I still remember how long I tried to defeat him without being hit ( • Ys The Ark of Napishti... ) so getting a little revenge and killing this bastard fast felt really good. :)
I will not upload any other time attack videos as I never recorded them. Ernst was an exception because I wanted to find out if the highest ranking score (excluding cheaters) is possible to beat. And if it was - keeping a video of the fight would be nice.
In case of Ys 6, time attack is more dependant on luck than on skill like it was in Felghana and Origin: get a couple of criticals and the resulting time might lower drastically. But learning the correct way of dealing with each boss still takes some time so skill is also required.

This is a pretty nice speedrun. Do you have any idea why for me the timer runs super quickly? Like, in 1 second actually 7 or 8 seconds pass on the timer. I’m on PC as well; when I put the fps display in settings it tells me that the game is running at 500fps… but the game speed is totally normal outside of the Time Attack timer. While I’m at it I have another question- I beat the game on Nightmare Catastrophe on my first playthrough, the save file says it took me 20 hours but when I check the time rankings, it says I’ve beaten the game on Hard (no Catastrophe) and it took me 70 hours… what the hell is going on there? I’m on Windows XP in case that matters.

+ALAKTORN The game speed might be normal even with higher fps. It seems, that only few things in the game are visibly affected (like the timer). If you look closely, the timer in my video runs slightly faster than it should as well. Try to enable VSync and play in fullscreen mode. Other that this I have no idea how to fix it. As for the playthrough time... Most likely those rankings are bugged or something like that. I completed the game three times (Normal, Hard, Nightmare+Catastrophe), but my time never actually registered - I still have --:--:--- for all difficulties. No idea what to do.

ArekTheAbsolute Thanks for the reply. VSync was already enabled, I tried disabling it but there was no change. Edit: Forgot to try the full screen, that seems to have fixed it. :) Thanks for the help. It sucks that the timers are bugged out like that. :/

I just got 10 seconds on Demi-Galba. :) Dashjump attack is the fastest method. “Up air” is actually pretty slow, compared. I also got 4 seconds on Geis but I think your time is sliiiiightly faster than mine. That fight is pretty stupid, it could be done in 2 seconds if the stars align and you hit 2 dashattacks with some crits. Also got 33 seconds Majunun but I didn’t attempt that super seriously, it was a good run though. I’m gonna be learning a full Normal any% speedrun for the game now, you can come check out my Twitch (twitch.tv/alaktorn91) if you want. :)
