait to get it tomorrow on switch i skipped the ps4 version because of portability I tried the demo it was great
I watched a video of the demo and it was a locked 30 so why is it unlocked in the main game? Kinda don't make sense I was really looking forward to playing this in the switch
I am waiting for this game, have it pre-ordered from best buy. Does this game have progression walls like VIII? That was the biggest problem I had with Y's VIII.
They really should let the Ps Vita go.. All of their games suffered because the limitations, they could achive much much greater games, if they would realese it on better platforms, instead of a small 50€ worth hand console.. The game is more expensive than the console itself smh..
Well, you will get out of the city and get in to the wild eventually, it's not as much as the previous game, but I think it's enough to have a break from the dullness of the city.
Basically for some reason they decided they needed to make the world empty just to hit the console 4k/30 requirement. The reason 8 was beautiful is because they dint target 4k, they were filling the world for a small screen and later uprezed it. Gameplay is solid but this is the worst looking y's game. The psp version has more art assets and world design than this.
